Chapter 81: Elite Four Part 6
It was night, as Haru was in his room, with his harem as they were looking at Haru computer as he was seeing Karen Pokémon.
Clair looked at Haru as he spoke. "You don't do most research on Will, Koga or even Bruno so why her".
Haru looked at her and spoke. "Because she is a Nation level Trainer she is almost on the same level as Lance, and I am pretty sure if she wanted she could take Lance place".
Whitney then spoke looking at Haru. "And your an Elite Four level trainer, what different will it make, heck both me and Clair are also Elite four level".
Haru just looked at the computer and on Karen teams, as he saw her 6 Pokémon, Weavile, Spiritomb, Honchkrow, Umbreon, Houndoom and Absol. "I am pretty sure her Houndoom and Absol could Mega Evolve, then the is her Spiritomb, now I wish I had a fairy type".
Clair smirked at Haru's remark and crossed her arms. "So, you're worried about her Spiritomb? You've got plenty of strategies to handle tough opponents without needing to rely on type advantages, don't you?"
Whitney chimed in, teasingly nudging him. "Besides, don't forget, you're the so-called 'Prodigy of Johto.' If anyone can figure out a way to deal with her, it's you."
Haru leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. "It's not just her Spiritomb—it's her whole team. Each one of her Pokémon is built to exploit weaknesses and cover for each other. That makes her unpredictable. If I make one mistake, she'll capitalize on it."
Rose, who had been quietly watching, finally spoke up. "That's why you're doing this research, isn't it? To minimize those mistakes. But you also know battles aren't just about preparation—it's about adaptability in the moment."
Haru nodded, sighing. "You're right. Preparation only gets me so far. But Karen… she's the type of trainer who thrives on mind games. Her entire philosophy is about using her favorites, regardless of conventional strength, and making them shine."
Clair raised an eyebrow. "So what's the plan, then? Are you going to rely on Mega Evolution, or do you have another strategy in mind?"
Haru smirked, glancing at her. "A bit of both. My team isn't just strong—they're versatile. I'll have to keep her guessing and use that to my advantage. But first…" He turned back to the computer, pulling up additional data on Fairy-type Pokémon. "...I might need to see if there's a way to temporarily add a Fairy-type to my lineup."
Whitney laughed. "You're seriously thinking of catching a new Pokémon just for her? That's so like you, Haru. Always overthinking everything."
Rose tilted her head thoughtfully. "Not necessarily. A Fairy-type would definitely give you an edge against Spiritomb, but you don't have much time to train a new Pokémon before the battle. Maybe there's another way."
Haru closed the computer and stretched. "You're right. I'll stick with what I've got and trust my team. They've never let me down before, and I'm not about to let them down now."
Clair smirked. "Now that sounds more like the Haru I know. Confident, a little cocky, but determined."
Whitney grinned. "You've got this, Haru. Karen may be tough, but you've already proven you can handle the best."
Haru looked at his harem, their unwavering support giving him a renewed sense of confidence. "Thanks, everyone. I'll give it everything I've got. Karen won't know what hit her."
Haru then picked 6 of his Pokeball. "But I got a team for this".
He then sent out his 6 Pokémon he chose for tomorrow Battle, as they was Swampert, Electivire, Meowth (Perfigther), Houndoom, Garchomp and Hisuian Zoroark.
Clair looked over Haru's chosen team with a critical eye. "Interesting picks, Haru. You've got a mix of raw power and versatility. But bringing Houndoom against Karen? Are you planning to fight fire with fire?"
Haru nodded with a confident smirk. "Exactly. My Houndoom isn't just any ordinary Pokémon—it's ready for anything. Her Houndoom might be a threat, but mine can more than match it."
Whitney crossed her arms and grinned. "And Meowth? I know you've been working hard on training it, but it's not exactly what most people would expect to see in a battle against someone like Karen."
Haru chuckled. "That's the point. Meowth isn't just here for show—its Technician ability and diverse move pool make it an unpredictable wild card. And besides, it's one of my most loyal Pokémon. It earned its spot on this team."
Rose tilted her head, studying the lineup. "Swampert and Electivire make sense—one for brute strength and coverage, the other for speed and electricity. But Garchomp and Hisuian Zoroark together? That's a deadly combination. Are you planning to confuse Karen with Zoroark's Illusion ability?"
Haru grinned. "Exactly. If I can make her second-guess her moves, I'll have the upper hand. Plus, Zoroark's Nasty Plot can turn it into a devastating sweeper if I play my cards right."
Clair smirked. "Sounds like you've thought this through. But remember, Karen's known for her mind games. She won't fall for simple tricks."
Haru nodded. "I know. That's why I've built this team to adapt. No matter what she throws at me, I'll have a counter ready."
Whitney punched his shoulder playfully. "That's the spirit! You've got this, Haru. We'll all be cheering for you."
Haru looked at his team, then back at his harem, feeling their unwavering support. "Thanks, everyone. With this team and your encouragement, I'll give Karen a battle she won't forget."
They then head a nock on the door, as Haru opend as he took a package from the delivery boys, as on the packages was the Harmonia Company Simble.
Rose spoke looking at him. "Let me gess Held items".
Haru them smirked at her. "Yup, Beast one for each them".
They then saw Haru giving each of his Poemon that he is going to use a Held items, Swanpert already had its Mega stone, he gave Electivire a life orb, Houndoom a Houndoominite, he have Meowth a Leftover, which t contrary believe just looked like a Eaten apple.
Clair just looked at Haru as she spoke. "Thank about Benefits from being part of the Family that literally invented Held items".
Haru just chuckled as he spoke. "Yeah, that works fast, even do the Houndoominite room 2 months to find".
Meowth looked at his Leftover. "Really boss, I mean I get I am figting type".
Haru looked at Meowth with a smirk. "Trust me, Meowth. That Leftover isn't just for healing—it's part of my strategy. You'll see why tomorrow."
Meowth tilted his head, holding the half-eaten apple. "Alright, boss, I trust ya. But it better be worth it."
Clair crossed her arms, watching the team get equipped. "So, what about Garchomp and Zoroark? What are you giving them?"
Haru picked up two more items from the box. "For Garchomp, a Yache Berry—it'll help reduce the damage from any Ice-type moves Karen throws at it. And for Zoroark, an Expert Belt to boost its super-effective moves. With its Illusion ability, I want Zoroark to hit hard and fast."
Rose smirked. "You've really thought this through, haven't you? You're covering all your bases."
Haru nodded. "Against Karen, I have to. Her team is versatile, and her battle style is unpredictable. But with the right strategy and these items, I'll turn the tide in my favor."
Whitney leaned against the wall, grinning. "Looks like you've got everything you need. Now, just don't let her charm throw you off your game."
Haru chuckled. "Don't worry, Whitney. I'm not that easy to distract. Karen's strong, but I'm stronger."
The group shared a moment of quiet determination, each of them confident in Haru's abilities. As they prepared to call it a night, Haru placed the box aside and looked at his team. "Alright, everyone, get some rest. Tomorrow's battle is going to be tough, but I know we can win."
The Pokémon let out their cries of agreement, and Haru turned back to his harem with a smile. "Thanks for being here, all of you. I won't let you down."
Clair smirked. "You'd better not. Now, go to bed—we'll need you at 100% tomorrow."
Haru them looked at Clair, as he called back Garchomp into her PokeBall. "One more thing Clair, I need you teach Garchomp a particular Powerful move, you have Garchomp of you own".
Clari smirked already knowing the move. "It is going to cost you".
The next day happened, as one again the crowded of people was gathee, in the stand all of Haru friend's were cheering him on, bit out of everyone Clair had a Particular smirk on hee face
Whitney just looked at Clair a bit annoyed. "You just had to take the advantage".
Clair smorke at Whitney as she spoke. "What I just helped our beloveds Haru get to victory a bit more easy".
Rose just sighed as she spoke. "Not now ok".
As then in the stadium saw the match the match was happening in the sand Field, as Karen sent out her first Pokèmon her Spiritomb.
Haru just looked at her as he spoke. "Already starting, will I have counter for that".
He them sent out Garchomp, as the Shiny Garchomp came out of her PokeBall her black scales sparkled in the sun light, with her red body even more
Karen was the first to attack. "Spiritomb use Dark pulse".
Haru then told Garchomp to move out of the way, as Garchomp, as the land shark pokemon dived into the sands, a it starts to use sword dance, Karen seeing this told Spiritomb to use a trick room, as the Ghost type Pokemon did, Garchomp speed got a bit slow too bad this one was build for speed it was a bit of annoyance, as Haru told it to use another sword dance.
Karen looked at the ground as she looked at Spiritomb. "Use Dark pulse on the ground everywhere".
Spiritomb used it and in all four corners the dark Pluse hit, as then it hit Garchomp sending up, as it used anothee sword dance, sense it was damage it was revealed it was not Hair Zoroak, as Garchomp landed and used a powerful earthquake, which took Spiritomb back, as then Garchomp in the sand.
Haru then screamed. "Now do it".
Spiritomb looked left and right as then Garchomp gave up from the ground used a substitute to dudge a will-O-Wisp as then bits into Spiritomb, it was not using the move bite, as then the the core fo the Garchomp body glows as then sent out a point blank orb sending Spiritomb flying the sky as then the orb blasted into Spiritomb, as she just used Draco Meteor.
This was the move Haru told Clair to teach Garchomp, what was she price, making Clair his first finance which Whitney was nor happy by.
Karen looked at him as she spoke. "You replace Dragon claw with Draco Meteor, but why does to unfinished".
Haru smirked as he looked at Karen. "You noticed, huh? It's unfinished because Garchomp and I are still perfecting the execution. But even an incomplete Draco Meteor has more raw power than most moves, and with Garchomp's strength, it's enough to turn the tide."
Karen crossed her arms, analyzing the situation. "Risky move, though. Replacing Dragon Claw limits your close-range options. You're banking a lot on Garchomp's speed and timing."
Haru chuckled. "That's the point. Garchomp isn't just fast—it's smart. We're not just fighting; we're adapting. Now, are you ready for the next round, or should I take the win now?"
Karen smiled slyly, recalling her fainted Spiritomb and grabbing her next Pokéball. "Don't get cocky, Haru. I've got plenty of tricks left. Let's see how you handle this!"
She sent out her Weavile, the Ice/Dark-type Pokémon landing gracefully on the battlefield. The crowd roared with excitement, knowing the type advantage was heavily in Karen's favor.
Whitney clenched her fists in the stands. "Garchomp's weak to Ice! What's he thinking leaving it in?"
Clair smirked confidently. "Don't worry. Haru's got this. He wouldn't send Garchomp out without a plan."
Back on the battlefield, Karen made the first move. "Weavile, use Ice Shard!"
The priority move streaked toward Garchomp at blinding speed. Haru smirked. "Garchomp, use Substitute!"
In an instant, a decoy appeared, taking the hit. The real Garchomp emerged from the sand behind Weavile, its body glowing with power from the earlier Sword Dances.
"Now, Garchomp, Earthquake!"
The ground shook violently as Garchomp unleashed its attack. Weavile tried to jump away, but the move's area of effect was too wide. Weavile was sent flying and landed hard, struggling to get back up.
Karen gritted her teeth. "Weavile, use Ice Beam!"
Haru's smirk widened. "Garchomp, finish it with Earthquake!"
Garchomp charged forward, she slammed her feet and the ground was moved and rocks went up. It hit Weavile, the super-effective move overpowering the weakened Pokémon. Weavile fainted, and the referee declared Garchomp the winner.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Karen recalled her Weavile. She looked at Haru with a new level of respect. "You're full of surprises, Haru. But this battle is far from over."
Haru nodded, recalling Garchomp for now. "Good. I wouldn't want it any other way."
The intensity of the match was just beginning, and the audience could feel the tension rising as Karen prepared to send out her next Pokémon. Haru's team and strategy would be tested to their limits, but he was ready for whatever came next.
