months later]

Krillin stood at the shoreline, a small boat bobbing gently in the water before him. His backpack, packed with all his belongings, hung snugly on his shoulders. He turned to Master Roshi, who stood alongside Turtle, watching him with a proud yet nostalgic expression.

Krillin approached Roshi and bowed deeply. "Thank you, Master Roshi, for everything you've taught me. I wouldn't be who I am today without your guidance."

Master Roshi chuckled, waving his hand dismissively. "Ah, no need for all the formality, Krillin. You've worked hard, and I'm proud of you. Now, go make me even prouder!"

Krillin then bent down to pat Turtle gently on the shell. "Bye, Turtle. Thanks for being such a good friend."

Turtle nodded slowly. "Good luck out there, Krillin. Don't forget to visit!"

Finally, Krillin walked over to Goku. Without hesitation, he hugged his friend tightly. "Thanks for everything, buddy. I wouldn't have made it this far without you. Let's both keep getting stronger, alright?"

Goku grinned, clapping Krillin on the back. "Of course! Next time we meet, I'll be way stronger, so you'd better keep up!"

Krillin laughed, stepping back and climbing into the small boat. He waved to his friends one last time as he started to row away. "Take care, everyone! Until next time!"

As the boat drifted out onto the horizon, Goku, Roshi, and Turtle watched in silence, the gentle sound of the waves accompanying the start of another chapter in Krillin's life as a marine

[Year later]

Goku, now noticeably taller and more mature looking age 18, stood on the beach practicing his strikes. His punches sliced through the air with sharp precision, each one creating a small gust of wind. After a few more swings, he lowered his fists, satisfied, and turned toward Master Roshi and Turtle.

He approached them with a big grin. "Well, Master Roshi, Turtle, it's time for me to head out. Thank you for everything you've taught me. I'll make sure to keep getting stronger!"

Roshi adjusted his sunglasses. "You've come a long way, Goku. Keep working hard and never forget the basics. They'll take you further than you think."

Turtle nodded solemnly. "Take care, Goku. You've been a great student and an even better friend."

Goku gave a small bow, then stepped back, cupping his hands around his mouth. "Nimbus!" he shouted, and moments later, the yellow cloud zipped through the air toward him. He hopped onto it, looking down at Roshi and Turtle. "Goodbye, you two! I'll see you again someday!"

With that, Nimbus shot into the sky, carrying Goku away as the sun glinted off his orange gi. Roshi and Turtle remained standing on the beach, their faces calm and composed, watching until Goku disappeared into the horizon.

As soon as Goku was out of sight, Roshi let out a sniffle. Turtle turned to him, his own voice trembling. "He's really gone, huh?"

Roshi nodded, his sunglasses hiding the tears beginning to well up. Without a word, the two embraced each other, bawling loudly on the sandy shore. "He's all grown up!" Roshi wailed.

Turtle joined in. "I hope he remembers to visit!"

The two stayed like that for a while, letting their emotions flow

[Middle of the sea]

Goku soared across the sea atop his trusty Nimbus, the salty breeze whipping past him as his stomach let out a loud growl. "Man," he muttered, patting his belly, "I should've eaten more before leaving."

He looked down, scanning the horizon, when his eyes lit up at the sight of an island in the distance. A grin spread across his face as Nimbus picked up speed, heading straight for it.

Landing in the middle of a bustling port town, Goku's nose led him to a cozy-looking restaurant. With the little belli he had, he ordered a modest meal but soon couldn't resist ordering more and more as the aroma of freshly cooked food overwhelmed him

. He began to eat like a whirlwind, shocking the people who stared wide-eyed at the seemingly bottomless pit before them.

As Goku wolfed down his food, his ears perked up at a conversation nearby.

"Well, Koby," a cheerful voice said, "I think it's time for us to go our separate ways. I hope you join the Navy and become a great sailor!"

Goku turned slightly to see a young boy with a straw hat speaking to a pink-haired teen who was tearing up.

"Thank you, Luffy," the pink-haired boy replied, sniffling. "I hope you become a great pirate, even if we end up as enemies."

The one called Luffy grinned widely, his scar under his left eye crinkling. "Don't worry about that, Koby! You just do your best out there. Oh, and before I forget this place has Roronoa Zoro He's imprisoned here"

At the mention of that name, the entire bar went silent. The patrons quickly shuffled to the far corners of the room, whispering in hushed tones. Even the barkeep looked nervous, trying to act like he hadn't heard.

Goku, still chewing on a massive drumstick, perked up at the name. He swallowed quickly, his expression curious. "Roronoa Zoro?" he thought. " Is that the same guy from West Corp? What's he doing here?"

Still eating, Goku turned his full attention to the boy in the straw hat,

Goku wiped his mouth and stood up from his table, walking over to the boy with the straw hat and his pink-haired companion. "Hey, my name's Goku," he said with a big grin. "You guys know Zoro?"

The boy with the straw hat, Luffy, turned to Goku with an equally big smile. "Nope, but I'm here to invite him to join my crew!"

Goku's eyes lit up. "Zoro's an old friend of mine! I've gotta find him. Can I come with you to see him?"

Luffy tilted his head for a moment, then burst into laughter. "Sure! The more, the merrier!"

Koby blinked in confusion. "Wait, you know Roronoa Zoro? You're friends with that guy?"

"Yeah," Goku said casually, scratching the back of his head. "He's really strong. We sparred once, and I can't wait to see how much stronger he's gotten!"

Luffy clapped his hands together. "Great! Let's go get him right now!"

As the group started to leave the restaurant, the other people whispered nervously.

"Are they serious? They're really going to see that demon?"

"They'll never make it back alive..."

But Goku and Luffy paid no attention, Koby hesitated for a moment, then sighed and hurried after them. "Wait for me! You're going to need someone to explain where he is!"

The trio set off toward the naval base, where Zoro was being held. Goku grinned to himself, excited to reunite with his old friend

As they walked towards the naval base they saw a tall wall and they went looking over the wall, Koby suddenly froze, his eyes widening in fear. "T-That's... that's Zoro!" he whispered, his voice quivering.

Goku, with his smile, chuckled. "Yep, that's him. He hasn't changed a bit," he said, giving Koby a reassuring pat on the back.

Luffy grinned, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "He looks awesome! A real swordsman!"

Zoro tied up on a wooden crucifix, looked up, sensing something was off. His eyes narrowed as they landed on the trio, spotting Goku's distinctive spiky hair. "You three get ou—" But before he could finish his sentence, his eyes widened in disbelief. "Goku? Is that you?"

The little girl, holding a basket of rice balls, appeared next to the trio. She put a finger to her lips, signaling them to be quiet, and then walked toward Zoro.

Zoro eyed her warily. "What the hell do you want, kid? You got a death wish?" His voice was stern,

The little girl, undeterred, smiled brightly and held out the rice balls to him. "I made these for you! I know you're hungry."

Zoro scoffed, turning his head away. "Get away from me. I don't want that."

Before the girl could react, a loud, obnoxious voice called from the other side of the fence. A blonde-haired teen walked in, his head held high with an air of arrogance. "Roronoa Zoro, picking on kids now, huh?"

Zoro looked at the newcomer with a bored expression. The teen puffed out his chest, looking pleased with himself. "If you are, I'll go tell my dad"

Zoro's lips curled into a smirk "Oh, look, it's the idiot son who lives off Daddy's wealth." His tone was mocking.

Helmeppo's face flushed with anger as he clenched his fists. "I could get you killed for that"

Goku, still watching from the top of the wall, chuckled. "Looks like Zoro's still as stubborn as ever."

Helmeppo glanced down at the girl with a smug smile, his eyes lighting up when he saw the rice balls in her hands. "Oh, you brought me the rice balls?" he said, reaching out eagerly to take them from her.

The girl squealed in protest. "Hey! Give that back!" She tried to snatch them back, but Helmeppo was faster, already taking a big bite.

His expression immediately soured, and he spat the rice ball out with a grimace. "What is this? You put sugar in it... instead of salt?!"

The little girl trembled as Helmeppo slapped the rice ball from her hand, the food spilling onto the ground. She looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her hands shaking. "I-I'm sorry... I just thought you might like it sweet..." she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Helmeppo sneered, his arrogance clear as he scoffed. "Stupid girl. You don't know anything about food." He then stepped on the rice, crushing it underfoot with a smug grin.

The girl's eyes welled up as she watched the rice she'd worked so hard to make for Zoro get destroyed. "I worked so hard... I just wanted to help..." she cried, her voice breaking.

Helmeppo's smirk only widened as he looked down at her. "Well, too bad. You haven't read the law, have you? Anyone who helps a criminal in any way is to be executed. Signed by Captain Morgan himself," he declared, his voice dripping with malice.

The girl's body trembled as she stared up at him in horror, her eyes flickering between Helmeppo and the guards who stood nearby. "No, please... I didn't do anything wrong..." she pleaded, but her voice faltered in fear.

Helmeppo ignored her cries, turning to the guards. "You there, throw this brat away" he ordered, his tone filled with authority.

One of the guards, a burly man, stepped forward and grabbed the girl by the arm, yanking her away. She stumbled, her legs weak from the fear and the tears that blurred her vision. "Please, don't!"

The guard, looking flustered, quickly apologized, "I'm sorry about this!" hurled her away. But before she could hit the ground, Luffy's arm shot out, stretching impossibly long. He grabbed her mid-air, gently pulling her back into the ground

Helmeppo scoffed, turning to walk away, clearly uninterested. Meanwhile, Koby rushed over to the girl, his face full of concern. "Are you okay?" he asked, kneeling beside her.

But as Koby glanced up to check on Luffy and Goku, he was startled to see that both Goku and Luffy had disappeared. "Huh? Where'd they go?" Kob muttered, looking around in confusion.

Goku sprinted over to where Zoro was tied up, his face lighting up with excitement. "Zoro!" he called out, his voice full of enthusiasm.

Zoro, his face cracking into a smirk, gave a knowing look. "I did see right... You're really here, Goku?" he said, a hint of amusement in his tone.

Goku grinned widely, completely oblivious to the situation. "Hey, buddy!" he said cheerfully, his voice brimming with joy. "But uh... why are you tied up?" He tilted his head, genuinely puzzled by the sight.

Zoro sighed"Well, I'm here because I was eating, that guy's dog attacked that girl, and I stopped it. He didn't like that too much,"

Zoro explained with a scowl. "He told me that if I don't get tied up for a month, then she and her mom won't make it out alive."

He gritted his teeth, clearly not pleased with the situation. "So here I am, tied up for the past 3 weeks."

Luffy's eyes lit up as he realized just how good a guy Zoro really was. "Hey, why don't you join my crew?" Luffy asked, his usual grin spreading across his face.

Zoro's smirk faded slightly as he shook his head. "I'll never join a pirate crew," he said, his voice firm.

Luffy didn't skip a beat. "Well, people already know you as a vicious pirate hunter, Zoro," he said with a shrug, not phased by the refusal.

Zoro, however, just scoffed. "I don't care what people think. I've never done anything I regret, and I'll survive this." He glanced at his restraints, his tone filled with resolve.

Luffy raised an eyebrow, his smile widening. "I heard you were gonna join my crew, though."

Zoro shot him a glare. "You can't do that," he snapped, clearly not impressed.

Luffy, completely unbothered, shrugged again. "I heard you're the best swordsman around."

Zoro nodded a hint of pride in his voice. "Yeah, but that idiot's dad took my swords."

Luffy's grin grew even wider. "Guess I'll get 'em for you! So, if you want your sword, you're gonna need to join my crew."

Zoro's eyes narrowed a flicker of anger in his gaze. "It's over there," he said, pointing his head sharply toward a nearby base.

Goku, who had been quietly observing, grinned and jumped in, "I'll stay here and untie Zoro while you get his swords "

As Luffy made his way toward the base, Goku and Koby had just started untying Zoro when a menacing voice cut through the air. "End of the line," Axe Hand Morgan sneered, stepping into view with a cruel grin. "I've sentenced you all to death for treason."

A squad of marines emerged, their guns aimed squarely at Zoro, Goku, and Koby. The tension was thick. Without hesitation, Goku looked at Koby and said, "Keep untying him," his voice calm yet filled with resolve. He took his fighting stance, gripping his power pole

Axe Hand Morgan barked, "Shoot them!" The marines raised their guns and fired, the sound of the shots ringing through the air. But just as the bullets were about to hit, a familiar voice rang out, stopping them in their tracks.

"Not so fast!" Luffy appeared out of nowhere, from the air leaping into the scene with three swords strapped to his back, his usual carefree grin plastered across his face. In a flash, the bullets hit him, only to pass right through his body, bouncing harmlessly off him as if he were made of rubber.

Luffy burst into laughter. "Haha! That's not gonna work on me!" he cheered, his laughter echoing

Axe Hand Morgan stared in disbelief, his jaw nearly hitting the ground. "What the—?!" he sputtered.

Goku grinned, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Amazing!" he exclaimed, thoroughly impressed by Luffy's abilities

Zoro, still tied up and a little stunned, narrowed his eyes at Luffy. "Who even are you?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief. He had never seen anyone quite like this before

Meanwhile, Koby's face lit up with excitement, his hands practically vibrating. "That was so cool, Luffy!" he cheered

Luffy laughed as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "I'm Monkey D Luffy and I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!"
