Pokémon: Day Bringer

Chapter 7: Pokémon Bonding

It was late at night when Haru sat by the campfire, carefully preparing food for Mudkip and Elekid. Mudkip devoured his food with an energetic enthusiasm, while Elekid, on the other hand, stared at the bowl of food with skepticism, her tiny sparks crackling in the air as she backed away.

Haru sighed, his patience thinning. "You have to eat something," he muttered, rubbing his forehead. "What about some berries? I've got a few... or is it that you still don't trust me fully?"

Elekid looked up at him, her wide eyes narrowing slightly. The distrust was evident. She'd been hesitant ever since Haru had caught her, and despite his efforts, she still wasn't sure if she could trust him.

Haru gently placed a berry in front of her, trying to coax her. "Look, I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to make sure you're well taken care of." He gave her a soft smile. "You've had a long day."

Elekid took a cautious step forward but paused before sniffing the berry. After a few moments, she grabbed it with her small hands and took a tentative bite. She chewed it slowly, her gaze flickering between Haru and the food. Haru watched her carefully, hoping this was a step forward.

Mudkip, noticing the calm moment, waddled over to Elekid, his playful energy sparking a bit of curiosity in her. The two Pokémon shared a brief look before Mudkip chirped happily, nudging Elekid with his small fins.

Haru chuckled, relieved to see a bit of progress. "Looks like Mudkip's trying to make you feel more comfortable. He's always been good at that."

Elekid seemed to soften a little, her defensive posture relaxing as she finished the berry. Haru smiled, feeling a little more at ease. Pokémon, just like people, needed time to adjust, and he knew that trust couldn't be rushed.

He sat down beside the two Pokémon, making sure they were comfortable before continuing. "We're in this together, okay?" he spoke softly, almost to himself. "I'll help you both, no matter how long it takes."

For the rest of the night, the atmosphere became a little more peaceful. Haru, Mudkip, and Elekid rested together under the stars. Haru reflected on how far he'd come, and though there was still a long road ahead, he was determined to build a bond with his Pokémon, one step at a time.

As the fire flickered and the night grew quieter, Haru closed his eyes, feeling a small sense of accomplishment. "Tomorrow," he whispered, "we'll get even stronger."

Elekid, now resting next to him, gave a soft spark of approval, and Haru felt the first true sign of their growing bond.

The next morning, Haru woke up early, greeted by the chirping of wild Pokémon and the soft rustle of leaves in the breeze. The sun was barely rising over the horizon, casting a soft orange glow across the landscape. He yawned and stretched, feeling the ache of yesterday's travels in his muscles but also a sense of excitement.

"Alright, guys," Haru said, sitting up and stretching his arms. He turned to Mudkip and Elekid, both still asleep by his side. "Today's the day we start making some progress. Let's see how far we've come."

Mudkip stirred first, his tail flicking before he opened his eyes. He chirped happily when he saw Haru, his tiny fins flapping in excitement. Elekid, on the other hand, was a bit slower to wake up, but the moment Mudkip made a sound, she jolted upright, her small body crackling with static.

"Morning, little guys," Haru greeted with a soft chuckle. "How about some training?"

Elekid hesitated for a moment, eyeing Haru as if gauging his intentions. But the smell of the food he'd prepared earlier seemed to convince her, and she finally got up, walking over to her food bowl to finish what Mudkip had left behind.

Haru smiled at the small victory. He still had a long way to go with Elekid, but she was slowly starting to trust him. He took a deep breath, ready for the day ahead.

"Let's head toward Violet City," Haru said, packing up his camp and calling for his Pokémon to follow him. "I hear there's a trainer battle waiting for us there."

As they made their way down the path toward the city, Haru's thoughts drifted to what he needed to do. It had been a while since he'd been on a proper journey, and now, with his new team, he was ready to prove himself once again. His first real challenge would be the Violet City Gym, but first, he had to warm up and make sure his Pokémon were ready for what lay ahead.

After a while, Haru spotted a few wild Pokémon in the tall grass, and he decided it was time to test Mudkip and Elekid's skills in battle.

"Alright, Mudkip, Elekid," he called out. "Let's see what you've got. Mudkip, use Tackle! Elekid, try using Low Kick!"

Mudkip charged forward with surprising speed for his small frame, leaping at the wild Pidgey. The Pidgey flapped its wings frantically, trying to dodge, but Mudkip made contact, knocking the small bird back. Elekid, on the other hand, was still a little hesitant with her moves but managed to land a decent Low Kick on the wild Machop that had appeared from the grass.

Elekid's kick wasn't powerful, but it had knocked Machop off balance, leaving it open for another attack. Haru gave her a quick nod of approval.

"Good job, Elekid! Now let's finish this. Mudkip, Water Gun!" he commanded.

Mudkip immediately squatted down, taking a deep breath before shooting a strong stream of water at the wild Pidgey. The Pidgey, not expecting the attack, was knocked back into the grass, unable to continue fighting. Machop, seeing the fate of its partner, decided to retreat as well, running back into the tall grass.

"Nice work, guys!" Haru cheered, kneeling down to praise his Pokémon. "That was a good battle. You're both improving!"

Mudkip bounced happily, his tail swishing back and forth in excitement. Elekid, though still reserved, gave a small spark of electricity as if pleased with her performance. Haru could see the gradual development of their bond, and it made him feel hopeful for the future.

As they continued on their journey, Haru couldn't help but feel that things were starting to fall into place. The bond with his Pokémon wasn't fully there yet, but with every battle, every bit of progress, it was becoming stronger. There were still a lot of challenges ahead, but for now, Haru was content with what he had.

A few hours later, they reached Violet City. The bustling city seemed a little different than he remembered, but it still held that same familiar charm. The gym, located just outside the city center, loomed ahead, and Haru's excitement grew.

"Alright," Haru said to his Pokémon, standing at the entrance of the gym. "This is it. Our first real challenge. Let's do our best!"

Mudkip nodded enthusiastically, while Elekid gave a small, uncertain spark. Haru looked down at her and smiled. "Don't worry, Elekid. We're in this together."

With that, Haru pushed open the doors to the Violet City Gym, ready to face whatever challenges awaited him inside.

Haru looked at his two Pokémon. "Let's go and trained more before we go to the... Gym".

He took both of his Pokémon to the tall grass to fight, if you asked Haru he was still not fully used to the Gyms or even Gym badges, he was not use to this and he will never be as former prince and someone who fought in a war, Gym trainer's were still something he needs to get use to but yet he still was.

They arrived in a large area, as he started to train and fight the Pokémon again, after, a while a training he heard something in the grass.

As then jumping out of the tall grass a man and woman with Meowth, the girl had long pink hair that if looked right looked like an R, the boy had short blue hair

They then started to speak, as Jessie then spoke first

Jessie mad ea dramatic pose as she spoke. "Prepare for trouble".

James then spoke in the same manner. "And make it double".

Jessie then spoke. "To protect the people from devastation".

James then spoke raising this amrs. "To unite all people in our nation".

Jassie then spoke in her own way. "To denounce the evil of Truth and Justic".

James then spoke once again. "To reach out goal to stars".

Jessie then sought her name. "Jessie"

James then sought his name. "James".

Jessie then spoke again. "Team Rocket Blasting up in the speed of light".

James then spoke. "Surrender now or proper to fight".

Meowth then spoke. "Meowth is right".

As then a net ball hits Meowth, as then a water gun and thunder shock hit them, as Jessie and James went flying

Jessie and James as they flyed away they spoke. "Team Rocket Blasting Of again, with where is Meowth".

Back in the ground, Haru just looked very confused. "Wasn't Team Rocket delt with by red, this was very weird"

Haru stood there for a moment, processing what had just happened. His two Pokémon, Mudkip and Elekid, were staring at him, clearly just as bewildered by the whole spectacle.

"Well," Haru muttered to himself, shaking his head. "That was... something." He wasn't used to this kind of interruption, and certainly not from people he thought had already been dealt with.

He turned his attention to Mudkip and Elekid, both of whom were a little agitated but seemed unharmed. "Alright, let's get back to training," Haru said, trying to put the bizarre encounter out of his mind.

Just as he was about to continue, he felt a strange sensation in the air—something he couldn't quite place. It was almost like an electric current was running through the ground. Mudkip seemed to sense it too, his fins twitching as he looked around.

Elekid, on the other hand, was visibly more alert, sparking with electricity as if ready to attack. Haru placed a calming hand on her, trying to quell the energy building inside her.

"Hey, easy there," Haru said softly. "We're not looking for trouble right now. Just focus on the training."

But before he could refocus, a voice from the distance interrupted him.

"Hey! You there!" a loud shout came from behind, followed by the rustling of the grass.

Haru turned just in time to see a figure coming toward him. It was a boy about his age, wearing a green jacket and a determined look on his face. He had a Pidgey perched on his shoulder and a confident air about him.

"Are you a Pokémon Trainer?" the boy asked, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.

Haru raised an eyebrow. "Yeah... but I'm still getting the hang of it."

The boy grinned. "Perfect! I was hoping for a battle. I've been looking for a good challenge."

Haru sighed inwardly but nodded. He wasn't one to back down from a challenge, especially when he was still trying to get comfortable with his Pokémon journey. "Alright, you're on."

The boy sent out his Pokémon, a Growlithe, who stood proudly before them.

Haru glanced down at his two Pokémon, who were ready but slightly unsettled from the earlier chaos with Team Rocket. "Mudkip, Elekid, you're up."

"Let's do this!" the boy shouted, gesturing to Growlithe. "Growlithe, use Ember!"

Growlithe let out a sharp bark and unleashed a small, fiery blast at Haru's Pokémon. Mudkip quickly ducked to the side, but Elekid took the hit head-on, flaring up with sparks of electricity in retaliation.

"Quick, Elekid! Use Thunder Shock!" Haru commanded.

Elekid reacted instantly, sending a bolt of electricity at Growlithe, who yelped and dodged the attack, rolling out of the way with surprising agility.

"Impressive," the boy said with a grin. "But don't think I'll go easy on you! Growlithe, tackle!"

The Growlithe darted forward, charging at Mudkip with surprising speed.

"Mudkip, dodge!" Haru shouted, but it was too late. Growlithe collided with Mudkip, knocking him backward. The impact left Mudkip dazed for a moment, struggling to get back on his feet.

Haru grimaced. "Mudkip, focus. Water Gun, now!"

Mudkip shook his head to clear the daze, then shot a blast of water straight at Growlithe, knocking the fire-type off balance.

"Nice work, Mudkip!" Haru called out. "Elekid, follow up with Thunder Shock!"

Elekid sent another jolt of electricity at Growlithe, this time hitting its target squarely. The Growlithe staggered but remained standing, growling low in its throat.

The boy called out to his Pokémon. "Hang in there, Growlithe! Let's finish this with Ember!"

Growlithe took a deep breath and unleashed another wave of fire toward Haru's team. But this time, Mudkip had recovered and was ready.

"Water Gun, Mudkip! Deflect it!" Haru commanded.

The blast of water collided with the fire, dousing the flames and leaving the two Pokémon locked in a tense standoff.

The boy grinned. "You've got some skills. But it's not over yet!"

Haru narrowed his eyes. "We'll see about that. Elekid, Mudkip, together—finish this!"

Mudkip shot another stream of water at Growlithe, while Elekid followed with another Thunder Shock. This time, the combined effort was enough to bring Growlithe down, sending the puppy-like Pokémon tumbling to the ground.

The boy recalled Growlithe with a proud smile. "Good job, Growlithe. You fought well." He then turned back to Haru. "Looks like you're better than I thought. Nice battle."

Haru nodded, looking at his Pokémon. "Good work, guys. You've earned your rest."

The boy stepped forward, holding out his hand. "I'm Jade, by the way. What's your name?"

Haru took his hand with a firm shake. "Haru."

Jade grinned. "Nice to meet you, Haru. I'll be looking forward to our next battle."

As Jade turned and walked away, Haru stood there for a moment, his mind whirling. Team Rocket, Ethan's challenge, the whole experience—it was all so much to take in.

But in that moment, Haru realized that this was his journey now, his path to forge. And no matter how strange or unexpected it got, he was going to face it head-on.

"Alright, Mudkip. Elekid. Let's head to the gym tomorrow," Haru said, his voice resolute.

The two Pokémon barked and chirped in agreement, ready for whatever came next.
