Chapter 4: Daigon Alley (1)
Chapter 4:
Harry Potter's POV
When I arrived at Daigon Alley, I expected it to be filled with people of all class prancing around the market filling it with that the streets with life.
But upon arriving at the Alley, I noticed I was at the wrong store 'where am I' I asked myself. I looked around and the place was filled with strange things I have not seen before. Probably dark artifacts I thought to myself. Then suddenly I heard hushed voices coming from my side.
"Have you heard of his coming?" said the first, his voice clearly filled with fear.
"Indeed, I have" Replied the other. His face looked regal and filled with authority. His hair looked silver similar with a certain annoying bloke back at school. 'Perhaps they are related!?' I thought to myself.
"But that changes nothing… after all everything is already in motion. All we have to do now is wait." The man said darkly
"But Lord Lucious… That man's background cannot be taken lightly" the man said his voice still filled with concern.
Lucious scoffed and pulled his wand. " Do not make me repeat myself!" He said as he raised his wand eye level against the other man.
While they were arguing I thought this was the best time to make my escape. I slowly backed away careful of not hitting anything while moving.
But as I was nearing the exist someone suddenly walked in… It was Draco Malfoy.
"Dad" He called out. Then the one who has his wand raised slowly put down his wand
"What is it Draco?" Lucious, who was actually Draco's dad asked.
"You won't believe what I heard… Harry is here at Daigon alley" Draco replied with annoyance. "And he came with the Weasleys" The usual indifference from Lucious was suddenly filled with interest.
"The Weasleys? Hmmm that's interesting" Lucious said as he placed his hands under his chin as though he was contemplating of something. "Hmmmm… Indeed, that could work." He said as a plan formed in his mind.
I wanted to know what it was but something is telling me that I won't be able to stay alive if I leave now I would be in grave danger so I did my best to hide at the corner. Careful not to accidentally bump anything.
I waited until the Malfoys leave the store but before they left they exchanged a few words to each other. I could not clearly hear what they were talking about as I was now too far away to clearly hear their conversation.
After they left. I waited for a few minutes before actually escaping the store. I briefly glanced at the store's sign which said Borgin and Burkes. Then I continued to walk until I could no longer see the store. After that I sighed in relief upon my escape but what I noticed immediately made me on guard. This was not the Daigon Alley that I know at all.
'Now where to go!?' I asked myself as I looked around people. It has bee a few minutes since I was standing around and people were already taking notice of me. I fact I could already hear whispers that was pointed towards me.
'This is bad, this is really bad'
As I was inwardly scolding myself I saw a pair of wizards that was hiding at the corner were now slowly walking towards me.
"Harry Potter" One of them said
"You have a lot of guts entering this part of the market." Said the other
The two of them were now clearly visible, I noticed that their wands already in their hands preparing to point them towards me.
I was ready to pull my wand as well but then I felt someone big was now standing behind me.
"Merlin's beard, Harry what are you doing here?" I looked back and to my relief, it was Hagrid.
"Nothing, just lost" I replied to Hagrid my voice was filled with relief. In fact it was only now that I noticed that my feet were shaking from fear.
Hagrid then looked at the two wizards "what's the matter lads?" he asked "Anything you want to say to Harry?"
The wizards said nothing. They simply tucked their wands and walked away as though nothing happened.
With that Hagrid released a deep sigh then looked at me angrily "You were lucky I was wander Knockturn Alley to find some Flesh Eatin' Slug Repellent, else not even your bones could be recognized after what they would do to you." I was dumbfounded how Hagrid was able to say that so causally as if such was a daily occurrence at this part of the market.
Then he firmly held my shoulders made me look into his eye. They were filled with genuine concern "Promise me Harry, never enter this place ever again."
"I did not want to enter here in the first place." I defended but ultimately resigned that it was my fault for mispronouncing the chant.
"Come, lets get you back to the Weasleys, I saw them earlier near the Gringotts bank" He immediately changed the topic which I was grateful for. After a few minutes of walking filled with very narrow turns that made me wonder… 'How in Merlin's beard did Hagrid even visit this darn place with his big build??? wizard logic, I guess' I shrugged. I guess another mystery that would never be solved has appeared.
Then at long last I was able to escape that horrid place and reunite with the Weasleys.
"My Boy! There you are!" Arthur Weasley swiftly came to my side, checked my body if I was injured then finally sighed in relief. "My goodness, you sure gave me the fright of my life." said Arthur as he laughed out loud.
'Indeed, that sure was an unforgettable experience' I inwardly mused
"Oh boy! If only you knew." Hagrid suddenly commented at my side.
I looked at him in surprise my eyes were saying 'don't you dare tell them' but it was either Hagrid did not care or he misunderstood the stare that I was giving him because he sure narrated every minute detail of where he found me. And the obvious dangers that I found myself in. Heck, I didn't even notice that there were more wizards that were surrounding me. All I noticed were those two dirty men. But I guess that's why Hagrid kept urging me to walk faster.
Molly give me an earful after hearing from Hagrid where I was. I wanted to blame Hagrid to why I am being scolded. But that Giant I really don't have the heart to blame the man who just saved me from certain demise. I just stood there quietly and attentively listened to Molly's ramblings.
At the side I swear I could hear the other Weasley's laugh at my predicament. The twins in particular were having the time of their lives. While Ron decided that he did not know me for the day and did not even look at my direction. Even Hermione showed a look of disapproval. I swear I even scoff "Boys and their stupid adventures."
My only consolation was that Ginny was looking at me with those concerned eyes. As those she fully understood how dangerous the situation I was in just a few moments ago.
I sighed again. I looked up the heavens and made a promise 'I will never use the Floo network again if I don't have any other choice after this incident.' I inwardly though as I accepted my current predicament.
