Chapter 273: [Before the Storm (I)]

Aisha was the dancer girl whom Adam met when he first entered the Coast city. He found her dancing on the streets as she collected money from the people, and was soon acquainted with him as the guards barged in arresting everyone on the street at that time, including him and her. She was a capable Earth Magician, and also dwelled on Charm Magic. Though not excelling in terms of mana capacity, her mana control was much finer than your average mage.

Trying to protect her brother, she was working under the Vampire, Vladmir, and feeding him with powerful humans from the surface every now and then. Though this was intercepted when Adam, disguised as Josh, intervened along with Geralt, the Captain of the Guard force.

And now, under the commands of Josh, who revealed himself as Adam, she was now working along with the same Vampire and Geralt, following the orders of Adam, still hoping to find her brother and herself out of this mess.

"Life isn't a fairytale, you know? It's a tragedy. The only good thing about it is that… It's a tragedy for everyone."

[Aisha's POV!]

Walking into the private room, I saw the duo of a vampire and human knight sitting opposite to each other, across the circular table.

"The war is tomorrow, huh?" Geralt, the captain of the guards, spoke as he looked at me with a saddened expression. His eyes were dull as if he could not believe it anymore. His voice turned low as he added," all because the Viscount wanted to protect his son. Was it really that wrong?"

"Don't blame yourself kid. I have seen nations getting destroyed by small quarles," Vladmir, the vampire, spoke as he drank an ale of blood. His eyes looked at the dozens of files in front of him as he read through them at a glance, before closing his eyes for a few seconds.

I moved towards the table and sat on the empty chair on the left.

Sitting in this private room, we three observed each other's faces wondering what to do with the information that we got and the objectives that were given to us.

"Shall we… run away?" I suggested.

I mean, it's a war we are talking about. And a war at the level of Gods and Demons. There is little we mortals can do here.

"Luciana will be there. I am going to kill that bitch with my own hands," Vladmir spoke as his eyes glowed red before returning back to normal, while Geralt looked deep into mine and answered,

"Aisha. I think you should really go. I have my reasons to stay here in the city. Even if it was my last breath, I can't let go of my duty to this city. But you have nothing to do with this place, I think running away is the better choice for you."

He spoke with a small smile, as if his fate was already sealed.

"Please don't say those words with that kind of face. It will only haunt me for the rest of my life," I spoke with a pressed smile. There was little I could do here as well. After all, my brother was still with Vladmir.

Hoping he would let him go and I can escape from here at once, I looked at him for a few more seconds. Though seemingly he doesn't seem to be listening to our conversation as he was lost in his own thoughts right now.

He took a deep sigh before he messaged his forehead. His eyes looked at me for a few seconds before stood up and walked towards the window, observing the entire city in front of him.

"If you are wondering about your brother, Sir Josh… Adam already has solved your problem. I believe you can leave with him from the city tonight. Though you have to ask Adam for permission," Vladmir then spoke as he looked at me. His eyes seemed to be saying 'it's not my problem anymore.'

'Huh? My brother is with Adam?'

And before I could even properly react, the door opened, catching our attention as we all looked at the man who entered here.

Blue eyes that seemed to be carrying the depth of the world in them. And the peculiar messed up black hair that gives up an odd feeling, still complimenting his blue eyes.

Just like always, as if he were on a vacation, he wore that plain white shirt over his black pants. An uncaring attitude but still seemed to be having an air of confidence around him as if he had everything in his control.

The Phantom that drove away the Demo-God all by himself and saved an entire town, Adam Wesker.

"Sir Adam," Geralt spoke, while Vladmir simply bowed.

Though my attention was taken away by the boy who was standing behind Adam, fidgeting as he looked around. And when his eyes connected with mine, he ran with all his might, before he jumped into my arms shouting,

"SISTER!!!"

At first I was confused. Wasn't he turned into a ghoul? I was sure the last time I saw him, he was trying his best to control his bloodlust… but as I felt his soft touch, his hair that was previously turning dark red, was now brown, just like when he was a normal human.

'It's not a dream, is it?' I thought as I tried confirming it with my hands, slowly brushing my fingers against his hairs. And instead of bloodstained hard hair like that of a ghoul, they were silk like, softer than before he was human.

A small tear escaped from my eyes as I felt my brother's touch. He hugged me tightly, as if he would never let go, while I hugged him back slowly, tears slowly escaping my eyes.

Breaking me out of stupor, was the voice of the man who reunited with my brother.

"Since he hadn't completely turned into a ghoul, I was able to make him a human again. You had been helping me for so long, so it was the least I could do for you," Sir Adam spoke as he smiled at me before looking at Vladimir and speaking,

"How are the preparations going?"
