Chapter 46: Man Proposes and Heaven Disposes

Hentai Shinobi Rule 46: You're either a Hentai Shinobi or a hypnosis-using Rizz-less retard.

***

Kai was a simple individual. He loved doing whatever he liked, and life was uncomplicated that way. So, he empathized with other monsters who wanted to live similarly. Limitations did not exist for the mighty, and those limited were never the mighty. Were the Shinobi Kage powerful? You bet! But were they capable of doing what they liked?

Fuck, no!

Could Kai do anything he liked? The answer was the same. However, he took steady steps in the direction of doing whatever the fuck he wanted. So, despite his empathy reserved for the rare few, he felt Mito suffered her just desserts. He didn't know the Uzumaki clan, so the disastrous news didn't fuck with his mind. No.

What fucked his mind was Mito.

She was a raging, blood-thirsty monster in her earlier years… OK.

She wanted to reach the peak and look down on the view… OK. Who wouldn't?

She felt convinced by the rumors of Rikudo's title as the first Jinchuriki. Sure. She might TRULY know something others didn't.

She bit more than she could chew and sealed the big angry fox inside her, now struggling to maintain the integrity of her chakra coils lest the Kyubi corrupted her system despite the seal. Hey, who would have thought?

But when did it become Kushina's fate to clean up after the fucker's mess who spread the rumors and Mito, who thought she was hot shit to tame the very beast that could annihilate countries with one fucking attack?!

It won't be Kushina's shit to clean and suffer if Kai had something to say about that.

And don't get Kai started more on Mito. The things he realized after a few moments of touching her seal weren't something he was willing to get to.

Kind?—Sure.

Powerful?—Damn, right!

Loving?—She had a family and raised orphans, right?

Dignified and Elegant?—Only when… the SLUT had her face painted white.

Nobody in the current era could imagine the heights of Kai's accomplishments in [Transformation Jutsu.] He could assess the truth beyond one's transformed state, memorizing every change after acquiring [Mind Library.] Always fearful the 'Slut' was a man intent on traumatizing his emotionally young soul, Kai memorized every bit of their body, and Mito met the match to a FUCKING T!

Kai was sure.

He was absolutely certain!

There wasn't a fleck of doubt in his mind and observation that Mito was the 'treasure' that disappeared from his nightstand. The Timeline linked solidly together since the Slut disappeared the same day Mito was hospitalized.

And that opened a whole different can of worms.

Was Mito genuinely sick?

Was it all a lie?

Why would she lie about her condition?

Was she willing to leave everything on Kushina and dip off to the afterlife, pretending she hadn't visited his room for months?

A whirlpool of chaotic emotions spiraled continuously without any intentions of calming.

Kai held both the Uzumaki dear to his heart despite the revelations. But how should he deal with everything inside? Just suppress it? He hadn't done so since he realized his second life. He had been a man living in greyscale his entire life, only witnessing the colorful world now.

However, he only saw momentarily the bitter green and confusing flashes of light.

Kushina was a mess, and so was Mito.

As they say, when it rained, it poured. What was once the distant war zoomed onto the continent, knocking on everyone's doors. The Uzumaki Clan's disappearance…

The news of Uzushiogakure's Island country shattering into bits and sinking alongside their whirlpools left everyone shaken. An entire country disappeared in one night!

So… even further in Kai's depths, aside from feeling sad for inconsolable Mito and Kushina…

There was something…

It was wild and unhinged. Kai only felt a fraction of this color and sensation whenever he disciplined an orphan or planned to fuck with Yuka or stalk Nono to see what her issue was.

A boiling core… an eagerness to do something, to spread one's legs…

A maniacal plan…

The itch that never left the second Kai realized how simplistic his problems were…

'Would anyone need Kyubi or other Bijus… if another Shinobi existed that could fuck them all even if they combined their strengths?'

It was an irrational thought. Hashirama Senju was a unique existence. The likes of him never reappeared before or after his birth.

But what was war if not the result of irrational fear, rage, and greed?

Why couldn't one irrational result birth another?

Situated in his dimmed room, Kai opened his palms. Two paper strips rested on his hands—one black and one white.

Kai's smile and frustrations deepened. He was merely waiting patiently to be pointed at a spot to erupt.

Mito was numb. All her plans were for naught. It would have been an 'effortless' affair to divide the Kyubi, fake her death, and leave the village after using the excuse of being cremated in Uzushiogakure—a mission she would delegate to Team 9, led by her Granddaughter. Sure, Mito could predict the consequence of that plan and the heartache she would cause others.

However, Mito was selfish to her core. She would instead cause others heartache than experience similar complicated emotions. After all, armed with her new jutsu, Mito could disappear from Konoha. But it would lead to massive searches and have her name branded as a Nuke-nin of the highest order. Worst of all, tensions between Konoha and Uzu would rise faster than the steam build-up in a pressure cooker, threatening another front of war. Uzu AND Konoha was her home. Why the hell would she want them to fight?

Her plan would end up fucking kind girls like Kushina… but Mito only hoped the young redhead to bounce back from the sadness. Besides, half the Kyubi wouldn't stand a chance against the Four Symbols Seal, so Mito's plan never intended to restrict Kushina's freedom. But it wasn't possible to explain all this to Kai, who had decided to leave her be in this time of desolation.

Well, Mito felt it was karma.

She didn't want her two homes to suffer destruction. Mito merely desired to build a nice loft near Uzu's coast and relax. Heck. What else would she want? She wasn't hurting for money or power. The jutsu to divide Kyubi would have also solved her issues, allowing her to move independently of the spiral seal around the Uzumaki Residence extending to the nearby streets.

Still, Uzu's existence ended two nights ago.

"Grahahahaha! Ain't that justice!"

Kyubi barked a boisterous laugh as Mito's expression remained numb.

She lost her home…

She lost her family…

Well, as usual, the Uzumaki were fiercely selfish and selective. Sharing the same surname and red hair didn't mean Mito loved her clan dearly. One could argue that Mito loved her grandchildren even more. So, Nawaki's death was more disastrous for Mito.

But she lost too much.

A profound weakness clutched her soul as Mito couldn't rouse the energy to move.

Kyubi kept laughing inside her. Mito knew she deserved it and more.

So?

The world belonged to the victor.

Mito made selfish plans, and everything ended suddenly due to the conspiracy that none whiffed in the slightest!

How?

How did Iwa, Kumo, AND Kiri deal with Konoha's spies?

How did they manage such admirable cooperation?

Mito's head slightly hurt because she couldn't fathom the amount of time and energy spent on the plan. The cause was apparent—plunder.

The Land of Whirlpool was a resource-rich nation and a self-sufficient one at that. The Uzumaki Clansmen were also a wealth of research material. They claimed vibrant vitality, massive chakra pools, a unique affinity with Fuinjutsu, and a random pick between a Hiden, a unique Sensory Technique, and a unique chakra property that would shame Mystic Palms.

Those with more than one of these properties were the Uzumaki 'Royalties.' Kushina possessed two of these specialties. Meanwhile, Mito was born with them all.

And now…

Mito's gaze grew hollow. Uzushiogakure's demise after Nawaki's death last year turned into a massive blow that left the Uzumaki Mistress hurting.

'I guess I'll have to remain the jinchuriki. Where would I even go after following up with that plan?' Mito sighed. 'No point in making Kushina sad…'

But the blows kept coming.

"Ahhhh! Mito-sama! Old Cook Jiten isn't waking up!"

'Damn it…'

'Damn it…'

"DAMN IT!"

*Crash*

His aged hands slammed into the table, instantly crushing and splintering the fine piece of woodwork. With no tobacco to calm his urges, Hiruzen found his fury bubbling and boiling. His pants shuddered with cold rage as he paced around the office. His frustrations built further as he couldn't fathom one thing.

How?

Konoha possessed an extensive spy network with formidable skills in remaining concealed and sharing crucial information. Spies were like one-time consumable resources. Their movement often attracted the enemy, so every successfully planted spy was not different from support for the war effort. Similarly, spies from the different Shinobi villages inside Konoha made peace by sacrificing their lives and sharing crucial information. A shinobi village's administration couldn't overlook traitors either.

A traitor in the enemy territory was an asset, but one born within the borders was a high-priority liability.

But the most confusing and frustratingly admirable part was the three Shinobi Villages' method of dealing with Konoha's shinobi without relying on their spies present inside Konoha.

The one move gravely destabilized Konoha's spy network, plundered its greatest ally, and left the administration in doubt and chaos as everyone suspected the other of being a traitor.

One move surrounded Konoha with external and internal dangers…

And it was admirable.

The Uzumaki Clan was very aggressive and ready for conflicts, sharing such traits with Kiri's Kaguya Clan. However, compared to the latter, the Uzumaki Clan didn't kill its young members… it mostly injured others at best.

Konoha also enjoyed a constant supply of premium fuinjutsu products for their armory and several other aspects of businesses from Uzushiogakure. Sure, there were some hiccups last year where the sudden leakage of Uzumaki products led to mournful losses. However, Hiruzen worked hard to calm things down, making the Fire Daimyo less fearful of the Land of Whirlpools.

Furthermore, Konoha also managed to plan a strike on Kumogakure to weaken the latter by sending Orochimaru to assassinate Hachibi's Jinchuriki. Despite Orochimaru's failure, Hachibi's extraction from its jinchuriki after constant loss of control resulted in the same effect Hiruzen wished to achieve.

But all it took was one move to shift things from positive to stunning negative!

Konoha might seem untouchable momentarily. But that was far from the truth. The three villages attacked and plundered the Uzumaki Clan.

What could they plunder?

What were the most precious resources held inside Uzushiogakure?

Did the three Shinobi Villages care for Ryo? Unlikely. Hiruzen predicted the three villages' respective daimyos earned the plundered currency to calm the unrest and as a way of maintaining peace with their overlords. After all, the daimyos did not want the Shinobi Villages to gain more power and lose their financial limitations—the one thing that tied the Shinobi Villages under a Daimyo's rule.

No.

Iwa, Kumo, and Kiri did not care for Ryo.

The most precious resources inside Uzushiogakure were—knowledge and human resources!

Konoha's research department spent years developing the village through the items consistently procured from the Uzumaki Clan. The latter was ahead of its peers by a generation! Iwa, Kumo, and Kiri wished to steal the Uzumaki's Clan's jealously guarded secrets. Also, an Uzumaki made an excellent Jinchuriki!

Mito and Kushina were the cream of the crop in that regard. However, the strongest biju didn't plague other Shinobi Villages. Hiruzen expected the three villages to prosper by not constantly dealing with a Jinchuriki's rampage.

There was one problem…

All of it could be true, or nothing was…

Hiruzen didn't know what happened aside from the result of the Uzumaki Clan's island vanishing without a trace. The loss of the spy network in the three villages didn't help either.

But Hiruzen knew one thing…

Konoha could NOT sit back and let the three villages digest their gains. It would be foolish not to strike the trio, who must have suffered setbacks after battling the Uzumaki Clan.

Hiruzen glanced grimly at the village through his office's window. He knew what he had to do…

But those words would plunge Konoha into a desperate affair with death and destruction.

'Biwako's pregnancy… and now this…' Hiruzen sighed, feeling significantly aged. He wore a weary expression as his gaze revealed a bitter determination. He had changed… Didn't he vow to Danzo and many others to be better?

Konoha was his responsibility.

It was his family.

Still, he must give out the orders…

"Recall others from the borders and send for every Clan Head," Hiruzen punctuated with cold resolve. "They must be present in tomorrow's meeting."

Shadows flickered from his office, leaving Hiruzen alone. His back faced the portraits of his predecessors hanging from the walls, and his steely gaze remained on the village.

*Pitter-Patter*

*Pitter-Patter*

*Pitter-Patter*

Only a few individuals clustered inside Konoha's Cemetery. They wore black and adopted sad expressions. Well, most did. Kai looked around, somewhat indifferent.

*Sob* *Sniff*

Thoroughly upset by more bad news, Kushina kept crying while hugging Kai. He maintained a hand on her back, consistently patting it and her long red locks.

"Everyone's leaving, Kai-chan!" Kushina sobbed and wept. Her grip around Kai tightened as she didn't mind sharing her grief. "I will miss Jiten-Ossan's cooking."

"Kushina?" Kai whispered as she looked up, face distraught with tears and mucus. Her eyes were red, and heavy bags settled under her eyelids. She hadn't rested well since Uzu's destruction.

"Old Jiten stopped cooking for you guys," Kai revealed. "It was me."

Kushina's expression momentarily froze before she sniffed. "Even that pork katsu from yesterday?"

"It was me."

"Oh…" Kushina pulled back as she wiped her face before looking around. "I guess… we can stay? I mean, Jiten-Ossan was old. It was bound to happen someday."

'Way to get over it,' Kai scoffed. He knew Kushina well and understood when she was actually sad and when she just let the sadness extend to the matters she wouldn't have ordinarily cared for.

The duo calmly stood alongside other servants before dispersing.

"How are you?" Kai inquired as they walked side-by-side. "Did you sleep at all last night?"

Kushina suddenly yawned at the mention of resting, shaking her head. "I didn't, and you can't make me! All you keep insisting on is how to rest and look after myself. Hmph… I'll sleep when I'm feeling like it." Saying so, Kushina yawned again.

Kai softly smiled as he looped his arm around her neck.

"Ah!" Kushina yelped as Kai snickered. "Good. Let's cook you some piping hot ramen!"

Kushina grew silent.

"Why?" she questioned after crossing half the distance to the residence.

"Hmm?"

"Why did they attack Uzu?" Kushina quietly quivered as the gentle drizzle picked up its pace. She tilted her body and embraced Kai, weeping again.

Kai knew the answer but knew she wouldn't like it.

'I guess… the Uzumaki Clan couldn't compete with three villages. Nobody would have attacked them if they could defend against the combined might of all Shinobi Villages.'

"The other villages were greedy…" Kai replied, knowing the truth.

'Uzushiogakure wasn't strong enough.'
