Pokémon Farming Story

Chapter 9: Chapter 9:Boys’ Rooms Are Always Messy, but Not Dirty

In Corvisquire's memory, it too had once been young and reckless.

Especially after Natsume painted a picture of its future, Corvisquire confidently believed it would be invincible in the world.

Then it got beaten by Persian.

Persian used its claws to remind Rookidee who the real dominant Pokémon in the household was.

Well, the top dog was Natsume.

Realizing this painful truth, Rookidee felt that it hadn't matured enough yet.

After a period of reflection, Rookidee once again issued a challenge.

And then it got beaten again.

After being defeated several times, Rookidee finally understood.

At this moment, it was clear that Rookidee had no hopes of defeating Persian and thus began to reflect again.

Now, having evolved into Corvisquire, it felt ready!

After a few more days of reflection back home, it would challenge the position of second-in-command!

Flying beside Natsume, Corvisquire intended to keep a low profile.

Yet, its gaze couldn't help drifting toward Persian.

Those little ambitions were impossible to hide.

"Mimi."

Is this the new home?

Looking at the two-story building before her, Minccino seemed to have little stars twinkling in her eyes.

In such a big house, there must be a lot of places to clean!

Just thinking about it filled Minccino with energy.

Beside her, Buneary curiously stared at the large house.

Is this where I will live with Natsume in the future?

It looked quite nice!

Just thinking about it made her feel happy.

"Meow."

Meanwhile, Persian stretched lazily.

Its entire body arched, and the expression on its face tightened.

After a big yawn, it walked with elegant cat steps, leisurely heading toward the stairs.

It was tired and ready to go take a cat nap.

After all, cats are nocturnal creatures.

Butterfree and Corvisquire also returned to their respective resting places.

Butterfree had its own room on the second floor, while Corvisquire had a small nest on the rooftop.

However, once it evolved into Corviknight, it would likely need to move outside to live.

After all, with over two meters in height, a Corviknight living in the house wouldn't be very suitable.

Moreover, Natsume's Corvisquire was noticeably larger than others of its kind, and its evolution into Corviknight would certainly lead to a significantly larger size.

If all goes well, Natsume would probably build an even bigger house in the future.

Of course, there was no need to mention this plan, which was still in the conceptual stage, to Buneary and the others for now.

"Mimi!"

Following closely behind Natsume, Minccino entered the house, looking around curiously.

After receiving permission from Natsume, it began to scurry around the messy room.

As Natsume was tidying up, he occasionally saw Minccino popping out from some corner.

However, its expression transitioned from initial ease and joy to seriousness little by little.

It would occasionally turn back and give Natsume a stern look, as if asking: Did you even clean this place?

That questioning gaze made Natsume feel a bit guilty.

Well, he supposed he had done a serious cleaning, right?

Though there were some signs of slacking.

But overall, it should be acceptable… right?

It is well-known that a man's room typically maintains a state of being messy but not dirty.

But for Minccino...

What kind of hell is this?!

After inspecting the room, Minccino frowned deeply, wearing an expression that seemed almost unbearable to witness.

It ultimately came to a conclusion.

This house had been cleaned, but not thoroughly.

It felt as if some areas were intentionally left uncleaned to prove how dirty the house had been before.

Boys, often rough and oblivious, might not notice, but for a girl like Minccino, everything was very clear.

"Mimi!"

Rolling up her sleeves, Minccino looked determined.

In the background, one could vaguely see ethereal flames flickering.

Ah, not just behind her; it seemed even her eyes held a fire.

"Why not just clean tomorrow?"

"It's getting late."

In response to Natsume's suggestion, Minccino shook her head, signaling that he could focus on his own tasks while leaving the cleaning to her.

Let me show you my strength!

Watching Minccino waving her tiny paws and chirping "mimimi," a smile involuntarily spread across Natsume's face.

"Then I'll leave it to you."

"Mi~"

"I've got this covered!"

Waving goodbye to Natsume, Minccino confidently walked toward the living room.

She moved like a valiant general marching onto the battlefield.

In the bathroom, a mist obscured Natsume's figure.

Warm water flowed down along his muscle lines.

"I need to repair the fences along the edge of the farm."

"The warehouse also needs work; it's falling apart."

"The machine for making Pokéblocks arrived this morning, so let's start production tomorrow."

"This will help replenish our stock."

Calculating what he needed to do next, Natsume realized that his upcoming life would be quite fulfilling.

After all, it was a farm just starting out.

"Buneary."

After leaving the bathroom, Buneary, holding a hairdryer as if presenting a treasure, raised it high.

It seemed she had been waiting for a while.

"Thank you, Buneary."

"Buneary."

It's no problem at all; do you want me to help you dry your hair?

Climbing onto a nearby platform with a mixture of excitement and anticipation in her eyes, Buneary looked at Natsume.

"No, that's alright."

Seeing Buneary's eager expression made Natsume hesitate to refuse her.

After all, boys can dry hair quite quickly.

He also felt that if he agreed to this, he might end up becoming completely useless in the future.

Natsume did not want to be known as a half-witted creature in online discussions at a young age.

In this world, being nurtured into a useless individual by one's own Pokémon was quite common.

"Buneary."

At Natsume's rejection, Buneary's ears drooped slightly, and while it looked a bit disappointed, it didn't seem overly sad.

This did ease Natsume's mind.

He could be unyielding towards outsiders, but when his own Pokémon made a request, he felt he couldn't maintain a serious face.

He didn't excel at playing the role of a strict father, at least not in his mind.

After drying his hair, Natsume prepared to return to his room to sleep, but he noticed that Buneary had followed him closely.

"Aren't you going back to your room to sleep?"

"Buneary."

In response to Natsume's question, Buneary shook its head and climbed onto a nearby lazy sofa.

It patted the mat beneath it, indicating that it wanted to sleep there.

"Alright, then goodnight, Buneary."

"Buneary."

Goodnight, Natsume.

With a click, the lights in the room went out.

Just like the sun sinking below the horizon outside, the world fell into a tranquil silence.

Except for...

"Rustle."

From a nearby bush, it seemed that some Pokémon was stirring.
