"Yes!!" The young girl seemed to sense victory was within her grasp. Without any concern for Ash's conditions, she agreed without hesitation.
Feeling Ash's determination, both Pikachu and his Devileon were brimming with fighting spirit. The Devileon charged into the arena eagerly, but Ash stepped forward and stopped it.
"Let's let Pikachu handle this one!" Ash said firmly. His decision wasn't due to a lack of trust but rather concern for the Devileon, which had already expended significant energy in the previous battle.
Although Pikachu didn't have the type advantage, it still had the stamina needed for the fight. Hearing Ash's call, Pikachu dashed onto the field without hesitation. The Devileon, though visibly annoyed, complied with Ash's decision. Before stepping aside, it let out a call to Pikachu, almost as if to warn, *Don't lose, or you'll have to answer to me.*
Pikachu replied confidently, then crouched low in a battle-ready stance, eyes focused on the opponent.
This match felt like a gamble with everything at stake. While Ash wouldn't lose his life if they failed, the consequences could be dire—just like the lifeless state of the Kadabra standing opposite. Both Brock and Misty exchanged worried looks, questioning whether they could truly handle this if Pikachu couldn't manage.
"Alright, let's get started!"
The girl's crimson eyes gleamed ominously, and the same light flickered in Kadabra's gaze. The spoon in its hand trembled under its intense psychic control.
With a resounding **boom**, Kadabra launched a Psybeam attack. The vibrant, multi-colored beam streaked directly toward Pikachu with devastating force, while the young girl's complete control over Kadabra became apparent. Unlike Sabrina's situation, where Kadabra retained some autonomy, this time, Kadabra's consciousness was entirely overridden.
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!"
"Pikaaaa!" Pikachu cried out, its body surrounded by a silver flash as it darted forward at incredible speed, narrowly avoiding the Psybeam. The beam struck the ground behind it, erupting into a powerful explosion. Pikachu raced ahead, using its speed to close the gap between itself and Kadabra.
But Kadabra wasn't done. Raising its free hand, it emitted a blue psychic aura that enveloped Pikachu mid-charge. The silver glow around Pikachu's body faded as it was lifted into the air, unable to move.
Kadabra's Confusion had trapped Pikachu, rendering its agility useless. Suspended in mid-air, Pikachu struggled fiercely but couldn't break free.
"Psychic attacks like these are tough to counter without a Ghost-type," Brock muttered with concern. "Pikachu doesn't have the tools to resist Confusion's control like Devileon does."
Ash remained silent, his gaze fixed intently on the battlefield. Kadabra, still under the girl's control, raised its arm slightly, and Pikachu was flung high into the air, spinning helplessly as the match took a dire turn.
Pikachu hit the ceiling hard before Kadabra slammed it back to the ground with another push of its psychic control. The repeated impacts left cracks in the floor, dust billowing into the air. Little girl smirked confidently as Misty and Brock watched with growing concern. Ash, however, remained calm, his eyes locked on Pikachu.
As the smoke cleared, Pikachu came into view, battered but not defeated. It gritted its teeth, propped itself up on trembling legs, and stood once more. One eye was closed, but its determination was unmistakable.
"Pikachu, use Electro Ball!" Ash commanded.
Without hesitation, Pikachu darted forward, gathering speed as it leapt into the air. Sparks of electricity crackled along its tail as it whipped it around, forming a glowing ball of energy. Pikachu flung the Electro Ball with a forceful swing, sending it hurtling toward Kadabra.
"Pika~~Chupi!"
The energy orb sped through the air, but Kadabra's eyes glowed blue again. It raised both hands, its psychic energy wrapping around the Electro Ball. The glowing projectile slowed to a halt, suspended mid-air. Kadabra's palms pushed outward, and the Electro Ball reversed direction, flying back toward Pikachu.
"No way! Her psychic power is too strong!" Brock exclaimed, shaking his head as the others watched in dismay.
"Pikachu, counter with Iron Tail!" Ash called out, his voice calm but commanding.
Pikachu spun mid-air, its tail gleaming with metallic energy. With precise timing, it struck the incoming Electro Ball, distorting its shape before sending it flying back toward Kadabra. The orb crackled and sparked, gaining even more power with each rebound.
Little girl's confidence wavered. She quickly commanded Kadabra to catch the Electro Ball again, but its speed and energy had escalated beyond control. The telekinesis couldn't contain it.
"Kadabra, use Light Screen!" she shouted.
Kadabra raised its hand, forming a translucent barrier in front of itself. The Electro Ball smashed into the shield, exploding on impact. The barrier absorbed some of the force, but the explosion shattered it, sending Kadabra stumbling backward. The psychic Pokémon grimaced as it tried to regain its footing, visibly shaken by the blast.
The Girl frowned, her confidence shaken. "How...?"
Before she could react further, a silver flash emerged from the smoke—Pikachu, launching a Quick Attack! The agile Pokémon struck Kadabra before it could recover, sending it flying across the arena. Pikachu landed on all fours, glaring intently at its opponent, ready for whatever came next.
Girl's eyes widened in disbelief. "What?! Why? How is Pikachu attacking on its own without a command?"
Ash smirked faintly, his arms crossed. "That's because Pikachu and I share more than just words. We trust each other completely. Pikachu doesn't need me to call every move—it knows exactly what to do."
Pikachu let out a determined cry, its tail flicking in anticipation of the next strike. Girl's Kadabra struggled to rise, and the tension in the arena was palpable. The tide of the battle had begun to shift.
