Chapter 26: 26. Feed Me!
"What?"
"Are you sure there's nothing wrong with laughing like that?"
Marsh felt completely baffled.
In the middle of the night, tearing through the roofs of two rooms in a row…is it that time of the month?
"What rank are you now?" Gion suddenly asked.
"Huh? I just enlisted today and got assigned as your personal guard, I don't have any rank yet." Marsh replied, even more confused.
"You just became a marine today? And I'm the one who assigned you?"
"Yeah!"
Hearing Marsh's immediate response, Gion frowned.
In her memory, this guy's father was a commander, so how could he just now become a marine... and end up as a guard, no less?
It seems that dreams and reality really are opposites.
But now that this guy was her subordinate, there'd be no problem if she just cut him down with her sword, right?
No! She had already killed him once, but in that moment when he died by her blade, she only felt an endless emptiness.
She'd even lost her purpose in life!
Now she had a chance to relive it…
Yes!
She had to humiliate him endlessly, just as he had done to her!
"So, are you going to follow my orders or not?"
"Technically, yes." Marsh nodded.
"'Technically'? Isn't following superiors the most basic rule in the navy?" Gion squinted her eyes.
As expected, this guy is rotten to the core!
"But I still have my principles of justice. If you order me to massacre innocent civilians, I certainly won't do it!" Marsh's answer completely caught her off guard.
"Hmph, like I'd ever make you kill civilians!"
At that moment, Gion hesitated.
She remembered her days as a pirate, where her hands were stained with the blood of countless civilians.
'It's not my fault! It's this scumbag's fault!'
Her hatred toward him only deepened!
"I order you to find food and bring it to me within three minutes!" Gion commanded in a calm voice.
"Huh?"
Marsh was taken aback. So she was hungry in the middle of the night and just wanted him to get her something to eat?
A personal guard's duty was to ensure the safety of their superior.
And technically, hunger was a threat to her safety…
Marsh inwardly rolled his eyes.
No matter what world you're in, a hungry woman is terrifying.
The next moment, he vanished from her sight.
"Tsk... the way he uses that move is impressive!"
…
Two minutes later, Marsh returned with a bag of wild fruits.
"This is what you got me to eat?" Gion looked at the still-slightly-green fruits, her expression darkening.
"Reporting, ma'am! The kitchen's out of leftovers, and the chef is already asleep. Waking him up now might delay breakfast for the soldiers tomorrow, so I went to the woods to pick some fruit."
The woods over there?
Gion turned her head, and at the far edge of her vision, she could see a green patch.
But that patch was at least a kilometer away from here!
So this guy ran several kilometers in two minutes? And without breaking a sweat?
And since when did this scumbag care about the chef or ordinary marines?
Forget it, that's not the priority right now.
"I want you to feed these to me." Gion said with a cold smile.
"Excuse me, did I hear that right?" Marsh blinked, asking.
"You heard right. I want you to feed me!" Gion huffed, leaning closer.
She was nearly pressing against Marsh's head.
Marsh quickly pulled his head back.
"What's wrong?" Gion's expression darkened. "Are you going to defy orders?"
Marsh scratched his head awkwardly and said, "Ma'am, here's the thing. Before I went to bed, I used the bathroom and didn't wash my hands. But if you don't mind, I'll feed you."
"You disgusting scumbag, you didn't wash your hands after using the bathroom?" Gion frowned, scolding him.
Wait, not washing hands makes him a scumbag?
This accusation felt a bit random.
"Because, I can aim without touching, controlling the curve and angle freely! So there's no need to wash my hands, right?"
The more Gion listened, the more her expression darkened, and she growled, "Can't you go wash your hands now?"
But Marsh pointed at the restroom that Gion had slashed open with her sword, the message clear.
"Then wash them in the sea!" Gion gritted her teeth, gesturing to the ocean.
"The salt in seawater is intense. I'm afraid it'll affect the taste of the fruit if I feed it to you afterward."
"Oh, thank you so much for that! Now go!"
With that, Gion grabbed Marsh by his collar and dragged him toward the sea.
But perhaps because she hadn't fully adjusted to this body, just as they were about to reach the shore, she stumbled, plunging herself and Marsh headfirst into the water!
