Chapter 6. Fatal Disaster.
The wolves that were guarding the girl immediately pounced over, and just as the wolves were about to tear the little boy apart, the wolf girl stopped them in time.
The wolves obeyed her and slowly retreated a few paces from the boy, ensuring he remained unharmed.
When the girl saw the boy pass out, she pulled him into the cave for protection.
Probably because it was the first time, she had seen a creature so similar to her, the girl really wanted to take care of this boy, not harboring any malice.
The wolf girl had never interacted with humans and had no idea what to do except pull the boy onto her bed.
She fetched the hot water and handed it to the boy. After he finished drinking, the girl set him down again.
When feeding him water, the wolf girl was not skilled at all and had no idea what to expect, so her movements were a little stiff and her expression was apprehensive and uneasy.
“Cough, cough …” The small boy choked on the water and coughed twice. When the wolf girl saw him like this, she could not help but become worried.
The wolf girl quickly placed the boy on her bed and gently patted his chest, hoping he’d settle down as soon as possible and would not feel so uncomfortable.
The wolf girl’s face was filled with anxiety. The worry on her face subsided as she watched the boy gradually calm down.
Until now, the wolf girl had been busy caring for the small boy. She hadn’t even had time to look closely at his face.
Now that the boy had calmed down, she sat next to him and carefully observed him.
The boy was the same as her—very thin and weak, with a fierce expression on his face. His clothes were very thin and did not fit him very well.
The boy’s clothes appeared quite fancy, adorned with some hanging shiny stones. However, several holes in his clothes had been torn when he plummeted from above.
His eyelashes were very long, but his face did not have a child’s tenderness; instead, it exuded a sense of detached and harsh presence.
Strangely, when the wolf girl saw the boy, she felt no fear but rather an unexplainable feeling of connection.
This boy was the fourth prince of the Cang Qian Empire, Cang Ling Ye!
When he was out playing with his friends, they were chased by someone, so he and his friends Mo Fan and Nangong Yu became separated while fleeing, eventually ending up here.
Fortunately, he was saved by the wolf girl. Otherwise, even if he could escape the assassins, he would not be able to escape the wolf pack.
If the girl hadn’t appeared, he probably wouldn’t have been able to escape death this time.
All the time that Cang Ling Ye had been growing up, there had always been people secretly observing him. It was obvious that he had fallen into the enemy’s trap again. When he had left the city, he felt that someone had secretly followed him.
Although Cang Ling Ye had always been on his guard, in the end, there were too many assailants, forcing Mo Fan, Nangong Yu, and him had to flee in defeat after exchanging several blows.
Cang Ling Ye knew that the enemy’s target was him, so he had purposely let Mo Fan and Nangong Yu go in the opposite direction. He had lured the enemy away so that Mo Fan and Nangong Yu would be safe.
Although Cang Ling Ye was a prince, his status did not bring him the slightest bit of respect; on the contrary, it brought him an assassination attempt.
Cang Ling Ye’s ability to grow up in the scheming and deceitful Imperial Palace was already a remarkable achievement.
Even now, Emperor Cang Qian refuses to look at him, pushing him to become used to living and learning alone.
However, as Cang Ling Ye grew older, he had to face more people disliking him and trying to get rid of him. But Cang Ling Ye had consistently defended himself.
It was also because Cang Ling Ye was not valued by the Emperor that these people had acted so unscrupulously against him time and time again. This time, it was even more serious and had nearly led him into a dead end.
His status as the fourth prince has caused him to fall into such a state.
Cang Ling Ye had no choice but to get ready for hardship in this life, as he held the title already.
Since the heavens had given him imperial status, he would do his best. He wanted to become the most respected person in the entire Cang Qian Empire, to be able to ascend the throne and become the Emperor who would unite the world!
He wanted to become Emperor of this world!
However, Cang Ling Ye was now the least valued and even neglected prince. If he wanted to ascend to the heavens in a single step, there was still a huge gap between him and the most beloved prince, Cang Xuan Jin.
But Cang Ling Ye believed that he was on par with Cang Xuan Jin in all other aspects. In fact, he was even better than Cang Xuan Jin, even though Cang Xuan Jin was older than him.
Cang Ling Ye knew that his words carried little weight and he had no advantage, so he could only temporarily conceal his strength and bide his time. He would wait for an opportunity to build up his strength and become famous in one fell swoop. He would make all those who had looked down on him and mistreated him regret it!
Right now, he was seen as a thorn in the flesh by some people; they couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
The most important thing for Cang Ling Ye was to effectively escape this disaster so that he might survive!
In the dim light, the wolf girl lay quietly beside Cang Ling Ye. The pack of wolves peacefully rested outside the cave.
The wolf girl quietly looked at the boy, who resembled her, and felt a little curious. She reached out her hand and used her long fingernails to gently touch Cang Ling Ye’s nose.
Cang Ling Ye probably felt it, and his nose began to twitch as if he were about to wake up.
Seeing it, the wolf girl’s lips curled into a worried smile, prompting her to withdraw her hand quickly.
As she watched Cang Ling Ye sleep soundly on the bed, the wolf girl fell asleep next to him.
The wolf girl was a little excited tonight because it was her first-time meeting someone with a similar physical form.
Moreover, the wolf girl had a special premonition. She felt that there was a strange connection between the two of them. It was as if the two of them were attracted to each other, so she didn’t feel afraid. Instead, she felt a trace of warmth.
