Middle-aged couple wanted their child to have the best start as a Pokémon Trainer.

Even though they had paid a significant amount of money, they were willing to obtain a Royal Starter Pokémon from the Pokémon League if necessary. However, their daughter had no interest in the traditional Starter Pokémon. She declared her ambition to specialize in Dragon-types.

Left with no other option, the couple refunded their investment and began searching for a suitable Dragon-type Pokémon egg. After much searching, their top candidates were Horsea, Swablu, Trapinch, and a Jangmo-o. But finding a viable egg proved challenging.

Finally, after an exhaustive search, they secured a Trapinch egg. Though it wasn't a pure Dragon-type at first, Trapinch evolves into Vibrava and ultimately Flygon, a Ground/Dragon-type Pokémon, making it a perfect fit for their daughter's aspirations.

As for aiming for a pseudo-legendary Dragon Pokémon? That was out of the question. Such ambitions were beyond even their daughter's expectations. She simply wanted a team of true Dragon-types—no Flying-types masquerading as dragons, as seen with certain champions.

Evan found the couple's reasoning baffling. What kind of person rejects a Starter Pokémon? He silently fumed, wishing he could take one of those Pokémon for himself, maybe a Charmander or a Bulbasaur. But he set his thoughts aside. The couple clearly doted on their daughter and would do anything to fulfill her wishes.

After receiving payment, Evan registered the egg under the child's name and gifted them a standard Poké Ball worth 500 PokéDollars to use when Trapinch hatched. He packed the egg into an incubator, courtesy of Colton, and handed it over to the delighted couple. They left quickly, driving off in a luxury car that revealed their wealth. No wonder they could buy the egg without hesitation.

Evan watched them leave, shaking his head. It was likely the last he'd see of them. With a shrug, he returned to his breeding house, where Violet greeted him with a question.

"Evan, are those eight Growlithe eggs?"

"Yes, they're Growlithe eggs," Evan replied. "I'm planning to use them to guard the orchard. Why? Interested?"

Violet shook her head. "Not really. I just didn't expect you to get so many Growlithe eggs."

Evan gave a casual shrug. Violet had no desire for new Pokémon, content with her current team. However, she couldn't help but comment on the earlier couple's decision.

"They probably don't know much about Pokémon," she said. "Otherwise, they wouldn't have chosen Trapinch so hastily. They hear 'Dragon-type' and jump at the chance, without considering how hard it is to raise."

Violet's words held merit. Trapinch was notoriously resource-intensive to raise, requiring significant investment. It might manage as Vibrava, but evolving into Flygon demanded an elite-level Trainer. This wasn't a decision for the uninformed.

Evan smirked. "That's why Trapinch is so cheap. Flygon's amazing if you can raise it properly, but not everyone can afford to."

Violet nodded in agreement, knowing this family was in for a challenging journey.

"Isn't that right?" Evan thought to himself. "Do they really think anyone can afford to raise Dragon-types?"

Still, he didn't comment further. A guest was a guest, and Evan wasn't about to jeopardize his business. After all, he needed to make a living, too. What if the family did manage to raise the Trapinch? He wasn't going to be the one to tell them otherwise.

Violet chuckled but didn't push the conversation further. "This is what happens when people don't do their research," she remarked. "Anyone with a bit of knowledge or sense of their own abilities wouldn't choose a Dragon-type as their first Pokémon."

"Unless, of course," she added with a smirk, "they happen to own a mine or something."

With that, Violet stayed with Evan for a while longer before heading out.

After Violet left, a delivery arrived—Berries that Evan had ordered. He immediately got to work with Isla and the other assistants to process the shipment.

Meanwhile, the sound of battles between wild Pokémon echoed in the distance, growing more intense. Evan didn't bother checking on it. The Pokémon were training, and whether he was present or not, they would still benefit. His job was to ensure they had the resources they needed to grow stronger.

He and his team moved all the fruit into the warehouse, selecting a portion to prepare meals for Violet's Pokémon. It wasn't anything elaborate, just temporary provisions that would last a few days. Evan figured he'd finish the rest of the preparations tomorrow or the day after.

Once the assistants wrapped up their tasks, they joined him in making energy cubes. Over time, they had mastered a few basic recipes and were working on intermediate ones, though it would take about half a month to learn them all.

Out in the wild, the battles were reaching a fever pitch. Pikachu and Charmeleon, now on a ten-match winning streak, stood exhausted but triumphant. Despite their fatigue, both radiated a fiery determination.

The wild Pokémon watching from the sidelines looked at them with admiration. Strength commanded respect in the wild, and Pikachu and Charmeleon had certainly earned it.

"Pika pika!" Pikachu cried, challenging the crowd. Who's next?!

Despite its weariness, Pikachu was fueled by the thrill of battle and the desire to grow stronger. It believed it was on the path to greatness and was ready for more.

The defeated Pokémon nearby, however, were content. Gardevoir had healed them with Heal Pulse, and Gallade had distributed energy cubes, which they ate happily. The defeated Pokémon had come to a simple realization: as long as Pikachu and Charmeleon kept holding these battles, there would be food for everyone. A few fights were a small price to pay for such delicious rewards.

Several wild Pokémon, inspired by the prospect of more food, stepped forward to challenge Pikachu and Charmeleon again. The two charged into battle with renewed vigor, clashing with their opponents.

When the fight ended, Gardevoir used Heal Pulse to restore the defeated Pokémon, while Gallade handed out another round of energy cubes. The wild Pokémon, rejuvenated and satisfied, secretly hoped that battles like these would happen more often. To them, fighting for food was nothing new—this was just a more rewarding way of life.

Finally, Evan stepped forward and called Pikachu and Charmeleon back. Both were pushed to their limits and needed rest, but their victorious efforts had solidified their status as leaders in the wild.
