Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - Starly, the Scared Pokémon
Later, at 9:20 a.m., Rico and his team decided to grab the shoulder bag and shopping paper bag and go home. Later, after exiting the mall and traversing through the city, Rico and his team decided to stop by at a nearby beach village and lie down on the green, soft grass and visit the village itself before going home. After laying down, Rico looked at the grey sky with clouds, both white and dark grey, sailing across.
"I wondered if the salamangkero's sayings were true," he thought in his mind in wondering. "I mean, I saw the signs of a storm coming, so yeah, it's true."
While Rico was looking and thinking, the local residents and their Pokémon are pulling their boats from the beach to further land to avoid being destroyed by the waves. Others are barricading their homes and businesses with construction materials like wooden planks and steel roofs to prevent the water from entering. Others are packing up their belongings to relocate temporarily to an evacuation center in the city.
And once he felt that the winds are getting stronger and colder, Rico and his team get up and went to the beach village. And as they traverse through the narrow streets, they suddenly saw a bunch of Starlys, seven in total, shivering together in a small, broken shed.
"Are those Starlys?" Rico asked himself. He then pulled his Pokédex and pointed it towards one of the Starlys; his Pokédex then tresponded, "Starly, the Starling Pokémon. A Normal and Flying-type. They flock in great numbers. Though small, they flap their wings with great power."
"Woah, so cool," Rico commented. He then put his Pokédex back in his pants pocket, and talked to the Starlys, "Hey, Starlys, are all of you okay?"
The Starlys then shook their heads while still shivering against the cold.
"Oh, I see," Rico responded back, "How about I'll taking care of all of you at to my home until the storm is over?"
But, the Starlys are too hesitant to come with him and his team because of their fear.
"Oh, okay then," Rico replied without any retaliation or force. "Then, I'll give you something."
He then searches in his bag and get one, wide cloth he got from one of his classmates and wrapped it around the Starlys, giving them warmth. The Starlys then stopped shivering and embraced the warmth the cloth gave.
"There, was it nice?" Rico asked them positively.
The Starlys then responded by nodding to say yes.
"Good, I'll see you around," Rico said to them with a promise. He and his team then left the shed and went to the beach nearby.
And as Rico and his team are looking at the waves, Rico thought, "It's getting stronger and stronger…"
But his thinking got interrupted when Shion and her Absol confronted him and his team.
"Rico," Shion said to him seriously.
Turning around upon hearing her calling his name, Rico responded back, "Oh, hey, Shion, how are you?"
"Don't say that in front of me, Rico," responded Shion back seriously. "I know you are lucky to catch a Riolu."
Not understanding this, Rico just replied, "Excuse me?"
"Isn't too obvious?" Shion retorted back. "You are so lucky to get one."
"Well, thanks for the compliment," Rico happily and positively responded back, unaware of the rivalry.
Annoyed by this, Shion replied back, "Don't play dumb! I can't believe you are actually did it!"
"Did what?"
"Getting a Riolu!"
But then, a coast guard came down from his post and gave the two kids a good scolding for playing in the beach in a dangerous weather.
"Oh, sorry!" Rico apologized to the coast guard almost immediately upon hearing him. "We'll go."
With that, the coast guard went back inside his post.
After that, Shion turned towards Rico and vowed, "We're not done yet, Rico, remember that." She and her Absol then turned around and walked away towards the beach village.
Perplexed by this, Rico thought in his mind, "What in the world is she talking about?"
But, he shrugged it off, and hie and his team then left the beach and to back to the beach village went home instead.
Upon reaching home, Rico and his team are surprised to see Ben and his Pichu staying at his house.
"Um, what are you doing here?" Rico asked Ben.
"Oh, hey, Rico," Ben greetings him positively. "Sorry for going here. The weather was so bad that it might blow away my tent."
"Oh, it's okay then," Rico agreed with him. "You may stay here as long as you needed."
"Thanks."
Meanwhile, Rosario was shopping for groceries for lunch and dinner while Lucas was at work.
