In the office, John talked with Norbert and initially determined the follow-up part of Binding of Isaac, the optimization of the source code, and the subsequent outsourcing of art modeling. At the same time, John also revealed that the next project might also let them be responsible for the new game's outsourcing.

At present, the studio has three programmers and one artist. In many places, there is no to rely on three people, it is time-consuming. Not to mention that the most important thing is that the things made may not meet the quality requirements.

In simple terms, in terms of game character and object modeling, unless you choose to directly purchase the modules in the official game engine store, otherwise, relying on Evelien Massey alone, you have to wait a long time to get it done.

In terms of programming, there are three people, Koch, and the convenient official game engine. This is not too difficult. Outsourcing of the program does not need to be found. All you need is art and music outsourcing. And the ability of Forestfruit Sports can still meet the requirements.

John gave Koch and Evelien Massey their contact details here, and the follow-up work content transfer is their business. John needs them to deliver what they want.

After finishing this matter, John returned home, and John smelled instant noodles just after arriving home. John looked at Luna, sitting in the living room, sitting on the chair with two legs crossed, holding chopsticks in one hand and holding the mobile phone in the other, chuckling and smirking while eating instant noodles, and couldn't help feeling a bit speechless.

He wanted to comment but didn't know what to say.

"Isn't there a diner in the area? Why don't you eat in the diner?" John, helplessly, asked.

"It's too late to get off work! There is nothing delicious in the diner at that time," Luna took a mouthful of noodles with a grunt, then said with a little grievance.

"Isn't it possible to eat off work at 5:15? I also deliberately advanced 15 minutes earlier than other companies, so I could go to the diner to eat first," John said helplessly.

"They are so serious at work; I am embarrassed to get off work first, only to wait for them together," Listening to John's words, Luna was even more aggrieved.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell them tomorrow, no need to work overtime. After all, we didn't give them overtime pay," John shook his head helplessly, walked to the next refrigerator, and opened the refrigerator door. He glanced at the ingredients inside.

"Don't eat instant noodles. It's bad for your health if you eat too much. I'll make two omelets for you. It will be done soon," John reached out his hand and threw the instant noodles into the trash can next to it. He took out a small bag of starch and four eggs in the refrigerator.

Ten minutes later

"It's a bit salty," Luna, who was eating the omelet, gave an evaluation.

"Some food is better than none. I will go to the room first. I already have an idea for the design of the new game," John pouted, stood up, and walked quickly towards the room.

"Why do you run so fast?" Luna grunted after eating the egg pie in her hand.

But then she suddenly realized something as she looked at the pot on the stove and the bowl in front of her.

"Oh, when you finish eating, remember to wash the bowl and pot!" At this time, John's voice came from the house.

"Ah! Why should I wash it?" Luna was surprised.

"Don't cook, just eat the dishes and wash the pot; we have already agreed on it!" A smiley voice continued to come from the house.

It seems to be fine, but... I didn't need to wash the dishes when I started eating instant noodles.

Ignoring Luna's very wronged voice outside the living room, John laughed in the room, and after hearing the sound of water from the kitchen outside, carefully opened the bedroom window a little bit, then squatted down and stretched his hand to the bed, fumbling underneath.

Ten seconds later, after touching for a long time without finding what he wanted, John froze. Hey, what about the cigarettes I hid here? He hurried down and glanced inside, and the box of cigarettes originally placed here became a post-it note.

'Dear Comrade John, when you see this letter, your cigarettes were already confiscated by me. In addition, I think you have to explain it to me. Didn't you say you don't smoke? Where does this smoke come from? #^.^#'

John: ヽ(*.>Д<)o゜

After half an hour...

John sat in front of the computer, glancing resentfully at the back of the bed with two feet bare, watching Luna on the bed while she watched a show with a cookie stick in her mouth.

"What do you think? Smoking is bad for your health, and you certainly don't want me to smoke second-hand smoke!" Luna said very seriously, "Moreover, smoking is easy to cause kidney deficiency. Eat snacks if you want to smoke; use snacks instead of cigarettes to quit smoking."

It sounds reasonable, but surely you don't want to eat snacks yourself? John looked at the three kinds of snacks in front of him in a speechless way. There were a lot of snacks beside Luna on the bed. If you can quit, you can quit, after all, it is really bad for your health, but then again, when did you become addicted to smoking?

Shaking his head helplessly, John no longer thought about these things. He refocused on a document called Octopath Travelers which just opened on the computer in front of him and continued the plot design of the game.

'Monster: weak system settings, armor value, weakness attributes, break status'

'Player: BP action points (upper limit) additional general attack opportunities, skill level upgrade lv1'

Just as John announced before, this will be a retro JRPG, a pixel-style JRPG. But also John does not intend to make it according to the pixel game. This is not the same as the Binding of Isaac. Because of insufficient funds, he chose to use the pixel-style game. This is a deliberate retro choice.

It is not compromised because of the cost. To experience the pixel game and copy the past pixel wind, after all, it is just following the footsteps of the old technology and using modern technology to iterate the pixel wind. This is what John and his team need to do.

"3D modeling, plus pixel maps..."

Part of the game's screen performance requirements are constantly added by John into the design document. If it is just like Binding of Isaac, it is not a pure pixel style; it's just putting the canvas to the maximum and then directly drawing the pixel painting. This method is more convenient.

However, in Octopath Travelers, John wants a more refined style of painting. This requires the artist to first create a clear version of the color as a draft, and then nest it into a dedicated pixel painting template, one by one. Point out which color to use, after repeated consideration. This is going to explode in terms of cost. The real pixel style is very laborious and expensive.

Even pixel painting is still a separate artistic style, and the pixel style of most independent games is not a pure pixel. Visually, ordinary players who haven't studied can't distinguish the difference.
