Chapter 18: Chapter 18 - Traveling with a Pokémon
A few days later, it's Saturday, and Rico was excited to pay Wesley a visit at Muñoz Town. And at the breakfast table, Rico announced his plans for today to his parents.
"Oh, okay then," Lucas agreed with him. "After all, you would do nothing but train all day, right?"
"Yeah," Rico happily replied back. "And I'll be back by late afternoon or tonight."
"Okay, but I'll be a bit longer at work," Lucas gave him a reminder in response, "so take a taxi, okay?"
"Okay!"
"You had a bus card and a train card, right?"
"Yes, dad, I had them in my bag all the time."
"Okay, that's good."
Then, Rosario reminded him, "Be safe out there, okay?"
"Okay, mom," Rico positively responded back.
Later after breakfast and taking a shower, Rico went to his bedroom to dress up for today. First of all, he put on his plain, red t-shirt, and then top it off with a light green, sky blue, and white striped, long-sleeved, hooded jacket, with red-orange zipper part and area. He then leave the zipper unzipped, showing his red shirt. Next. He put on his brown pants with pockets, before putting on his white socks and dark blue and dark red shoes with no shoelaces. He then put Riolu's Poké Ball in his dark green and dark blue shoulder bag, which had a blue main zipper on top and 3 small pockets with zippers, alongside his main journal, a black gel pen and a blue gel pen, a forest green highlighter, a paperback novel, and his smartphone.
His jacket, however, was predominantly sky blue, with apple green stripes running across the sleeves, the front body of the jacket itself, from top to bottom, and lastly, at the end part of the sleeves, except that it was next to the white part, both run around the sleeves. It also had white stripes running horizontally across his jacket, a golden-colored, ball-like round decoration at the top of his jacket that can be split up and reattach, and a red-orange zipper and zipper area. For the finishing touches, there are four pockets at the front of the jacket, two normal and two with buttoned flaps. But, in the back of the jacket, there is an M-shaped emblem imprinted that may or may not be connected with Lucas' origins.
After that, Rico returned downstairs, with his shoulder bag, and ride in his father's car towards East Kawayan City Railway Station. But, the weird thing is that although Rico has seen the emblem on his jacket, he never asked his father about it.
Later while in the car, Lucas said to Rico, "I'll be dropping you at the East Kawayan City Railway Station. Is that okay as well."
Rico, looking at the windshield positively, then agreed with him, "Yes, that'll be great."
Not long after, they had arrived at the entrance of Kawayan City's East Railway Station. Rico then got off with his shoulder bag, and said thank you and goodbye to his father.
"You're welcome, son," Lucas responded back happily. "Good luck out there." He then drove off towards his workplace.
With that, Rico entered the station building and to the cashiers to purchase a ticket to Muñoz Town.
"Okay, that'll be 100 PoPoké Dollars, kid," the cashier meekly said to him. "Cash or card?"
In response, Rico opened his bag and get his wallet, before unzipping it and get his train card and give to the cashier. As Rico zipped back his wallet, the cashier swiped his card, confirming the purchase of the ticket, before giving the card back to Rico, along with the ticket.
"The train will be arriving at 9:00 a.m.," she told him.
Receiving both his card and ticket, Rico immediately shoved his wallet into the bag and received the said card and ticket, saying thank you gratefully and politely.
He then left the cashier and cross through the platform gates using his train card.
At the platform, Rico settled down on a concrete bench and put on his headphones to listen to music while waiting for the train to arrive. The station was rarely busy at all.
Then, at exactly 9 in the morning, the train, a European-style, high-speed one, had arrived at the station, and it opened its doors. As the other passengers from the train get off, Rico, alongside those on the platform, boarded the train. But, Rico entered the 3rd car of the train. The seats of the car, however, are randomly organized.
Once he had found his seat according to his ticket, he settled at a seat next to the window and put his shoulder bag next to him. He then get Riolu's Poké Ball, calling Riolu out, and it entered the scene with positivity.
At last, at 9:07 a.m., the doors are closed, and the train began to leave the station in steady, rising speed towards Muñoz Town.
