Pokemon: These Players are too annoying!

Chapter 63: Red vs Blue: First fight (2)

"2 step ahead... so I was the villain after all..."

"Shut- shut the fuck up"

Some players stayed in the city to complete missions or were training for an upcoming challenge against the gym leader. Among them were not Birdup, Oceanlover, and Bigchef. Oceanlover was searching for the Pokémon he wanted, while Birdup and Bigchef were just tagging along.

"As I see it, if Pokémon are edible, it means I can cook anything!"

"Dude, you're grossing me out," Birdup stuck out their tongue, moving away from Bigchef.

"But I saw someone cook something like... Slowpoke's tail? Did I read that right?"

"Why are you asking me?"

"Hey! I found something!" Oceanlover pointed under the lake.

The two came closer to see and realized it was a Pokémon.

"Let's see..." Birdup pulled out a book, flipping through the pages.

Since players after the first five didn't spawn in Oak's lab, they didn't receive a Pokédex—quite unfortunate for them.

"Oh, here it is. It's a Water-type Pokémon (obviously) called Goldeen."

"Look at its lips, so thick," Bigchef poked Goldeen's lips.

"Perfect for kissing."

"Get lost, fish lover."

"Alright! This will be my first Pokémon!" Oceanlover pulled out a Pokéball, ready to throw it.

Suddenly, lightning struck the sea, hitting every Pokémon in its path.

One by one, all the Water-type Pokémon floated to the surface, knocked out.

"...Huh?" Oceanlover couldn't believe their eyes.

All three players panicked, looking around and noticing some kind of battle happening near the bridge.

"Pewdiepie's bridge!"

"Shut up. Who's fighting over there?"

Then they remembered two people had Electric-type Pokémon.

One was a silent NPC with an ultra-cool vibe.

The other was a smug, handsome NPC who always looked down on them.

"It's probably Red and Blue," Birdup said.

"Hmm... Should we go check it out?"

"Wait a sec! I have to catch this Pokémon first!" Oceanlover stopped the other two, throwing a Pokéball at the unconscious Goldeen.

After a moment, the ball wobbled, then clicked shut.

"YOOOOOO, I GOT MY FIRST POKÉMON! WINK!"

"Stop posing, you're an adult."

"But in this game, we're 10 years old, what's wrong with striking a pose?"

"Can we go now?" Bigchef asked the other two.

"Of course—"

"WAIT! I HAVE TO CATCH THAT OCTOPUS!"

"Fuck off."

"Oh, it seems like the battle is getting intense- WHAT?! Why are there so many people here?!"

All three headed over to watch the battle between Red and Blue, but what they didn't expect was the large crowd of NPCs also gathered to watch.

They were all discussing, eager to see how the battle would unfold.

"Um... how long has this battle been going on?" Birdup asked a brown-haired girl dressed in a school uniform standing next to him.

"Huh? Oh, this battle has been going on for five minutes already."

"What? Five minutes? Isn't that kind of long?" Oceanlover looked at the battle in front of him in shock.

"DODGE, ELEKID!"

A loud voice shouted, followed by a thunderbolt attack that blinded everyone around. The deafening thunder made everyone cover their ears as they watched the battle unfold.

Elekid was sweating, while Pikachu remained calm, staring intently at its opponent.

"Looks like Blue's in a tough spot," Birdup commented, watching the battle with interest.

Red and Blue were both seriously focused on each other, but if you looked closely, you could see Blue sweating just a little.

'As expected of my friend, only you could push me this far,' Blue thought, as a smile crept across his face.

"Red, you've trained your Pikachu well. After all, it's your starter Pokémon, so I understand."

"But! I'm going to show you that I haven't been slacking either!"

Blue's confident demeanor, even while at a disadvantage, made Red raise an eyebrow.

"Elekid, use it!"

Elekid turned to look at Blue as if asking if he was sure.

"Trust me, whether we win or lose, that's on me, so don't worry!"

Hearing this, Elekid smiled. Then, suddenly, Elekid pulled something out (wait, how did you even get that?).

Red glanced over and realized that Elekid was holding a Toxic Orb! But why a Toxic Orb?!

The moment Elekid grabbed the Toxic Orb, its face turned pale.

Elekid had been poisoned!

"A Toxic Orb? This is the first time I've seen one!" Leaf said, curious.

Kanto, known for having many powerful exclusive Pokémon, had a weaker economy compared to other regions (though still slightly better than Alola).

As a result, not many people here owned personal phones, while neighboring regions like Johto at least had communication devices.

Therefore, having an item from outside this region was rare unless you were rich.

Red couldn't figure out what Blue was trying to do, and Pikachu cautiously watched Elekid.

"Facade!"

The moment Blue gave the command, Elekid, now sweating, raised its fist to strike Pikachu.

Pikachu easily dodged to the side.

'Facade? What kind of move is that?' Red thought anxiously, hearing the move for the first time.

"Keep using Facade!"

Though Elekid was taking damage from the poison, it continued its assault on Pikachu.

Pikachu tried to dodge again but slipped.

"!!"

Elekid seized the opportunity and landed a direct hit on Pikachu's stomach.

Pikachu nearly vomited from the pain, clutching its belly in agony.

Pika!!! (AGHH!!!)

Seeing this, Red realized what Blue was up to. He was aiming for a quick win before his own Pokémon was faint!

This wasn't good!

Red quickly ordered Pikachu to use Iron Tail, but Pikachu struggled as the repeated Facade attacks inflicted unbearable pain.

Blue took advantage of that moment again.

"Keep using Facade!"

Elekid charged forward, ready to land another punch. Seeing Elekid approach, Pikachu forced herself to stand.

Her tail turned to steel, and she blocked the incoming attack just in time.

Blue smiled when he saw Pikachu breathing heavily. She had been paralyzed!

'Static?!' Red broke into a sweat, starting to worry about this battle.

Both trainers locked eyes, then gave their commands simultaneously.

"...!"

"FACADE!!"

Unfortunately for Red, luck was on Blue's side. Pikachu couldn't move due to the paralysis and took Elekid's attack head-on. With just one punch, Pikachu was sent flying, landing right in front of Red.

Pikachu was faint!

"Pikachu is unable to battle! Elekid wins!"

"Well done, Elekid!"

Elekid raised both arms in victory, letting out another roar. Then, it collapsed, fainting as well.

"..."

Blue had been incredibly lucky this time. If Pikachu had dodged that attack, Elekid would've been knocked out by its own poison.

"Elekid is unable to battle! The match is a draw!"

Both trainers recalled their Pokémon and stared at each other once again.

Alright, can you two stop staring at each other? You're making me think you're in love or something!

"Red, you're going to lose!" Blue called out, taking his final Pokéball and looking at Red.

"..."

Both threw their Pokéballs.

Charmander!

Wartortle!

'...sending an unevolved Pokémon against an evolved one isn't really a smart idea,' everyone thought the same thing.

"But who knows what kind of strategy Red will pull off? I'm really looking forward to it," Oceanlover said excitedly.
