Chapter 4: Chapter:4
"Tch!"
Silver Axe, standing in the crowd, scoffed under his mask, his tone filled with disapproval. He curled his lips and muttered, "How could this kid compare to Linlin? She's a monster in a league of her own."
He continued, "You know as well as I do how hard Linlin's body is. If you're not a great swordsman, you won't even scratch her skin."
Although the boy in front of them was exceptionally tall, his body rippling with explosive muscle, his aura brimming with raw, untamed power, Silver Axe remained unconvinced.
"No one in this world comes close to Linlin's sheer physical talent," he said dismissively.
Linlin's natural gifts were unparalleled, and if she wasn't so obsessed with bearing children, Silver Axe believed she could easily surpass Whitebeard and Golden Lion to become the strongest leader of the Rocks Pirates.
Ochoku, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. Stroking his long black beard, he added, "True... But even if he isn't a super monster like Linlin, this kid's potential shouldn't be underestimated."
He smirked as he studied Ares, whose calm demeanor showed no hint of fear. "Let's see how the captain handles this one," Ochoku said, his tone tinged with amusement.
The pirates surrounding them were abuzz, eager to see what would happen next.
Suddenly, a booming voice cut through the chatter:
"Kid, you're not qualified to challenge the captain!"
"I'll be your opponent!"
The crowd parted as a towering figure stepped forward.
A monstrous pirate with two horns protruding from his head and a massive spiked mace slung over his shoulder emerged from the throng. His immense frame, standing seven to eight meters tall, dwarfed even the four-meter-tall Ares.
His bulging muscles, steel-like abs, and truck-sized chest made him a terrifying sight to behold. With every step, the ground seemed to tremble, and the pirates around him instinctively gave way.
"It's Kaido—the monster intern!"
Excited murmurs spread through the crowd.
"Tsk, Kaido's trying to make an impression on the captain by putting this kid in his place!"
"This will be good. Two little monsters going head-to-head. Who do you think will win?"
"It's got to be Kaido! He's twice the size of that boy!"
The pirates' shouts and cheers filled the air as the anticipation built.
Rocks, watching from the sidelines, grinned. "Hahaha... So, the newcomer Kaido wants to step up, huh?"
Among the newer recruits, Kaido stood out the most. Not only did he possess immense brute strength, but he was also ambitious and relentless—a combination Rocks admired.
"Go ahead, Kaido," Rocks said with a wicked smile. "Show me what you've got."
Kaido stepped forward, his shadow looming over Ares. His ferocious grin revealed sharp teeth as he growled, "Kid, you don't deserve to challenge the captain."
Resting his mace on the ground, he added, "But I'll teach you a lesson instead."
Ares, unfazed, raised his head to meet Kaido's gaze. His black-and-white eyes were steady, void of fear. "You want to fight me?" he asked calmly.
Kaido laughed, his deep voice reverberating through the air. "Fight you? No, kid. I'm here to teach you your place!"
Lifting his massive arm, its muscles bulging like stone pillars, Kaido swung a thunderous punch at Ares. The sheer force of the blow tore through the air, creating a deafening roar.
The pirates watched in stunned silence, their eyes wide.
Bang!
The impact sent Ares flying backward, his body crashing to the ground tens of meters away. Dust and debris filled the air as the boy landed with a heavy thud.
For a moment, the entire crowd—pirates and villagers alike—was stunned into silence.
Then, the jeering began.
"That's it? One punch and he's down?"
"Is he an idiot? Why didn't he dodge or block?!"
"I thought he'd put up a fight... Turns out he's just a fool!"
"Hahaha! Maybe that tiger he dragged back was already dead when he found it in the forest!"
The pirates erupted into laughter, their earlier excitement turning to disdain.
Golden Lion Shiki leaned against the railing, an amused smirk on his face. He glanced at Whitebeard, who stood nearby. Their eyes met, and a spark of understanding passed between them.
Both men were intrigued—not by the outcome of the fight, but by the boy himself.
Whitebeard chuckled softly, his interest in Ares only growing.
This boy isn't done yet, he thought, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
