"What!?"
Magellan moved quickly, using the poison channel to advance.
Following the destroyed elevator, he rushed from the fourth level, Blazing Hell, up to the first level.
His pupils shrank, his face turned pale, and his expression was filled with shock and fury.
He saw bodies lying everywhere, blood covering the scene.
"Damn it, Shiryu of the Rain!"
Magellan roared in anger, his voice echoing through the prison.
Despite his rage, the poison channel kept surging forward, extending toward the entrance of Impel Down.
His sharp eyes scanned the area and landed on the poisonous wall he had created earlier.
It was completely destroyed, pierced through with brutal force.
Out on the calm sea, a massive warship floated in the distance.
The ship had followed Magellan's orders and moved away from the outskirts of Impel Down.
"Hey, there's no need to wait for Magellan..."
In the distance, a faint black figure could be seen using Moonwalk, speeding toward the Calm Belt at an incredible pace, growing smaller and smaller as it disappeared.
The crew on the warship could only watch in awe, realizing there was no chance of catching up.
Back at the prison, Magellan stood there with a pale face, frustration written all over him.
His fists were clenched tightly, veins bulging as he growled, "Shiryu of the Rain!"
Gritting his teeth, he turned to the prison guards and barked, "Report this to Marines Headquarters immediately!"
Ten minutes later...
Behind the massive Gate of Justice, a giant snow-white eagle flapped its wings, soaring into the air.
It flew against the whirlpool currents, heading toward Enies Lobby.
On its back were two figures: Wilhelm and Shiryu of the Rain, who had just defected from Impel Down.
"Everything went smoothly," Shiryu said with a sneer, tossing away his cigar. "Magellan won't suspect a thing... though I almost couldn't resist killing him back there!"
In the past, he might have feared Magellan's deadly poison. Their strengths were once comparable.
But now, with the power of the Momo Momo no Mi enhancing him, Shiryu was confident he could easily defeat Magellan.
"It wouldn't take much effort to take him down," Shiryu said. "After all, aside from the dangerous Doku Doku no Mi, which gives him an edge in Impel Down's tight spaces, Magellan isn't all that strong!"
Wilhelm shrugged. "True, but if we got rid of him, the World Government would probably send two new, incredibly strong individuals to replace him as the director and warden. That could cause trouble for our future plans to 'harvest' from the prison."
"Let him stay as the watchdog of Impel Down!"
"Boom—"
Marines Headquarters, Marineford.
At the highest floor of the massive Marine building, inside the Marshal's office:
"What did you say?"
The enormous desk groaned as it broke apart.
Kong, the Marine Marshal, was shocked and furious. He looked at Sengoku, who had come to report, in disbelief: "Shiryu, the guard of Impel Down, the world's largest deep-sea prison, has defected?"
He never imagined this would happen.
Shiryu, the head guard of Impel Down, was one of the two top bosses of the prison, known as the "Bronze Wall and Iron Wall" alongside Magellan.
To suddenly hear that he had defected was completely unbelievable and made Kong both shocked and angry.
"Marshal Kong, the information has been confirmed. This was just reported by Magellan, the director of Impel Down..."
Sengoku, the Buddha, said solemnly. "Apparently, Shiryu defected because he was dissatisfied with the World Government and Marines Headquarters forcing him to stay in Impel Down."
Before he left, Shiryu took a big risk...
"Resentful? What does that bastard think about justice..."
Kong's face turned pale with rage.
But then, he regained his composure and stared at Sengoku: "Wait, Sengoku, you said he took a huge gamble before leaving? What do you mean?"
Sengoku clenched his fists and spoke with a grim expression: "Over the past two months, Shiryu of the Rain has killed several dangerous criminals in Eternal Hell, including the 'World Destroyer' Byrnndi World, 'Strange Snake' and 'Black Eagle' among others. Some of these criminals had Devil Fruits..."
Sengoku continued, "While secretly plotting to kill dozens of captive prisoners without Magellan knowing, Shiryu stumbled upon a reborn Paramecia Devil Fruit—the Momo Momo no Mi!"
"If it weren't for Magellan's strong sense of justice and his firm character, I'd never believe anyone would go so far—killing so many prisoners just for a chance at a random Devil Fruit rebirth!"
Thinking about it sent chills down their spines.
"What!?"
Kong's pupils shrank, and his face turned pale.
He was trembling with fury, unable to believe it: "That bastard..."
"Ah~, I just returned from the capital of the Seven Waters, and I heard some truly unbelievable news..."
At the door, a tall, thin figure in a gray suit and Marine cloak appeared. He gently knocked on the door and spoke up.
Wearing a gray top hat and a crooked smile, his face looked older. He lazily hung around with a cigarette in his mouth.
It was Kizaru, the powerful Vice Admiral of the Marines, a candidate for Marine Admiral alongside Akainu and Aokiji.
"Borsalino, you're back so soon?"
Kong glanced at the newcomer and clenched his fist, his voice growing louder. "Have you still not caught those brats from the Charlotte family?"
"They're too elusive," Kizaru replied, spreading his hands in a helpless manner. "I personally went to the capital of the Seven Waters twice over the past two months, but every time, it was in vain. I didn't even catch a glimpse of their ship."
After the CP agents reported seeing Charlotte Wilhelm's group in the capital, Kong had recalled Kizaru from the New World. Meanwhile, Akainu had been reassigned to G-5 Fortress as the base chief.
Kizaru's two trips had ended in failure, leaving him feeling depressed.
"No one's problem-free—what troublesome brats!"
Kong frowned, his temper rising.
Now with Shiryu of the Rain defecting, it only added to his frustration.
"Marshal Kong, what should we do about Shiryu of the Rain?"
Sengoku asked helplessly. "Such an ambitious and ruthless villain will never stay quiet for long!"
"His brutal actions will cause a huge stir once word gets out. We can't let him go!" Kong said, his voice serious. "Immediately announce a bounty for Shiryu of the Rain. We need to track him down and capture him as soon as possible!"
"Tsk tsk, Shiryu of the Rain, what a terrifying guy..."
Kizaru twisted his mouth, curious. "So, what's his bounty?"
"Given his position as the chief warden of Impel Down, his Momo Momo no Mi ability, and his horrific crimes, though this is his first bounty, it's going to be high," Kong said, frowning. "We're setting it at 500 million Berries!"
