Pokemon:God Level Player

"Come out, Froakie. Let me heal you first," Satoshi said as he tossed the Great Ball, releasing the injured Froakie.

"Quack!"

Froakie let out a pitiful cry, clearly still in pain.

"Alright, alright, I'll take care of you right away," Satoshi reassured, crouching down with a gentle smile. He extended his hand toward Froakie.

The Power of the Evergreen activated.

A faint white light surrounded Satoshi's hand, and in moments, Froakie's injuries were completely healed.

"Quack?"

Froakie looked at its own body in disbelief. Just moments ago, it had been battered and bruised, but now it was fully healed.

However, like most Pokémon, Froakie didn't overthink the situation. Realizing it was healthy again, it hopped up happily and rubbed its head against Satoshi's palm.

"From now on, we're partners. Let's do our best together, Froakie."

"Quack~~"

Froakie let out a contented cry, clearly recognizing Satoshi as its Trainer. Pokémon were simple and loyal creatures by nature—once captured, they dedicated themselves to their Trainer.

"By the way, I've got something perfect for you. Here, take this."

Satoshi pulled out the Skill Machine [Ice Beam] and handed it to Froakie.

> "Ding! Froakie can learn [Ice Beam]. Do you want to continue using it?"

"Use it!"

> "Ding! Froakie has learned [Ice Beam]."

Just like the Flamethrower Skill Machine before it, the Ice Beam machine returned to its original state after use, showing that it could still be used.

Satoshi: "???"

"This version really is broken... unlimited-use Skill Machines. I'll definitely be saving this for later."

As Satoshi prepared to continue leveling, an Oddish wandered into view.

Attribute: Grass/Poison

Ability: Chlorophyll

Level: 7

Potential: Elite]

"Well, considering I just ran into one of the three starters, I guess an Oddish appearing here isn't too surprising."

Satoshi shrugged. It was just an Oddish, nothing special compared to Froakie or Charmander.

"Still, it's a good chance for practice. Froakie, this one's yours."

"Quack!"

Froakie hopped forward eagerly.

Even though Froakie was only level 5 and the Oddish was level 7, Satoshi wasn't concerned. Levels didn't decide battles outright, especially with Froakie's Protean ability and its newly learned Ice Beam.

"Froakie, start with [Ice Beam]!"

"Quack!"

Froakie opened its mouth, gathering a sphere of icy energy before unleashing a freezing beam of light toward Oddish.

"Do? Do!"

Oddish noticed the incoming attack too late to dodge. Instinctively, it retaliated, shooting out spinning leaves that hurtled toward Froakie.

"Wait... is that Razor Leaf? Oddish can learn this at level 7? That's... unusual."

Despite his surprise, Satoshi remained calm. "No matter. Froakie's [Protean] makes it an Ice-type now, so Grass moves don't hit as hard. Froakie, take the hit and keep going!"

Protean had already activated, changing Froakie's type to Ice. As a result, the Grass-type Razor Leaf only inflicted minor damage.

Meanwhile, the Ice Beam struck Oddish directly, severely injuring it. To make matters worse for Oddish, the move triggered its freezing effect, encasing it in ice.

"It actually triggered the freeze effect. Nice! Froakie, finish it with [Pound]!"

Froakie leaped toward the frozen Oddish, its hands glowing faintly, and delivered a powerful blow.

The frozen and already-weakened Oddish collapsed immediately.

> "Ding! Froakie gained 104 experience points!"

"Ding! Froakie has leveled up to Lv7!"

"Ding! Player 'Satoshi,' your Pokémon 'Froakie' is now Level 7 and qualifies for the Level Leaderboard. Would you like to register it? If so, would you like to hide your name?"

"Register it. And no, don't hide my name. Oh, and don't ask me again—just put me on the list without hiding my name from now on."

Satoshi grinned smugly, imagining how frustrated other players would be.

He had just captured Froakie, and now it was already second on the Potential Leaderboard and climbing the Level Leaderboard.

"Froakie, you did great. Let's keep going. We'll level up and find someone at the same time."

Satoshi healed Froakie with the Power of the Evergreen and set off with Froakie and Charmander toward Viridian City.

"Who am I looking for, you ask? A kind soul with a hidden quest, of course."

As Satoshi walked, his grin widened mischievously.
