Chapter 175
Chu Muxi saw Gavin frowning beside him, and even Tern quickly took two steps toward the place where the argument was happening.
“Weiyang? What are you arguing about here?” Tern asked.
Chu Muxi and Gavin walked forward and saw a young soldier in his early twenties with curly brown hair, anxiously pointing to the mecha beside him. “They’re going to send my Greedy Wolf to be formatted,” he said, distressed. “He will replace the entire energy box and said all the data inside would be redone; it won’t be my Greedy Wolf anymore! Isn’t it just a matter of replacing the core?” As he spoke, he suddenly noticed someone approaching. Weiyang quickly ran over and grabbed Gavin’s arm. “Gavin! Gavin! Please help me take a look. We can definitely change the core for the third time, right?”
Gavin shook him off, frowning as he scolded, “Weiyang, how many times have I told you not to yell here?”
Weiyang opened his mouth angrily but was met with a glare from Gavin and didn’t dare to argue further.
Chu Muxi glanced at the silver-grey mecha behind them. The mecha was well maintained, which showed how much care and attention its owner had given it.
“This mecha is called Greedy Wolf?” Chu Muxi asked.
“Yes! This is one of the twenty-four most powerful mechas in our fleet! It’s named after that!” Weiyang, anxious, forgot the important details.
Chu Muxi smiled and said, “It’s named after the twenty-four constellations, right?”
“Oh, yes, yes! You actually know! Hey, who are you? I’ve never seen you before. Are you new to the base? Are you also a maintenance engineer?” Weiyang asked curiously as he looked at Chu Muxi.
Weiyang had just returned from changing defence on the frontier planet, coming specifically to repair his Greedy Wolf.
He had just landed at the base today and hadn’t had time to greet his teammates.
Naturally, no one had mentioned Chu Muxi to him.
Tern quickly said, “This is our boss’s guest! A distinguished guest!” He emphasized the word “distinguished.”
Weiyang blinked and said, “The boss’s guest?” It was obvious the kid only had his mind on Greedy Wolf, and he was quite slow on other matters.
Chu Muxi smiled and said, “Hello, I’m Chu Muxi.”
“Oh, hello, hello, my name is Weiyang.” After Weiyang introduced himself, his attention quickly shifted back to his mecha. He turned to Gavin, pleading, “Gavin, please replace it again! Really! Can’t we try to fix it for the third time?”
“It’s possible, but have you seen what you’ve damaged inside? You can only replace the entire core and remove the outer energy box. Otherwise, if you carry on like this, all the data will be destroyed. Just wait until they send your Greedy Wolf to the recycling yard,” Gavin stated coldly and without expression.
Weiyang cried out sadly, “Can’t you try again? Greedy Wolf has been with me for five years! Five years! I treat him like my own brother! If his memory is wiped, how can he still be my brother? The friendship we had before—he won’t remember it! I can’t let that happen! Please, give it another try!”
As he said this, he tried to grab Gavin’s arm again, but Gavin, impatient, stepped to the side to avoid him.
In doing so, Weiyang accidentally grabbed Chu Muxi’s arm, leaving Chu Muxi stunned.
Weiyang was equally shocked, and Tern quickly pulled his hand away. “Just talk, what are you doing grabbing someone? Let go!”
“Oh, oh, I didn’t mean to!” Weiyang stammered.
Chu Muxi coughed and suddenly thought of something. He raised his head, smiled, and asked, “Why don’t you let me give it a try?”
