Otherworldly Interference

Chapter 1: Unfamiliar familiarity

Arthur woke up in a unfamiliar setting. A big bed in a equally big room, and surprisingly the ceiling looked like it was made of stone. The room surprisingly looked bigger than his usual room. He looked down to see that he was in the body of a 10 year old.

"The heck is this?..", started Arthur as he jumped from the bed to look at the mirror. What he saw was equally disturbing. Staring at him from behind the mirror was a 10 year old scrawny kid, with emerald eyes and a scar on his forehead that looked like a lighting bolt.

"No way...I am Harry Potter?", Arthur shocked. He remembered reading Harry Potter as a kid.

"This isn't real. I read those book during my childhood. But how am I him now?", Arthur asks to himself. Seems like Harry had somehow died here while he was sleeping and Arthur has been transported into his body.

"This surely has to be a dream right?", Arthur chuckled nervously. Right then there was a sharp knock at the door of his room. Petunia was calling him out for breakfast and she sounded sincere? He opens the door and there stood Aunt Petunia, waiting for him.

"Ah you are awake dear. Come on now we were waiting on you for breakfast.", Aunt Petunia said while kissing Harry's forehead.

Wait wait wait...dear? kisses? waiting for breakfast? the Dursleys? Harry's head starts spinning...this is not what I had read in the books. As he makes his way to the kitchen for breakfast, Mr. Dursley looks up with a smile. He was surprisingly not that big in diameter anymore. But Harry could still make out his face, even though he was slim now.

"Good morning, Harry. Had a good sleep?", he smiled.

"Uhh...yeah I think I did, um...Mr. Dursley", Harry spoke out unsure of what he should call him.

Vernon laughs, "Mr. Dursley? Oh come on Harry what happened to calling me Uncle Vernon?"

Harry gives a nervous chuckle, "I was just trying to pull a prank Uncle Vernon."

Inside his head Harry(Arthur) was screaming. What the actual heck is going on here...Uncle Vernon? Had a good sleep? Who are these people? Aren't they supposed to hate Harry? This is confusing me a lot now. What is going on here?

"Is Dudley not up yet Uncle?", Harry asked.

Vernon laughs loudly, "A good one Harry, another prank. You seem chipper today. But who is this Dudley you are talking about?"

This is not happening right now. Dudley did not exist in this world? This is completely wrong. Everything is wrong. As Harry looked around the kitchen, it didn't look like the Privet Drive at all. There were stone walls and it was surprisingly big. His eyes felt on Petunia and safe to say that Harry's brain short-circuited. She was preparing breakfast with her wand.

"Aunt Petunia, you are doing magic?", Harry asked in disbelieve. His aunt chuckled, "Harry it's not the first time you have seen me do magic and I can't figure out those Muggle Appliances for the love of my life. It's really interesting how they have come so far without the use of magic honestly."

Harry fainted. It was too much for him to process. He then woke up hours later in his bed with Petunia sitting beside him, holding his hand and looking concerned. By her side he saw a small girl, who looked rejoiced to see him awake.

"Um..who are you? ", Harry managed to speak weakly. The girl got tears in her eyes and looked up to Petunia. "Mommy, brother doesn't remember me" she cried. Wait brother? Things are not exactly going the way they should.

Petunia looks at Harry with concern in her eyes, "Are you having amnesia Harry? You don't remember Abigail? She is your sister for God's sake Harry."

"To be honest I don't remember anything Aunt Petunia", Harry whispered timidly. At this Petunia hugged him and kissed his head, "It will be okay Harry. We will fix this."

I'm sure you will Aunt Petunia. I am not even from this world and everything here is not what it is supposed to be. I mean you are being affectionate to me for God's sake. And the more weird part is I can tell it's sincere. Harry's mind was racing.

"It might help if you tell me about everything Aunt Petunia", Harry said with a small reassuring smile.

Days went by and Harry(Arthur) had caught up with everything. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon had taken him in when his parents were killed by Voldemort. And contrary to the original story, they were not muggles and were on good terms with his parents. They had a daughter named Abigail who was 7 years old and the biggest thing, they loved Harry like their own son. Harry had always been outgoing and happy with them and they said that he had shown signs of magic since they had taken him in.

"Now, I think I know all the spells and magic because of my knowledge, so I think I'll just try them out. Since magic is just the invocating the magical energy one has, I think I should be able to make it own my own through a much simpler process without a wand as well.", Harry thought. Harry went to Vernon and asked him to conjure up a small room for him to practice his magic in, which Vernon gladly did. He also asked for various books on magic, which were also given to him.

Once inside the room, Harry thought out the procedure of casting magic. One has to use there own magical energy and communicate with the surrounding magical energy to cast magic. A wand provides a medium for us to control the magical communication in a way that we want, but it's not exactly necessary for a wand to perform magic since all we have to do is use our own magic to cast the magic. Well it's possible in the theories at least.

"Let's start with a fireball, challenging enough but not that hard", Harry thought. After practicing to cast a fireball without much success he turned to get his theory corrected. He devoured through all the books that Vernon got him in the span of a week.

Fifth day of trying wandless magic, Harry goes into his room right after breakfast and chatting with his family for a while and requesting Vernon for some more advanced books on magic.

"Since I have revised my theory from the books, I think I should be able to make it now as long as my intentions are crystal clear in my head, my magic should respond to me to produce my desired outcome"

Harry closed his eyes and envisioned a flame. Harry raised his hand, "Incendio" and there was a bright flame flickering in mid air in front of Harry. It emitted a warm comforting glow, characterized by vibrant shades of red and yellow. Harry whooped, elated by his success. Next he wanted to see if he could produce the same effect without speaking an incantation.

Harry closed his eyes and raised his hand again and envisioned a bright flame in front of him, willing his magic to morph the reality to his desire. He opened his eyes and he couldn't believe it. He had pulled it off. There was a second flame next to the first one, flickering in mid-air. Elated by his success, he tried off all the magic he could think off and all of them worked the way he wanted it to. Now smirking to himself he thought, "Since I can do this already, I think I should develop them further." Little did Harry know that what he has done right now, surpassed the abilities of the one considered the greatest wizard of all time, Albus Dumbledore.

By the next Monday, Harry had gone through all the advanced books that Vernon had gotten him(yes they are rich). Harry was down for breakfast and was greeted as usual by his affectionate aunt and uncle. He didn't see Abigail yet so he made it to her room to wake her up. She was still sleeping soundly and looked really cute. Harry couldn't help but poke her cheeks.

"Come on Abigail, wake up. Brother is waiting for you to have breakfast", Harry said while rocking her slowly. Harry had to shake her for quite a while to wake her up. After she woke up she hugged Harry.

"Good morning brother. Carry me down", Abigail said with a grin.

Harry smiled at that and picked her up, "Ohh, come on you cutie, let's get you down for breakfast." As Harry picked her up, Abigail kissed his cheeks and let him carry her down.

Petunia spotted Harry carrying Abigail down and silently poked Vernon to look. They both smiled at the scene. Abigail was now really spoiled by Harry a lot, even though he seemed to be so reserved earlier. Harry set Abigail in her chair and went to give his aunt a hug.

"Oh, what happened Harry?", Aunt asked at Harry's sudden display of affection.

"Can I ask you for something Aunt Petunia?", Harry asked. At this Vernon looked up from The Daily Prophet towards Harry.

"Anything dear.. whatever you need," Petunia said with a smile.

"Can I call you Mum, from now?", Harry asked shyly.
