Pokémon Kyanite and Copper (Revised Version)

Third person POV

 After some time, Dawn's Piplup ate all of its food, and it became sad. However, Riolu, having a lot of Pokemon food in its bowl, decides to share half of it with Piplup, and this makes Piplup happy once more.

 "Wow, your Riolu is very generous," Dawn commented brightly to Rico upon noticing that.

 "Yeah, I saw it," responded Rico back with positivity. Then to Riolu, "Nice job, Riolu." Riolu then responded with happiness.

This was followed by a short silence.

 "So, Rico," Dawn asked breaking the silence, "do you have parents?"

 "Oh, yes," answered Rico back positively, "I do. Lucas is my father, and Rosario is my mother."

 "Oh, I see," Dawn replied back as she processed the information. "How about any siblings?"

 "I do have one," Rico responded back. And then, his tone turned to sadness, and he continued, "But, he disappeared while fighting against some Pokémon thieves who are attempting to brainwash Arceus."

Dawn then became concerned, and she replied, "Oh, I understand you."

 "Yeah," replied Rico back with a sad tone, "and we had waiting for his return." He then stands up and stretches his arms a bit. He then continued, "But still, we had been waiting for his return no matter what." Riolu, who had been listening to Rico's story, then felt bad for his loss.

 And then, suddenly, a voice from the distance called Rico, "Hello there, kid." This snaps them from their sad state, and all of them get alerted. The Pokémon Pinchers are back, this time, with their admin, Red Eye, on their Z.Z. Flyers. Their appearance caused a commotion in the village square, where the food fair was being held, despite the distance between the bench and the food fair itself.

And as most of the people watch the confrontation, Rico responds to this seriously, "You!"

 "So," Red Eye said to Rico, "you're that kid who foiled my grunts' plan to capture a Riolu?"

 "Yes," answered Rico back seriously, "yes, I am. I became Riolu's Trainer, sort of."

 "Um, Rico, is those are the Pokémon thieves you are talking about?" Dawn asked Rico in mild terror.

 "Yes, those are the Pokémon thieves," Rico replied back seriously.

Angered by Rico's exposure, Red Eye said to him, "How dare you expose us?"

 "Heh, I can expose anything if necessary," Rico responded back in style.

This makes Red Eye even more angrier.

 "That's it!"

He called out his Pokémon, a Cranidos, and it stepped into battle mind-controlled.

 "What the…?" Rico reacted to that. "A Cranidos?"

 "Impossible," Dawn added.

 "Use Zen Headbutt!" Red Eye commanded Cranidos. Cranidos then used Zen Headbutt, focusing its willpower on its head, and rams to Dawn's Piplup and Quilava, who both got direct hits. Due to the impact, smoke clouds them around.

 "Piplup! Quilava!" Dawn responded to this. "Are you two alright?"

As Piplup and Quilava get up, Riolu steps into battle, facing Cranidos seriously. This also freaks Rico out, who then warns it, "No, don't! I don't have any training!"

But then, suddenly, words of his memorization of Pokémon moves echo in his head. With that in mind, Rico turned serious and commanded Riolu, "Riolu, use Quick Attack!"

Riolu then used Quick Attack, charging at Cranidos at a fast pace, striking Cranidos with minimum damage.

This shocks Red Eye and Dawn and delights Rico a lot.

 "What?!"

 "Woah."

 "Way to go, Riolu!"

Riolu then responded back with positive happiness.

But, this also angers Red Eye a lot.

 "Argh! Cranidos, use Zen Headbutt!"

Cranidos then used Zen Headbutt, focusing its willpower to its head and rams towards Riolu.

 "Riolu, use Karate Chop!" Rico quickly and seriously commanded Riolu.

 Riolu then charged towards Cranidos and used Karate Chop, attacking Cranidos with a sharp chop, striking Cranidos effectively. This weakens Cranidos a bit, causing Red Eye to be shocked with anger. Dawn and her team watched the scene with astonishment at Rico's beginner skills as a Pokémon Trainer.

And then, Rico immediately commanded Riolu, "Then use Focus Blast!"

Riolu then used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashing its power, striking Cranidos so effectively that it defeated it, thus ending Rico's first Pokémon battle.

 Now being defeated by a mere kid, Red Eye called his now defeated Cranidos, and vowed to Rico, "We'll be back for this!" He and his team of grunts then fled the scene. The people then applaud Rico's action towards them. In response to that, Rico and Dawn turned around and waved at the crowd of people.
