Chapter 6: Friends
Harry goes about his day after that normally. Vernon bought back some books on Animagus and advanced transfigurations, well beyond the abilities of a Hogwarts student. Safe to say that Petunia and Vernon couldn't be more proud of Harry. The day went by in a jiffy while Harry immersed himself into the new books on magic. During dinner time, Harry played with his sister and enjoyed his dinner. After dinner everyone decided to go for a stroll in the Diagon Alley, which gained an excited squeal from Abigail. While they headed to Diagon Alley for the quick stroll and shopping sphree, Harry told his Vernon that he would like to make a withdrawal from his vault. Vernon was not happy about this as it meant that he wouldn't be able to spend money on Harry and stated that Harry is free to get anything he wanted and Vernon would pay for it. But Harry insisted as he had some rather intriguing things to do and he didn't want to waste Vernon's money on that. Petunia and Vernon were sad thinking that Harry would not let them spoil him but agreed half heartedly. Harry surprised them by buying some gifts for all of them, thanking them for their love and support.
This almost made Petunia cry and she hugged Harry while telling him that they only needed him and nothing more. Let's just say that Harry had a hard time getting them to calm down as Petunia peppered his face with kisses, not to mention Abigail who for the love of life wouldn't go anywhere without Harry. Harry was happy, that in this life he had such a great family. While they were getting sundaes in Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour, Harry sneaked of to buy some supplies.
Harry stood in front of the Apothecary, planning to buy the necessary ingredients for his potion experiments and also the ingredients for the Animagus potion. After buying that he went over all the shops buying things he needed or planned on using, which included some quills, cauldrons, a subspace pouch, some rather advanced books on magic which included books on magical creatures and how to deal with them, advanced dueling techniques, wards, advanced charms. He then got some sweets from the Sugarplum's Sweet shop although he was considering going to Honeydukes but he decided that will be next time. He then got some quidditch magazines, even though he wanted to buy a broom he decided against it for now.
After getting these he went back to Petunia as they were headed home. After a rather restless sleep that night, Harry woke up to Abigail sleeping with him. That girl managed to sneak into his bed yet again. He pinched her cheeks softly while smiling. Abigail was very attached to Harry from what he had seen. After a quick breakfast he told Petunia that he would be in his room reading the new books and he might not come for lunch.
After going to his room, Harry locked his room and got the magazines and sweet in the subspace pouch, ready to apparate to the Burrow. After reaching the Burrow, he softly knocked on the door and was greeted by Ginny, who seeing him gave a squeal and ran up into her room.
"Mrs. Weasley, Mr. Weasley", Harry greeted the couple.
"Harry, come on in", Mr. Weasley said with a smile.
Harry smiled as he entered and took a seat. Mrs. Weasley was clearing the kitchen table, which indicated that they had just finished breakfast. Molly smiled at him,
"Would you like something dear, water, juice or something?", she asked while giving him a hug.
"I would like some water, Mrs. Weasley", Harry said while returning her hug.
Mr. Weasley clapped him on his back, "Well young man, I have to go to work now. Did you needed something?"
"Not really Mr. Weasley. I just came by today because I didn't have time to talk to your son and daughter yesterday and shooed them away from the kitchen. I was hoping to get to know them better, Ron more so since he will be starting Hogwarts with me", Harry smiled.
Arthur smiled at that. Well if his son could have some friends that wouldn't be bad now would it. Even if it is Harry himself.
"Of course, Harry. Let me call them over for you"
"Ron.....Ginny....come downstairs. Harry is here to meet you guys!", Arthur calling them from the kitchen.
A scuffle of footsteps is heard as both of them hurry downstairs. Ron and Ginny came into the kitchen. Ginny was blushing and could hardly meet Harry's eyes which Harry found cute. Ron was looking embarrassed as well, probably due to what happened yesterday.
"Hi Ron...Hello Ginny. I am sorry about scaring the both of you yesterday. I thought we should get to know each other well Ron. Since we both will be starting Hogwarts together!"
"I um- am sorry forhittingyouyesterday", Ron mumbled.
Harry laughed.
"Don't worry about that. I was partly responsible for that as I scared you and as an apology, I have bought something for you guys"
Harry took out the Quidditch magazine and the sweets. Mrs. Weasley who was watching them turned to Harry.
"Harry dear, there is no need for that. You apologised to them, I think that's enough. No need for gifts dear"
"It's fine Mrs. Weasley. I intruded in your house without any prior notice. I should at least bring something"
Ron and Ginny were still eyeing the gifts not daring to take it.
"Oh go on dear, Harry has bought it for you guys. It would be bad manners if you refuse it"
Ron and Ginny's faces instantly lit up, as they reached out for the gifts. Harry smiled as Ginny squealed when her fingers touched Harry's hand. Goddamn she was cute. Anyways, Ron seemed to love the magazine and Ginny loved the sweets. Both of them couldn't stop stammering their thanks.
"Harry dear, we don't need any gifts. You just come by now and then and we will be happy to have you here"
"Of course, I'll come by Mrs. Weasley"
Harry, Ron and Ginny spent time playing wizard chess, flying up in the backyard quidditch court. He spent some good many hours before he decided to head back home. Mrs. Weasley wanted him to wait for lunch but Harry declined as he was scared his sister would be angry with him if he didn't go back. With a last goodbye, Harry disapparated back to his room.
