The warehouse was littered with over twenty small, boxy containers scattered across the ground.
While the quantity was considerable, to the Celestial Dragons, such items were nothing more than trifling playthings.
Few among the Celestial Dragons were foolish enough to eat Devil Fruits. For them, becoming stronger held no real value they were already insulated from harm by the status they were born into.
Standing at the pinnacle of this world, these Devil Fruits had long become dispensable to them.
Besides, consuming a Devil Fruit would strip them of their ability to swim, which to this privileged group seemed an unnecessary loss.
The Devil Fruits now placed before him, however, weren't ordinary. Since they were stored in the treasury, they likely held significant value.
Anos picked up one of the boxes. Inside, as expected, was a Devil Fruit. Setting it down, he picked the same contents.
The gold and silver treasures scattered across the floor were of no interest to him.
He barely spared them a glance; their worth paled compared to the strategic value of these Devil Fruits.
For the Tru Kingdom, this abundance of Devil Fruits could be a game-changer, vastly bolstering their strength.
Anos examined the boxes of Devil Fruits scattered before him, then casually stored them within his space ability. Everything had its use, after all.
One particular Devil Fruit, however, occupied his thoughts. It was a Psychic-type Devil Fruit he had acquired from CP2, a fruit with tremendous potential.
If only he could consume a second Devil Fruit, he might have already eaten it without hesitation.
"Using a second Devil Fruit..." Anos muttered to himself as his gaze wandered to the treasures around him. A sudden thought struck him, and he smiled.
In the blink of an eye, he disappeared from the royal treasury and reappeared in his chambers. Outside, a maid stood quietly, awaiting his orders.
Opening the door, Anos addressed her, "Suzu should have returned by now. Tell her to come see me tomorrow morning."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" the maid responded promptly.
Satisfied, Anos closed the door and lay down on the bed, immersing himself in his system space.
The system had been his guiding force, though every action came at a cost. Despite the expenses, Anos didn't mind his wealth was vast enough to make even the most absurd demands manageable.
"System, how can I consume a second Devil Fruit?" Anos asked decisively.
The large blue screen in the system space flickered for a moment before displaying a simple response:
[ 500 billion Beris to eliminate the side effects of the first Devil Fruit, enabling the consumption of a second ]
Reading this, Anos almost choked. He had recently acquired over a trillion Beris, yet this one query threatened to drain nearly half of it.
Still, the prospect of gaining such power tempted him.
For the Tru Kingdom, financial concerns were fleeting. The wealth stored in the royal treasury alone exceeded 100 billion Beris, and future revenues would soon pour in.
Even so, Anos hesitated. The price was steep 500 billion Beris could buy enough influence to dominate the world.
But after much deliberation, he made his choice. Taking a deep breath, he declared to the system, "Deduct the 500 billion Beris and remove the side effects of the Space Devil Fruit!"
The system balance adjusted instantly, leaving him with just over 500 billion Beris.
Yet, this sacrifice would be worth it if the effects were as promised.
Although the side effects of Devil Fruits typically manifested only in contact with seawater, the removal of this limitation opened new possibilities.
Anos could now wield the power of a second Devil Fruit without fear.
To test the system's claim, Anos ventured out at midnight. With a wave of his hand, he created a spatial vortex and stepped through, emerging on a quiet beach.
The night air was cool, and gentle waves lapped against the shore. Anos cautiously approached the edge of the water, hesitating slightly before dipping his fingers in.
For now, this small act was all he dared to attempt. If the system's promise proved false, the consequences of falling into the sea could be catastrophic.
