One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Sing or Die

After a few days of rest, Jack boarded the Mammoth and set out for Wano Country.

The massive crocodile carrying him was as intimidating as ever—at least in appearance. Unfortunately, it was still a creature that couldn't endure long treks. But for now, it was the best mount Jack could find, so he grudgingly used it to make his way toward Mount Atama.

Some of his crew wanted to follow him, but Jack stopped them. With his current strength, there was no need for help to deal with the Atama Thieves. Today was about a one-man slaughterfest, and he didn't want anyone stealing his thunder.

Shortly after Jack left, Kaido, in his dragon form, soared into the sky. Yamato sat atop his head, banging her kanabo against his horns while shouting, "Hurry up, old man! Fly faster!"

Behind her, Black Maria covered her mouth to stifle a laugh as she watched Yamato's antics.

"Yamato, there's no need to worry so much. Didn't Rim and the others say that big idiot elephant has gotten crazy strong now?"

"Even Red-Haired Shanks couldn't do anything to Jack. Kaido-sama, isn't Jack practically unstoppable these days?"

"Worororororo! That brat still has a long way to go!" Kaido laughed heartily. "But today, I'm curious to see if he's really as strong as Rim says!"

"Yamato, stop that!" Kaido finally snapped as Yamato kept whacking his horns. Slowly, his massive body ascended higher until they were fully concealed within the clouds.

"Hey, old man! Why are you flying so high? We can't see anything from here!"

"Idiot! Fly lower, you clumsy oaf!"

Clang! Clang!

"Yamato, cut it out!" Black Maria finally took the kanabo from Yamato, speaking in her usual soft tone. "If Kaido-sama shows up out in the open, those thieves will definitely run. We need to stay hidden."

"But if we can't see anything, how are we supposed to watch the fight?" Yamato asked, puzzled. "We're so high up that even my Observation Haki can't sense anything!"

"Hehehe..." Black Maria pointed at Kaido. "That's why Kaido-sama will have to narrate everything for us!"

"Narrate?" Yamato's eyes lit up. "Hey, old man! You better give us a proper play-by-play, just like how Jack tells his stories!"

"Worororororo! Leave it to me, daughter! I'll do better than Jack!"

"Stop laughing like that!" Yamato shouted, frowning. "Jack says your laugh sounds super weird!"

"...Hmph." Kaido immediately shut his mouth, looking both annoyed and sullen as he flew onward.

Years ago, Jack's storytelling had entertained Yamato so much that Kaido got wind of it. He ordered the stories to be transcribed and sold through publishers, which helped alleviate some of the Beast Pirates' financial troubles.

Of course, Kaido wasn't going to let Jack off the hook that easily. Under the guise of "mental endurance training," he forced Jack to narrate non-stop for seven days and nights. The ordeal nearly killed him.

Kaido silently made a mental note: Yamato hit my horns twenty-eight times today and called my laugh eunuch-like. Once this is over, I'll make Jack wear seastone cuffs and haul bricks as punishment.

Meanwhile, Jack was blissfully unaware of the group trailing him from above. His mind was focused solely on wreaking havoc on Shutenmaru.

Though his last fight against Shanks had been brutal, Jack had come away with two invaluable skills, making the pain worthwhile. But his encounter with Shutenmaru (Ashura Doji returned to being a criminal under the name Shutenmaru) had been nothing but a disaster—a pointless beating with nothing to show for it. Worse, Yamato and Black Maria had almost died that day.

And for the first time, Jack had tasted the bitter fear of death. As a pirate, he'd dealt death to countless others, but feeling it himself was something else entirely.

Shutenmaru… it's been over a year. Today, you'll learn what it means to never underestimate the rise of a "lowly youth!"

Reaching the foot of Mount Atama, Jack leapt off the crocodile. Gazing at the lush greenery and serene landscape, a cruel grin spread across his face.

"Heh… What a nice view. Blue skies, green mountains, clear waters…" Jack sneered, his tone dark. "Too bad it's all going to be destroyed soon."

The crocodile behind him froze in terror as Jack transformed into a towering, 20-meter-tall mammoth. Letting out an earth-shaking roar, he stomped forward, leaving cracked earth and splintered trees in his wake.

Above the clouds, Kaido sensed the transformation with his Observation Haki and murmured, "How did he get this big?"

Clang! Clang!

"What's big? What's big?" Yamato asked eagerly, banging Kaido's horns again.

Black Maria, equally curious, remained silent but leaned forward to listen. Kaido ignored the commotion, focusing on Jack's movements below.

"His size… it's enormous," Kaido muttered.

At the Atama Bandit Camp, most of the thieves were still fast asleep after a rowdy banquet the night before. Jack's thunderous roar jolted several of them awake.

"What's with the cow noises?" one groggily muttered.

"Sounds more like an elephant, doesn't it?"

"An elephant? In these parts?"

"Why is everything shaking?"

Shutenmaru groaned, rubbing his eyes as a panicked underling burst into the room.

"Boss! Something's coming—it's a massive elephant, charging straight for the mountain!"

"An elephant?" Shutenmaru instantly sobered up, leaping to his feet with surprising agility. Grabbing his weapon, he rushed outside, his men scrambling to follow.

Boom! Boom!

From halfway up the mountain, Shutenmaru, astride his blue ox, caught sight of Jack in his mammoth form. The colossal beast was rampaging, uprooting trees and flattening the once-thriving forest into a desolate wasteland.

"What the hell…?" Shutenmaru muttered, stunned by the sheer scale of the destruction.

Jack finally stopped, reverting to his hybrid form as he fixed his gaze on Shutenmaru.

"Long time no see, Shutenmaru," Jack said with a sinister grin.

Shutenmaru dismounted and walked forward, pretending to be unimpressed.

"It's only been a year, and you're already back to get yourself killed?"

Jack laughed, gripping one of his tusks as he pointed it at Shutenmaru.

"Didn't I tell you?" Jack roared. "I said I'd come back—and I promised to make you kneel and sing for me!"

"Today, Shutenmaru, if you don't sing, you die!"

A wave of Conqueror's Haki exploded from Jack, knocking several bandits unconscious. Shutenmaru turned, eyes wide as he saw his fallen men.

"Conqueror's Haki!" he growled, tightening his grip on his blade.
