One Piece: Wielder of the Void

Chapter 199: 199. Enel's perspective

----

Although the battle between the three warriors had concluded, General Fujitora (Issho) had firmly established his authority in the role of a General.

No one doubted or objected to his position anymore. His overwhelming strength had silenced any dissent, leaving the audience in awe.

However, his final move, though spectacular, caused greater panic than anticipated.

As everyone busily returned to their training and tasks, a teenage boy stood frozen, his jaw slack, and his eyes wide with disbelief. That boy was Enel.

For Enel, this was his first time witnessing a battle of such magnitude as a clash between titans. And he wasn't alone in his shock.

The sheer power displayed in such a short time was enough to plunge anyone into despair.

The devastating attacks exchanged among the three combatants appeared capable of obliterating everything in their path.

Even the weakest of the three, Daiki, managed to deliver a final blow that left everyone stunned.

"So, this is what it means to be truly strong? That's incredible!" Enel murmured, still lost in awe.

"You're only scratching the surface," a voice said behind him. Startled, Enel turned to find Zen, his mentor, who patted him on the shoulder with a knowing smile.

Zen's eyes glimmered with amusement as Enel blurted out, "Brother Zen, do you think I can become as powerful as them someday?"

Zen chuckled softly but didn't dismiss the boy's dreams. Enel was his protégé, and over the past month, he'd seen great potential in the young man.

"Do you know where General Fujitora comes from?" Zen asked.

When Enel shook his head, Zen continued, "That man, despite his blindness, was personally selected and honoured by His Majesty, King Anos. When Fujitora first arrived, many doubted him. After all, who would think a blind man could be so strong? But His Majesty, with his unparalleled insight, hosted him with the highest royal honours. And now, no one dares question Fujitora's might."

Enel nodded, though he still looked confused. "Brother Zen, what are you trying to say?"

Zen smiled patiently. "What I mean is that His Majesty's judgment is unmatched. If King Anos sees potential in you, it means your future holds great things. But that depends on your dedication to your training."

Zen's words lingered in Enel's mind as the older man kept his reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder.

Meanwhile, on Skypiea, tension lingered in the air. Angel Island's residents and the Shandians had begun mending their long-standing rift, though relations were still fragile.

Amidst this backdrop, Gan Fall, the former god of Skypiea, and Wyper, a Shandian warrior, converged near the ruins of Shandora.

"Gan Fall, why are you here?" Wyper asked, his tone more worried than curious.

Gan Fall, mounted on his Pegasus, replied gravely, "The panic on Angel Island is growing. I couldn't just sit idly by. What about the people in the Tru Kingdom? How are they faring? Something needs to be done before the situation worsens."

Wyper frowned. "I had the same thought. But we don't know what's happening in Apayado. Whatever it was, that meteorite was no ordinary event."

Before they could proceed further, a squad of twenty men in black combat uniforms emerged from the forest. Their expressions were serious, their presence commanding.

"Turn back," one of them ordered firmly. "Inform your tribes that everything in Apayado is under control. There's no need for concern."

At the head of this group was Daiki, a capable Marine officer stationed at the hidden base in Apayado. His voice carried authority as he addressed the two warriors.

"We saw the meteorite fall!" Gan Fall said, his worry evident. "How can you claim everything is fine after such destruction?"

Wyper added, "The commotion was massive, even by your standards. What's really going on?"

Daiki maintained his composure. "Rest assured, no harm has come to anyone. However, we need your cooperation to calm the populace. As for supplies, the next shipment will arrive in three days as scheduled. We'll personally deliver them to Angel Island."

Though sceptical, Gan Fall and Wyper understood the gravity of the situation. After exchanging a glance, they relented.

"Very well," Gan Fall said. "We'll ensure the people remain calm. But don't hesitate to call for our help if needed."

"Appreciated," Daiki replied with a nod. "Now, please return to your tribes and reassure them. The less panic, the better for everyone."

As Gan Fall and Wyper departed, Daiki led his men back toward the military base. The base's existence remained a closely guarded secret.

While the people of Skypiea knew of its presence, the details were hidden to prevent widespread fear.

Daiki knew it was only a matter of time before more questions arose. For now, however, the secrecy of the base and its role in Skypiea's defence was paramount.
