Chapter 54 - For Now, Shall We Head to the Dungeon? - 01
“If it’s okay with me! I’ll be your girlfriend!”
Kenya turned around, startled by the trembling voice he heard behind him. There stood a girl with golden hair, blue eyes, and most notably, a bright red face, standing straight and clenching her fists as if she were trembling.
“Reina!?”
“Kenya, does that mean what I think it means? It does, right?”
Reina was coming on strong, eager and insistent. Kenya, confused, took a step back.
“N-No, I just blurted it out! I just thought that whoever becomes Reina’s boyfriend will be really lucky…”
“I-I’ll make them happy! Definitely!”
“Reina, calm down!”
Kenya was flustered and couldn’t find the words. But as he had been thinking earlier, now wasn’t the right time.
Now wasn’t the time to take advantage of this situation, but his mind kept replaying, “What’s up with that? Want to talk?” over and over again.
I mentally beat down my sleazy male instincts to calm myself down. As I was thinking about how to get through this, the two tomboys walked into the room.
“Big brother?” “Reina?”
(Huh? Have their voices always been this deep?)
“What are you doing!?”
…
“I’m sorry, everyone. I caused trouble with my thoughtless words…”
“So, it was a misunderstanding… Sorry for getting carried away…”
“No, it’s my fault for saying something strange. I’m sorry.”
Kenya sat in seiza, scolded by Misuzu and Nana. He was reprimanded by both his sister and their housemate to be more careful with his words.
I’m really sorry. I’ll be more careful.
“Reina, you shouldn’t go overboard either!”
“I’m sorry…”
Reina looked downcast and sad. I wanted to hug her.
“So, um, have you all unpacked your things?”
I tried to change the subject.
“I’m done.”
“Me too.”
It seemed that Reina and Misuzu were also finished.
“I’m done too, so I thought I’d help you, Kenya…”
(She’s so kind…)
“Well, how about we head to the dungeon?”
It was around noon, and the dungeon was right in front of us. Even though we had formed a guild, we hadn’t gone to the dungeon in a while, so Kenya was eager to head to that tower.
(I haven’t properly tested out my new equipment and powers yet.)
Kenya, itching to test out his new powers, was like a child with a new toy.
“Sure.”
“Me too! Protect me, Senior♥”
“And for you, Nana, here’s this.”
“What’s this?”
Kenya handed Nana a black card. It gleamed black and looked cool—this was the so-called Black Card. He received it after depositing a large sum of money.
“It’s linked to my account. Buy whatever you like. I’d appreciate it if you could also pick up a refrigerator or something. Of course, you can also buy some clothes for yourself. As much as you want.”
“B-Big brother…”
Kenya’s account still had a balance exceeding hundreds of millions. Since their mother had fallen ill, his sister hadn’t been able to enjoy fashion, so this was a gift from her brother.
By the way, their mother knew about this house. She was surprised when they reported it to her, but she was the same as always. Kenya wanted to find the healing bracelet as soon as possible and cure his mother’s illness.
“Understood! Master! I’ll take care of all the household needs! Is it okay if it ends up being quite a bit?”
“Of course, use as much as you want.”
Nana saluted with a full smile in response. It’s been a while since she last went shopping. Go ahead and spend big. There’s plenty of money! Besides, we don’t even have futons yet, and we’re supposed to be living here starting today.
Shopping is something Nana always enjoyed, so this would be killing two birds with one stone. Shopping is good for stress relief, after all.
“Well, I’d rather go shopping than head to the dungeon…”
“He who does not work shall not eat.”
“Ugh…”
Misuzu also loved shopping, but in her case, she’d probably go on a spree buying brand-name items, so Kenya needed to keep an eye on her.
And so, Misuzu, Reina, and Kenya headed to the dungeon. Since it was right in front of them, they walked straight there. By the way, the dungeon’s first floor is open-air, with bridges stretching out in all directions.
“Senior, I’m not equipped with anything…”
“Ah, that’s why we’re making a quick stop first.”
