Pokemon: My Fate System Is Too Overpowered!!

Chapter 10: Chapter 9: Electivire—Level 80

"I'm home!"

Ryuu kicked off his shoes and collapsed onto the couch, stretching out with a sigh.

"Eleee!"

A deep, rumbling voice greeted him.

A massive Electivire stood nearby, sparks of electricity crackling across its fur.

One of the biggest risks of raising Electric-type Pokémon?

They tended to discharge electricity when excited—whether they meant to or not.

It wasn't strong enough to be dangerous, but it was definitely strong enough to remind you how fragile humans really were.

"Hey, Electivire."

Ryuu raised his hand in greeting.

Then, out of curiosity, he activated the Eye of Data—

And what he saw made his heart race.

---

[Pokémon: Electivire (Electric-type)]

Gender: Female

Level: 80 (Elite-tier, Peak Level)

Ability: Motor Drive (Absorbs Electric-type attacks to boost Speed)

Nature: Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)

Moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Brick Break…

Potential: Elite Level

---

Ryuu's eyes gleamed.

This thing was an absolute monster.

His father's ace Pokémon—just one step away from Champion-level.

But its potential had already peaked, meaning it would never break through to that final stage.

If only they could get their hands on a Magnet, an ultra-rare Electric-type treasure that could push an Elite Pokémon to the next level.

Unfortunately, those legendary-tier items were so rare that even in a superpower nation like Kanto, only a handful of Trainers had ever obtained one.

And because of that, even in such a Trainer-dominated world, Champion-level Trainers were still incredibly rare.

Most Trainers—even the best ones—never made it past the Quasi-Champion stage.

Like his grandfather, for example.

His grandpa's Electivire and Ampharos had reached Champion-tier, but the rest of his team hadn't—making him a "Champion Candidate" rather than a true Champion.

As for his father's Electivire…

It was descended from his grandfather's Electivire, but had only Elite-tier potential.

It was still a powerhouse, but without the right resources, it wouldn't go beyond that.

Ryuu made a mental note—

If he ever found a Magnet, he'd give it to his dad.

After all, he had a system.

He didn't need to specialize in Electric-types—his opportunities were limitless.

For now…

He just needed to keep looking for people with Red or Gold Destiny threads—then steal their luck for himself.

If he played it right…

He could reach Champion-level before turning twenty.

A wild dream? Maybe.

But Ryuu never played small.

---

At that moment—

His father, Fujiwara Daiki, rushed into the room.

"Son! You're back! What Pokémon did you get?!"

Daiki grinned like a bandit, eyes sparkling with excitement.

Almost immediately, his mother, Fujiwara Sumire, shoved him aside.

"Move! Let me see my son's Pokémon first!"

Sumire was even more excited than Daiki, practically pushing him out of the way.

Daiki groaned in frustration.

"Why do you always do this?! Ryuu's my son too!"

Sumire ignored him completely, her eyes locked onto Ryuu with pure anticipation.

Ryuu sighed, pulling out his Poké Ball.

"Froakie, come out."

With a soft flash of light, Froakie appeared—immediately hopping into Ryuu's arms and curling up.

His parents stared.

And then—

Daiki's expression darkened.

"A Water-type?!"

He looked genuinely betrayed.

"Ryuu, you're the heir to an Electric-type legacy—why would you choose a Pokémon that's weak to Electric-types?!"

Sumire, on the other hand, was beaming.

"I think it's adorable! And Froakie's a great choice!"

"Mom gets it."

Ryuu smirked, patting Froakie's head.

Meanwhile, Daiki looked like he was going through an existential crisis.

"You… You really don't want an Electric-type?"

"Not really."

Daiki clutched his chest, as if physically wounded.

"At least you didn't pick a Ground-type…"

"Relax, I didn't have any thought of having a ground type as my starter anyway.!"

"…Oh. Good."

Daiki still looked disappointed, but at least he wasn't on the verge of collapsing anymore.

Sumire, however, was completely on board.

"Who cares about type matchups? As long as Ryuu likes it, that's all that matters!"

"Easy for you to say. This means my gym won't have an heir!"

Ryuu rolled his eyes.

"Dad, it's not that serious."

Daiki rubbed his temples.

"You're impossible."

Then—

He suddenly perked up again, as if he'd just thought of something.

"Son, listen—your grandpa's Electivire laid another egg. We can have him bring it over!"

Ryuu paused.

His grandfather's Electivire?

A Champion-tier Pokémon?

That meant there was a chance the egg could produce a Pokémon with Champion-level potential.

His eyes narrowed in thought.

If it really did have Champion potential, it would be worth raising alongside Froakie.

"Yeah, alright," Ryuu said after a moment.

"If it hatches with high potential, I'll raise it myself. If not, we can give it away."

Sumire nodded approvingly.

"Exactly! If it's got great potential, keep it! Otherwise, let your cousins have it."

Ryuu's expression darkened slightly at the mention of his cousins.

His grandfather had three children—his father, and his two aunts.

The problem?

His cousins from his aunts' families were all spoiled brats who had grown up acting like arrogant rich kids—just because their grandfather was an Elite-tier Trainer.

Meanwhile, Ryuu had spent his entire life training seriously, focusing on actual skill and strategy.

It was infuriating to see his cousins walk around like they were royalty—despite the fact that they had achieved nothing on their own.

His grandfather wasn't blind to this.

That's why he favored Ryuu over them.

If the Elekid egg turned out to be strong, his grandfather would absolutely want Ryuu to keep it.

If it turned out weak?

Then the spoiled cousins could fight over it.

Ryuu smirked.

"Sounds good to me."

His father grinned.

"That's the spirit!"

---

"Alright, enough talk!" Sumire suddenly clapped her hands together, standing up.

"We're celebrating tonight! A big dinner—Ryuu just got his first Pokémon!"

She practically danced into the kitchen, humming as she started preparing food.

Ryuu just shook his head with a smile.

His mom was like that.

And honestly?

It was nice.

Leaning back into the couch, he glanced down at Froakie, who was already dozing off in his lap.

His journey was just beginning.

But one thing was certain—

He was going to become Champion.

And no one was going to stop him.
