One Piece: I'm Invincible

Chapter 17: Ideals

Zeff ignored Krieg and turned to leave.

"What do you mean?"

"If even those crew members regain their strength, this restaurant will be occupied by them!" The chefs looked at Zeff, confused.

"That depends on whether they still have the will to fight, right? Losers of the Grand Line." Zeff looked back at Krieg and said.

"Grand Line?" This was also the second time Luffy heard the name Grand Line. The first time was when Clover said it earlier.

Everyone was shocked. The overlord of the East Blue was a loser on the Grand Line.

However, Krieg was still lost in his own world, muttering: "Are you Red-Leg Zeff? So you're still alive, the unrivaled pirate who served as a chef-captain."

"It doesn't matter if I'm alive or not. As you can see, I'm just a cook now," Zeff replied.

Red-Leg Zeff and Krieg were both famous "big pirates" in the East Blue.

This also shows how weak the East Blue truly is. Being famous here only proves that it's the weakest sea, and that the people of the East Blue are nothing more than frogs in a well.

That being said, there are still notable figures from the East Blue, like Garp the Fist, Revolutionary Dragon, Pirate King Gol D. Roger, and the future Emperor, Monkey D. Luffy. Though few are famous, they are all dangerous individuals.

Krieg's expression slowly changed from horror to ridicule, then he laughed loudly: "Hahahaha! That sounds great, but it seems like you didn't choose to be a cook—you had no choice but to become one."

Krieg laughed as he glanced at Zeff's wooden leg.

Krieg then spoke about Red-Leg Zeff's former glory, mocking him further, before setting his sights on Zeff's logbook. Zeff was renowned in the East Blue as a pirate who survived the Grand Line.

"Hand it over!" Krieg shouted at Zeff, whose expression shifted at his demand.

"Eh? So, old man, you've been to the Grand Line too?" Luffy asked Zeff. Even Luffy, after listening for so long, understood that the Grand Line was a very dangerous sea.

"Yes," Zeff nodded. "I do have the logbook, but I can't give it to you." He looked at Krieg and said, "The logbook is the pride of all my crewmates who sailed with me. Handing it over to you would be a disgrace to their memories."

"Then I have no choice but to take it by force! I may have failed on the Grand Line, but I'm still the strongest man—Captain Krieg! I have the strength to conquer that dangerous sea, I have enough soldiers, and my ambitions are boundless.

The only thing I lacked was information.

That's why I need the logbook! I'll form a pirate fleet once again, seize the great treasure, and rise to the top in this Great Pirate Era!"

"That's enough nonsense," Clover remarked, glancing at Krieg while keeping an eye out for someone. "Why hasn't that guy, Mihawk, shown up yet?"

Krieg was a tough man. Even after being defeated by Mihawk, he still claimed he only lacked information.

"Wait for me!" Luffy stepped forward, pointing at Krieg. "I'm the one who's going to become the Pirate King!"

"Hey! Stand back, customer! You don't stand a chance against him!" Paddy shouted quickly upon seeing Luffy step forward.

"We can't back down, not here," Luffy responded immediately.

"Do you have something to say, brat? I can pretend I didn't hear you," Krieg said, looking down at Luffy, who was much shorter.

"Don't pretend you didn't hear me. I'm telling the truth," Luffy said.

"This isn't a joke," Krieg replied darkly.

"Of course, the Grand Line will be conquered by me."

"Don't look down on me, brat!" Krieg yelled. How dare this little guy challenge him?

"Without proper intelligence, the Grand Line is a deadly sea where even fleets of 5,000 men are destroyed within seven days! How do you expect to survive there? I hate liars the most. I'll kill you here and now."

"Only if you can," Luffy replied, raising his fist.

"If you insist, I'll grant your wish and send you to hell." After Krieg said that, the armor on his shoulders opened, revealing four cannons.

"Fight? Luffy, do you need our help?" At that moment, the sound of a sword being unsheathed was heard, and Zoro and Usopp came down from the second floor.

"I... I won't force you..." Usopp said, his legs trembling.

"Zoro, Usopp, you're here! No, just watch from there," Luffy replied, and Zoro sheathed his sword immediately after hearing this.

"Alright, alright. Since you said so, I'll leave it to you! But I'll step in if things get critical, got it?" Usopp said, though his voice trembled with false bravado.

Zoro couldn't take it anymore and elbowed Usopp to the ground.

"What are you doing, Zoro?!" Usopp shouted at him.

"Shut up," Zoro replied, annoyed.

"Hmph, hahahaha! Is that your crewmate? He's got no firepower," Krieg laughed.

"What are you talking about? There are three more of us!" Luffy said, holding up three fingers.

"Oi! Count me in!" Sanji shouted upon hearing that.

Krieg, who was about to open fire, glanced at Zeff.

He seemed to hesitate.

Maybe he still saw Zeff as a legendary pirate. Even with a lost leg, Zeff's strength was questionable, so Krieg decided to take care of his subordinates first.

After deciding, he closed the cannons on his shoulder.

"I'll deal with you later. First, I need to feed my men." After saying that, Krieg carried the food on his shoulders. Luffy didn't stop him. At that moment, Luffy figured Krieg cared for his crewmates, so he let him go.

"Those who still want to live should abandon this restaurant now. My only targets are the logbook and this ship. If anyone resists, I'll toss them into the sea. Remember that." After saying that, Krieg walked out the door with the food.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Sanji. I never thought it would come to this," Gin said, lying on the ground.

"There's no need for you to apologize. You're just a pawn in this," Zeff said to Gin after hearing that.
