Quirkless Hero

Chapter 33: Chapter 33. The Mountain Lady's Sister.

Midoriya Izuku has been feeling strange lately. He always feels like someone is watching him at school. Because of his long-term training in sensing, Izuku is very sensitive to this.

This feeling is especially strong when he goes to Hero Course Class A, eats lunch in the cafeteria, or goes home after school. He always feels a burning gaze fixed on him.

Midoriya is very suspicious. Is someone targeting him?

But in U.A. High School, besides Hatsume Mei and Shinso Hitoshi who know his disguised identity, no one else knows, right?

And his hidden secret, being the "Steel Wire Death God" Akaya Kaiun, is something he fears being discovered. So, who could be watching him?

After telling Shinso Hitoshi and Hatsume Mei about this.

"Let me handle it. My 'Brainwashing' Quirk will make sure to find out who is watching you!"

"No! This is school, don't use your Quirk recklessly!"

Midoriya waved off Shinso's suggestion. Using such a controlling Quirk at school could have bad consequences. Then Hatsume Mei said:

"Midoriya-chan, just find a chance to draw out the person watching you and ask them why."

"That's the only way..."

Taking Hatsume Mei's advice, Midoriya thought it was doable. Since he didn't know the person's intentions, he couldn't judge if it was good or bad.

The next day, Midoriya Izuku went to the Hero Course again. He heard they just had All Might's Hero Basics class, and Izuku was very envious!

When he sneaked into the Hero Course classroom, it was rare that Bakugo didn't come over to insult him. Instead, Uraraka Ochako, Iida Tenya, and Ojiro Mashirao warmly surrounded him.

"What's wrong with Kacchan...?"

Glancing over, Midoriya saw Bakugo Katsuki resting his face on his hand, looking very upset. Izuku was surprised. Who could make Bakugo look so defeated?

"During All Might's Hero Basics class, the students were divided into groups for practical exercises. Bakugo's group lost the match."

"Huh?"

Uraraka Ochako kindly answered Midoriya's question, making him even more curious. Who did Bakugo lose to?

"It was me, paired with Bakugo, and we lost to Uraraka's team!"

"What!!"

Iida Tenya adjusted his glasses and stated the fact, making Midoriya Izuku's jaw drop. Uraraka Ochako defeated Iida and Bakugo?!

"Don't give me too much credit. I didn't help much. It was all thanks to Takeyama-san!"

Feeling embarrassed, Ochako scratched her head, making Midoriya even more curious.

"Takeyama-san?"

"That one!" Ojiro Mashirao pointed, and Midoriya looked over to see a cute girl with dark blue hair, cut to her neck, and a very good figure.

As Midoriya glanced over, he noticed the girl was staring at him. When she saw Izuku looking, she blushed and shyly turned her head away.

"Sigh, is that Takeyama-san?"

"Takeyama-san is amazing! She became as big as a building and easily subdued Iida and Bakugo with one hand!"

Ochako exaggerated, and Midoriya imagined Bakugo being lifted like a little chick, making him cover his mouth to stifle a laugh.

"Wait, is Takeyama-san's Quirk gigantification?" Midoriya Izuku suddenly realized. When he was in the third year of middle school, a female hero with a gigantification Quirk, "Mount Lady," had just debuted and quickly became popular due to her Quirk and beauty.

"Takeyama-san is Mount Lady's younger sister!"

Seeing that Midoriya had guessed correctly, Ochako kindly explained, which cleared up Midoriya's confusion.

Thinking about it now, Midoriya understood why Bakugo was so upset. Being overpowered by a girl must have been really frustrating for him.

"A gigantification Quirk is really amazing..."

After getting enough gossip about the practical training from Uraraka and Iida, Midoriya happily went back. He couldn't neglect his own studies.

Hatsume Mei's roller shoes had more than ten functions that needed to be familiarized with, and Midoriya had only just mastered the basic movement. He spent all his extra time practicing at school.

As it was almost time to go home, Midoriya Izuku naturally walked along his usual route, but he noticed someone quietly following him.

"Here they come?"

Midoriya Izuku was very alert today. He had sensed someone following him since he left the school gate, but with so many students leaving, he couldn't turn around.

Even though he knew someone was following him, he couldn't alert them. Midoriya kept walking towards the subway station as if nothing was wrong.

Sure enough, the person following him kept a steady pace behind him. But just as Midoriya was about to reach the subway station, he felt the person stop.

"Now!"

Using the crowd as cover, Midoriya changed direction and circled around to see who was watching him.

"Midoriya..."

A girl with dark blue hair reached out as if to stop the person who had just taken the subway home. But when Midoriya's figure disappeared into the crowd, her hand dropped weakly.

"I still can't muster the courage..."

The girl bit her lip. She had been watching and following Midoriya Izuku for a while, wanting to talk to him, but always got too nervous at the crucial moment.

"Next time! Next time for sure!"

The girl clenched her fist, encouraging herself. She had been saying this every day since entering U.A., but always got scared at the critical moment.

"No more next time!" Midoriya Izuku suddenly appeared from the side. He finally caught the person who had been following him, and was stunned when he saw who it was.

"Takeyama-san?"

"Huh? Huh! Huh huh!?"

The dark blue-haired girl pointed at the subway and then at Midoriya Izuku in front of her. Didn't she just see him take the subway home? Yueshan was in a state of panic!

"Takeyama-san? Why are you following me..."

Midoriya Izuku was equally confused. He had imagined all kinds of people following him, but never a cute girl.

Midoriya Izuku accidentally discovered Takeyama-san's true identity, so she bravely took his hand and led him away!

"Come with me, it's not convenient to talk here!"

The subway station was crowded and noisy, not a good place for a private conversation. Midoriya, confused, was pulled away by Takeyama-san.

---

At a café, Midoriya Izuku had never been to such a place before. As a high school freshman, he had no reason to come here. But now, he was brought here by Takeyama-san.

With a confused look on his face, Takeyama-san finally said what she had been holding back for a long time.

"Midoriya... do you remember me?"

"Hmmm? I just heard about you from other classmates today!"

Recalling his memories, Midoriya Izuku swore he didn't know any cute girl like Takeyama-san.

"My name is Takeyama Urei, does that ring a bell?"

"Um..."

Takeyama Urei told Midoriya her full name. Midoriya felt it sounded familiar, but it seemed like something from a long time ago.

Seeing Midoriya trying hard to remember, Takeyama Urei sighed. It seemed he didn't remember the past.

"Do you remember the little boy who was bullied by Bakugo when you were five?"

"What?!"

Takeyama Urei's words stunned Midoriya. Memories flooded back. He remembered being beaten up by Bakugo while trying to save someone. He still remembered the words:

"Midoriya, you are the hero!"

Now he recalled that the little boy moved away shortly after, and his name was... Takeyama Urei?

"Wait, you're Takeyama Urei?!"

Midoriya was shocked. He looked at the cute girl in front of him, with her impressive figure, and realized she was the same Takeyama Urei who was a little boy back then!

"Back then, no one wanted to play hero games with girls, and my name was quite neutral."

Takeyama Urei explained to Midoriya. At around five years old, boys and girls were hard to tell apart. Since hero games were popular among kids and usually didn't include girls, she simply said she was a boy.

"I never would have guessed, this is amazing!"

Midoriya Izuku didn't know what to say. The little boy bullied by Bakugo had turned into a cute girl. And according to Uraraka, Takeyama Urei had even subdued Bakugo with one hand. Talk about a turn of events.

"But with such a strong Quirk, why were you bullied by Kacchan and the others back then?"

Knowing the girl in front of him was his old neighbor Takeyama Urei, Midoriya relaxed and chatted with her.

"My Quirk hadn't shown up back then, or I would have beaten him up!"

Takeyama Urei got angry talking about Bakugo. She had been bullied a lot by him as a child.

"Yeah, Kacchan wasn't very likable back then..."

Midoriya Izuku, who was also bullied, used to get beaten up by Bakugo a lot when he was a kid.

"He still isn't likable now. I really don't know why U.A. let someone like him into the Hero Course!"

Takeyama Urei, who had a strong opinion about Bakugo, gathered her courage and said to Izuku:

"Midoriya, you are more suitable for the Hero Course. You are my hero!"

"That was all in the past..."

Midoriya awkwardly turned his head to the side, feeling shy and scratching the back of his head. The girl in front of him seemed to have more to say, but Izuku didn't dare to find out!

He felt like he was in an unexpected situation!

"I didn't expect you to come to U.A. High School too, Midoriya. It's so great to see you!"

Breaking the awkwardness, Takeyama Urei congratulated the hero in front of her. She hadn't seen Midoriya since she moved away, and now she was so happy to see him at U.A. High School.

"I'm in the Support Course now, but I didn't expect the 'Takeyama-san' Uraraka mentioned to be you?"

Similarly, Midoriya Izuku didn't expect the little boy from before to become a cute girl and attend the Hero Course at U.A.

"By the way, Midoriya... are you close with Uraraka?"

As soon as Midoriya mentioned Uraraka, Takeyama Urei nervously asked. She didn't know what kind of relationship Izuku and Ochako had.

"I saved her during the entrance exam, so I guess we're friends now?"

Thinking it over, Midoriya labeled his relationship with Ochako as friends.

"Is that so, just friends~"

Hearing that Midoriya and Ochako were just friends, Takeyama Urei's tense expression relaxed. She didn't want her new friend to become a rival!

"By the way, does Kacchan know your identity?"

Midoriya remembered that Takeyama Urei was his childhood neighbor, just like Bakugo Katsuki. They were childhood playmates and knew each other well.

"I don't want him to know. That annoying guy can go to hell!!"

Talking about Bakugo, Takeyama Urei's attitude turned very nasty, as if she saw a disgusting bug she wanted to crush.

"Don't say that... Kacchan still has some good points... like..."

Trying to defend Bakugo, Midoriya Izuku wanted to list Bakugo's good points, but he couldn't find any and his voice grew smaller.

"Looks like a villain?"

"Agreed! That's his only good point!!"

Takeyama Urei raised both hands in agreement, while Midoriya Izuku covered his face in embarrassment. He recalled his experiences with Bakugo, and all he could remember was Bakugo's villainous behavior, with no heroic qualities at all!

"By the way, I never knew why you suddenly moved away!"

Recalling memories of Takeyama Urei, Midoriya Izuku only remembered playing with her and other kids, but didn't know why she left without saying goodbye.

"It was all because of that jerk Bakugo!!"

Takeyama Urei, with a puffed-up face, told her story!

"When I was a kid, I often came home covered in bruises. My parents knew I was being bullied by the local kids. Since my sister got into a hero school, we decided to move!"

"Actually, it's because your sister got into the hero school, right?"

Midoriya kept this thought to himself. He watched as Takeyama blamed everything on Bakugo Katsuki, thinking it was just karma...
