Pokémon Farming Story

Chapter 10: Chapter 10:Stealth Armor and the Posture of a Disciplined Athlete

Stealth Armor and the Posture of a Disciplined Athlete

When the sun's rays completely disappeared below the horizon, the noisy world fell into brief silence.

But it quickly became lively again.

It was as if the nighttime workers had taken over, preparing to enjoy the pleasures of the night under the dark sky.

People often think that night should be quiet.

But in reality, the night is always filled with stories.

The world of Pokémon is no exception.

Many Pokémon that sleep soundly in their nests during the day began to stretch their stiff limbs and venture out from their warm shelters in search of food.

Even bears, which hibernate, will make seeking prey their first priority after waking up.

They need to eat, after all.

Of course, besides those Pokémon that naturally prefer roaming at night, some choose to move at night to avoid human activities.

"Rustle."

"Umm?"

The bushes gently shook a few times.

A dark green little head cautiously popped out.

Those starry eyes were filled with tension and unease.

Although it knew that poking its head out wasn't a good idea and was somewhat dangerous, its gaze was irresistibly drawn to a pile of clutter.

That was something Natsume had cleared out in the morning—some useless items.

Including, but not limited to, broken furniture and various children's toys.

There were glass marbles, playing cards, toy soldiers, and more.

If Natsume as a child had seen these items, he would have been very happy.

But now, Natsume felt no emotion upon seeing these childhood treasures.

There was no nostalgia for the joys of childhood or shame from his embarrassing past.

It seemed that those once vibrant and joyful memories had quietly faded over time.

Just like childhood and youth that had vanished without notice.

Perhaps this is what growing up is about.

"Umm."

The Pokémon in the bushes tilted its head, curiously gazing at the glass beads shimmering under the moonlight among the clutter.

Although they were very cheap items, in the moonlight, they took on a gemstone-like sheen.

They appeared to have the allure of treasures worth their weight in gold.

This, of course, caught the attention of a Pokémon that had "never seen the world."

The Pokémon in the bushes glanced over at the house beside the clutter.

The two-story building was shrouded in darkness, completely silent.

Logically, Persian, being a nocturnal Pokémon, should have been active at night, but living with Natsume for an extended period had somewhat altered Persian's routine.

After taking a careful "look," the Pokémon confirmed that the people and Pokémon in the house were asleep.

It was the perfect moment to act!

"Umm."

Pulling out the stealth armor it had carefully made during the day, the small figure hummed a cheerful little tune.

Although the melody was casually hummed, it had a certain charm to it.

It was like those whimsical and beautiful imaginations that always stem from pure children.

After donning the battle attire, the small figure's gaze became sharper.

The nighttime treasure operation begins!

Imitating a pose it had seen somewhere before, the small figure executed a leap before crouching down.

With its body wrapped in the stealth armor, it cautiously peered toward the house through the gaps.

Hmm, very good; no one is paying attention.

Nodding with satisfaction, the small figure was pleased with its stealthy maneuver.

I have some talent after all.

"Umm..."

Even as it covered its mouth, the small figure reminded itself not to get complacent and to keep striving.

Adjusting its mindset, it continued to crawl forward on the ground while wearing the armor.

Squirming, sneaking, rolling.

Then it paused to observe through the gaps in the armor.

Continuously repeating this process, it advanced toward the pile of clutter.

It's worth mentioning that the stealth armor was a very worn-out, dark green windbreaker.

It had been carefully decorated with items intended for camouflage.

Such as weeds and rag-like materials.

Although it looked a bit rough, some details indicated that the creator took this "battle attire" seriously.

Throughout the journey, the small figure maintained its low profile, making no sound whatsoever.

However, it hadn't noticed that a few pairs of eyes were watching it with a strange gaze from the balcony on the second floor.

'Is this the green-headed one you mentioned?'

Perched on the edge of the balcony, Persian glanced at Corvisquire beside it.

Though no words were exchanged, the meaning in its eyes was quite clear.

Corvisquire spread its wings, ready to shout with its usual loud voice.

But then it caught sight of Persian's fierce gaze fixed intently on it.

The sharp glint visible between its claws was intimidating.

The "ka ka" sound that was already on the tip of its tongue was forcibly swallowed back.

'Right, it was this guy peeking yesterday!'

'This guy must be a perverted peeping Tom!'

'Let's teach him a lesson!'

Corvisquire attempted to convey its thoughts through body language and expressive gestures.

But it seemed...

It couldn't quite articulate it well.

Instead, it was a rather tragic sight.

'Perhaps you should consider trying out for a mime or comedy performance.'

Butterfree gently tapped Corvisquire's wing, affirming its talent.

This kid (deep breath) might actually save the entertainment industry! (clenching fist tightly)

In contrast to the unconcerned trio, Buneary looked somewhat worried.

Gently nudging Persian, Buneary leaned in and whispered softly.

Should I go get Natsume?

Tilting its head, Persian glanced at the dark, wriggling figure on the ground.

After a moment of thought, it nodded toward Buneary.

Yes, it was necessary to inform Natsume about this.

Receiving the signal, Buneary jumped down from the railing and quickly made its way back to the room.

"Buneary."

Buneary leaped softly onto Natsume's bed, landing almost without a sound.

Gently pushing at Natsume's face, Buneary softly called out to him.

"Mm? What is it, Buneary?"

Waking up, Natsume rubbed his sleepy eyes and looked at Buneary with some confusion.

Although he wasn't fully awake, his hand instinctively reached up to gently pat Buneary on the head.

Anyone who has owned a pet would be very familiar with this gesture.

"Buneary."

"Natsume, a strange Pokémon has come outside."

Buneary meticulously explained the situation to Natsume from the bedside.

This included the incident last night where a Corvisquire was sneakily using Natsume's phone on the rooftop to "reflect on itself," striking poses dramatically in the moonlight at the edge of the terrace, only to accidentally notice an unknown creature sneaking toward the house.

"I see."

Naturally ignoring Corvisquire's antics, Natsume quickly got up, put on his jacket, and headed towards the rooftop.

"Let's go take a look, but remember to be quiet."

"Buneary."

Buneary covered its mouth with its ears, indicating that it would definitely not make a sound.
