Chapter 14: chapter 11
GIVE ME POWERSe AND ADD TO COLLECTIONS
Goku blinked a few times, his vision blurry as he stirred awake. The first thing he heard was Bulma's voice calling to him. "Hey, Goku, wake up!"
Slowly, he sat up, looking around to see Bulma, Krillin, Johnny, and Yosaku standing over him.
Bulma let out a relieved sigh as she surveyed the destruction around them, her hands on her hips. "At least I have the island back," she muttered, trying to find the silver lining in the chaos.
Turning back to the group, she smiled warmly and gave a small bow. "Thank you, everyone."
Zoro crossed his arms and shrugged. "Whatever," he said, brushing it off as he leaned against A piece of rubble
Goku grinned and raised a thumbs-up. "No problem, Bulma!"
Johnny and Yoasuke mimicked Goku's gesture, both raising their thumbs and chiming in together, "You're welcome, Big Sis Bulma!"
Krillin, ever the supportive friend, joined in with a smile. "You're welcome, Bulma."
Goku then rubbed the back of his head, still groggy. "What happened?" he asked, looking around at the group.
Zoro glanced at him, his arms still crossed. "When we made our way to the city," he began, his tone casual, "we just found you knocked out on the ground."
Goku blinked in surprise. "Knocked out? Really?"
Krillin chuckled nervously. "Yeah, you were just lying there in the middle of all the destruction. Looked like you had one heck of a fight."
Johnny leaned in with a grin. "Whatever you were fighting must've been something fierce, huh, big bro Goku?"
"Yeah, but you still won, right?" Yoasuke added, clearly impressed.
Goku scratched his head, trying to piece things together. "I guess so... but man, I don't remember much after I saw that big guy in the mech."
Bulma chimed in, rolling her eyes. "Well, whatever happened, I'm just glad you're okay."
Goku gave a sheepish laugh, raising his hand in the air. "Thanks, guys. Guess I owe you one"
Zoro smirked, glancing off toward the horizon. "Just don't get knocked out again. Makes the rest of us look bad."
In the short time Zoro had spent with Goku, he had grown to respect the spiky-haired fighter for his strength and determination. As Goku stretched his arms, loosening up after the ordeal, he turned to Zoro with a grin.
"Hey, Zoro," Goku called out, his excitement evident. "How about a spar?"
Zoro's smirk grew as he adjusted his swords. "Yeah, sure. Let's see what you've got."
Before they could act, Bulma stepped between them, hands on her hips and an exasperated look on her face. "Are you two crazy? Both of you are injured from fighting like maniacs! You need rest, not more battle scars!"
She gestured toward the smoldering remnants of the city. "And besides, I need to call Naval HQ and report everything that happened here. There's no time for your silly sparring matches!"
Goku rubbed the back of his head, chuckling sheepishly. "I guess she's got a point"
Zoro shrugged, crossing his arms again. "Fine. We'll settle this another time, then."
"Good," Bulma said, rolling her eyes. "Honestly, you're both impossible."
Despite her scolding, Zoro and Goku exchanged a look of mutual respect.
Bulma walked into the large dome, the sound of her heels echoing through the mostly silent base.
She made her way to the communication room, her eyes scanning the aftermath of the chaos that had unfolded. Amid the scattered equipment, she found a special Den Den Mushi nestled among the wreckage.
Picking it up, she dialed the frequency for Naval HQ in Marineford.
The snail's face shifted, taking on a calm and authoritative expression as Fleet Admiral Sengoku answered. "This is Sengoku. What's the situation?"
Bulma took a deep breath, her voice steady but urgent. "This is Bulma Briefs. I'm calling from West Corp Island that was under Red Ribbon Army control. We've taken care of most of the threats, but the island is in ruins, and I need Marines here to secure it"
Sengoku nodded, his brow furrowed. "Understood. I'll send a team immediately. Stay there and make sure the situation remains stable."
He ended the call and turned to the officers around him, issuing commands. Soon after, he reached out to Admiral Kizaru, who was aboard a World Government ship.
The snail with Kizaru's likeness answered, his lazy voice carrying over the line. "Yesss, Sengoku-san. I'm aware of the situation. There's already a Marine ship en route to the island. I just had to... handle something first."
Kizaru leaned against the ship's railing, his light-infused finger tracing lazy circles in the air. Behind him, Dr. Gero stood on the deck, glaring at the horizon as sailors carried a stretcher holding his son's lifeless body. Gero's expression was cold, his grief hidden behind a mask of determination.
Kizaru glanced back at him and chuckled lightly. "Quite the mess, isn't it? Well, don't worry, Doctor. We'll get you to your destination."
Gero didn't respond, his thoughts consumed by his loss and his plans for revenge. The World Government ship sailed on,
Kizaru stood at the bow of the World Government ship, his body shimmering as beams of golden light began to emit from him. "Well, it seems I have some business to attend to," he said lazily, stretching his arms. Without a moment's hesitation, he transformed into a streak of light and shot into the sky, arcing toward West Corp Island.
On the island, Zoro squinted, shielding his eyes. "A star in the daytime? That's odd," he muttered, standing up.
The light streak descended rapidly, slamming into the ground near the city with a radiant explosion of brilliance. Dust and debris flew in all directions as the figure of Admiral Kizaru materialized from the light, his hands casually in his pockets and his ever-relaxed smirk on his face.
"Well, well," Kizaru said, scanning the area. His eyes landed on Zoro and the others. "Are you the ones from that Red Ribbon Army* causing all this trouble? Or perhaps you're just more pirates stirring up chaos? Hmm?"
Before Zoro could respond, his hand instinctively reaching for his swords, Bulma burst out of the West Corp building, waving her hands. "Stop!, they're not Red Ribbon! They're the ones who helped me take back my island!"
Kizaru turned his head slightly, his expression as calm as ever. "Oh? Is that so? Well, that certainly makes things... easier." He glanced at Zoro, who still looked ready to fight, then at Bulma. "You must be the one who called Marineford. Quite the mess you've got here."
Bulma crossed her arms. "It's under control now, thanks to them. But we need Marines here to clean up and secure the area."
Kizaru let out a soft laugh, tilting his head. "Hmm, that's good to know. But you understand why I had to check. Can't have any loose ends running around, now can we?"
Zoro scoffed, his hand leaving his sword. "You'd better watch your tone, old man."
Kizaru's eyes twinkled as he chuckled. "Oh my, such hostility. But don't worry, I'm not here to pick a fight... unless I need to."
Bulma stepped between them, her tone firm. "There's no need for fighting, Admiral. Just do your job and make sure this island is safe."
Kizaru raised his hands in mock surrender, the golden light still faintly radiating from his body. "Relax, miss. I'll take care of it. After all, I'm just a humble Admiral"
Goku, Krillin, Johnny, and Yoasuke stood off to the side, observing the imposing Admiral with mixed reactions.
Goku tilted his head, scratching it as he spoke up. "Hey, who's this guy? He's got a weird vibe about him."
Krillin stepped closer, lowering his voice. "Goku, that's Admiral Kizaru! One of the Navy's top guys. He's no joke! He could probably blast this whole island if he felt like it."
Johnny crossed his arms, leaning toward Yoasuke. "Man, why does every Marine look so smug? Can't they just chill for once?"
Yoasuke nodded, adjusting his bandana. "Yeah, no kidding. But something about this guy feels... different. Like he's not even trying to act tough. That's the scary part."
Goku grinned, his fists clenching. "He's strong, huh? Maybe we should spar a little!"
Krillin's eyes widened, and he waved his arms frantically. "No, no, no! Are you crazy, Goku? That's an Admiral! You don't just pick fights with guys like him!"
Johnny laughed nervously. "Yeah, Goku, let's not turn this island into a crater, alright? Big Sis Bulma would kill us."
Yoasuke smirked, "Besides, we've already had our hands full today. Let's not add a world-class Marine to the list."
Kizaru's gaze briefly flicked toward them, his calm expression unchanging. "Oh my, such lively young men. Are you friends of the swordsman over there?"
Goku stepped forward, grinning. "Yup! That's Zoro. He's super strong, and he's my buddy. You look pretty tough too—wanna see who's stronger?"
Krillin grabbed Goku by the arm, tugging him back. "Goku! Stop! He's not here to fight us!"
Kizaru chuckled, the corners of his mouth lifting in amusement. "Such enthusiasm. Maybe another time, young man. For now, I'll just observe. After all, I'm not here to cause trouble... unless it's necessary."
Krillin muttering, "Yeah, let's hope it doesn't come to that..."
As the Marines began pulling in the remaining Red Ribbon Army members, cuffing them, and hauling them off the island, things began to settle down. The once chaotic scene was slowly becoming more orderly, with the threat officially neutralized.
Kizaru, who had been standing by watching the operation, looked over at the marines as they rounded up the last of the Red Ribbon soldiers.
His eyes flickered to Bulma, who was watching the scene unfold, her arms crossed and her expression slightly relieved.
"Well, it looks like everything's in order here," Kizaru said lazily, stretching his arms. "Nothing more for me to do. Take care, miss."
Without another word, he shot into the sky, his golden streak of light leaving the island in mere moments. His departure was swift, leaving behind only the faintest trail of light.
From the woods behind many marines, Dr. Briefs stepped in front, his eyes scanning the area. His gaze quickly found his daughter, and with a burst of speed, he rushed over to her.
"Bulma!" Dr. Briefs exclaimed, his voice full of concern. He wrapped her in a tight hug, his relief evident. "I was so worried about you! What happened here? Are you alright?"
Bulma sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I'm fine, Dad. Really. It was a tough fight, but we got it all under control. The Marines are here to clean up the rest."
Dr. Briefs pulled back, still visibly shaken but relieved. "I don't care about the rest of the world's problems, as long as you're safe."
Bulma smiled warmly, resting a hand on his shoulder. "I'm fine, Dad. Everyone's safe. We did it."
Behind them, Goku, Krillin, Johnny, Yosaku, and Zoro watched the reunion, The battle had been hard, but now it was over. The island was safe, and the Red Ribbon army was no more
As the Marines worked to secure the remaining Red Ribbon Army members, the team stood together, knowing their job was done. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the island.
Dr. Briefs walked up to the group, a grateful smile on his face as he looked over each of them. "Thank you, all of you," he said, his voice sincere. "I don't know what we would've done without you."
He then pulled out a small capsule and tossed it onto the ground. With a puff of smoke, a large buffet of food appeared, filling the area with the rich scent of freshly cooked meals.
"I thought you all might be hungry after all that," Dr. Briefs said, chuckling. "Dig in!"
Goku, Krillin, Johnny, Yosaku, and Zoro didn't need to be told twice. They pounced on the food, grabbing plates and diving in with the enthusiasm of people who hadn't eaten a full meal.
Goku practically inhaled his food, while Krillin, Johnny, and Yosaku made sure to pace themselves, though they were still devouring everything in sight.
Zoro, however, took his time, savoring each bite but never one to waste food. He glanced around at the others before offering a half-hearted grunt of approval. "This isn't bad," he mumbled between mouthfuls.
Bulma watched the scene, shaking her head with a soft smile. She then turned to Zoro, Johnny, and Yosaku
. "For your help, I'll make sure to pay you all properly." She pulled out a small pouch of Belli from her pocket and handed it to them. "Here's your payment, as promised."
Zoro, Johnny, and Yosaku looked at the pouch for a moment. Johnny took it first, smiling at Bulma. "Thanks, big sis!" he said with a wide grin.
Yosaku chuckled. "This was fun. I'm glad we could help out." He glanced at Zoro, who simply nodded in acknowledgment.
Zoro took the pouch, his expression as stoic as ever, but there was a slight glimmer of appreciation in his eyes. "Thanks," he said simply, tucking it into his cloth
Goku, having finished his plate, leaned back with a contented sigh. "That was great! But I'm still hungry...!"
Bulma raised an eyebrow, eyeing Goku. "You've already eaten enough for two people!"
Goku grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "Well, I guess I'll just save room for the next meal!"
Everyone laughed, the tension from the earlier chaos finally easing as the group enjoyed the moment of peace.
Goku stood up from the table, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He grinned at Zoro, his eyes sparkling with energy. "Hey, Zoro," Goku said, his voice filled with excitement. "How about that spar?"
Zoro, never one to back down from a challenge, smirked as he stood up, cracking his knuckles. "Sure, why not? I could use some fun."
The group, along with the remaining marines, watched as Goku and Zoro faced off. Goku gripped his Power Pole tightly, while Zoro unsheathed his swords, holding them with his usual confident stance.
The battle began quickly. Goku dashed forward with surprising speed, swinging his Power Pole like a staff to land a quick blow. Zoro reacted in an instant, using his swords to parry the strike.
Goku spun his pole around, trying to land a hit on Zoro's side, but Zoro was quick to block, and then countered with a powerful slash aimed at Goku's chest. Goku leaped back just in time, his eyes focused and sharp.
Zoro smiled, impressed by Goku's agility. "You're faster than you look," he muttered, then lunged forward with a flurry of strikes. Goku dodged, his pole swinging to block, the two warriors exchanging rapid blows that sent shockwaves through the air.
The fight continued at a fast pace, both showing off their skill and determination. Goku's speed with the Power Pole and Zoro's precision with his swords made for an exciting match.
Finally, after a series of exchanges, Goku took a step back, a grin on his face. He dropped his Power Pole down to his side, his chest heaving with exertion but his smile wide. "You're strong, Zoro," he said, his voice filled with genuine respect.
Zoro sheathed his swords with a smirk. "You're not bad yourself, Goku.."
The crowd of marines and the others, including Bulma, Krillin, Johnny, and Yosaku, clapped, impressed by the sparring match. Even the marines, who had been standing around observing the scene, seemed to respect the fight.
Krillin stood up from the table, stretching his arms. "Well, I think it's time for me and Goku to head out," he said, his voice calm but filled with purpose.
Zoro gave a lazy nod. "Yeah, I'm sure you've got your own business to attend to. It's been fun." He stood up
Johnny and Yosaku, stood up as well, ready to see their friends off. "We'll catch up later," Johnny said with a grin. "Take care out there!"
Goku, still smiling, turned to Bulma, Johnny, and Yosaku. "Thanks for everything! We'll see you again soon!" His voice was filled with warmth
"Yeah, take care!" Krillin waved goodbye as Goku called for Nimbus.
With a yell, Goku summoned the golden cloud, and it appeared beneath him in a flash. He jumped onto Nimbus with ease, and Krillin quickly hopped onto his back
.As they prepared to leave, Goku looked over at Zoro, who was standing with his arms crossed, still watching the group.
"Zoro, when we meet again, I want you to be even stronger!" Goku said, his voice filled with determination.
Zoro smirked, cracking his knuckles. "You better get stronger too, Goku. Don't think I'll let you get ahead of me."
With that, Goku gave a thumbs-up to Zoro, then turned to the others. "Alright, we're off! See you all soon!"
With a wave, Goku kicked Nimbus into motion, and the cloud shot into the sky, carrying Goku and Krillin
Zoro, watching them leave, nodded to himself. "Next time, Goku... next time."
As Goku and Krillin soared across the sky, the warm orange glow of the setting sun painted the clouds beneath them. Goku, with his ever-present excitement, turned to Krillin and asked, "Hey Krillin, do you think there will be even stronger people out there?"
Krillin glanced at him, his expression thoughtful for a moment before he nodded. "Definitely, Goku. There are always stronger opponents out there. We'll keep getting stronger, too."
Goku's face broke into a wide grin, and he let out a hearty laugh. "Heh, I can't wait to find them!"
With that, Goku guided the Nimbus cloud into the setting sun, their figures silhouetted against the vibrant sky as they flew toward the horizon, ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. The world was vast, and their adventure was just beginning.
