Chapter 7: Chapter 7 : the beginning of the straw hat pirates
Marine Headquarters
In the vast office of Fleet Admiral Sengoku, the light streaming through the windows illuminated the piles of documents scattered across the desk. Sengoku sat with a focused expression, his brows furrowed as he read through a report. In contrast, Garp sat nonchalantly across from him, munching on biscuits with a carefree attitude, as if nothing was serious enough to concern him.
"Garp, are you sure you still want Luffy to join the Marines?" Sengoku asked, eyeing his old friend with a stern expression. "Your grandson doesn't exactly fit the profile... 'disciplined' is not the first word that comes to mind when I think of him."
Garp burst into laughter, sending crumbs flying. "Hah! Luffy? Yeah, he's a bit of a wild one. But hey, it runs in the family! He'll come around. He'll join the Marines and become great, just like me!"
Sengoku rolled his eyes. "Great? Really? Your grandson seems more inclined to become a pirate. I doubt he's cut out to follow orders."
"He's still young, Sengoku. He just needs time to realize that the red-haired fool's ideas are useless," Garp replied nonchalantly.
Sengoku opened his mouth to retort, but before he could say anything, the den den mushi on the desk rang loudly. The sound broke the relaxed atmosphere of the room, and Sengoku glanced at the device, surprised.
Before Sengoku could answer, Garp reached over, grabbing the den den mushi and holding it to his ear. "Yeah, who is it?" he grunted in his usual laid-back tone.
The den den mushi, now mimicking the features of Mayor Hoop Slap, responded with a nervous and trembling voice. "Vice-Admiral Garp? This is Mayor Hoop Slap from Fuchsia Village. I... I need to report a serious incident."
Instantly, Garp's expression darkened, and his demeanor grew more attentive. "What's going on in my village?"
"Well... A Marine officer came to the village with some soldiers. They tried to take control of the situation because there were strange creatures in the streets. But... the officer attempted to extort money from a young man in the village. And... and then he shot at Makino. The young man shielded Makino and took the bullet in the back."
Garp's fists clenched immediately, his jaw tightening as the room's atmosphere grew heavy. "He did what?!" Garp thundered, his voice filled with anger. "A mere Marine officer dared to shoot at Makino?!"
Sengoku, startled by Garp's sudden outburst, straightened in his chair, his eyes wide.
The mayor, on the other end of the line, gulped nervously before continuing. "Luffy... Luffy saw what happened and attacked the officer to protect her. The officer was hit, and then the strange creatures... they killed him. Afterward, he... he transformed into some sort of strange creature."
Garp slammed his fist onto Sengoku's desk, knocking over a pile of papers. "Those bastards! They dare to come to MY village, threaten my friends, and shoot at innocent people?! And they're surprised that Luffy reacted? He did what he had to! It's that damn officer who was in the wrong!"
Sengoku attempted to intervene. "Garp, calm down. This isn't the way to handle this. If Luffy attacked an officer, there will be consequences—you know that."
But Garp, consumed with rage, wasn't listening anymore. "Shooting at Makino... They don't know who they're messing with!" He turned his attention back to the den den mushi. "Mayor, don't worry. I'll handle this personally. You don't need to be concerned any longer. I'm on my way."
"Thank you, Vice-Admiral. I knew you'd understand. I've already contacted local authorities to try and mitigate the fallout, but I believe only you can prevent this from escalating," the mayor said, sounding relieved before hanging up.
Garp slammed the den den mushi down, turning to face Sengoku, who now looked far more serious.
"I'm going to handle this. No one—AND I MEAN NO ONE—comes into my village and shoots at my people without facing the consequences. I made sure my village was listed as protected as long as I'm alive, Sengoku!"
Sengoku frowned, his face growing darker. "Garp, you need to understand there will be repercussions. You can't just storm in there and act like nothing happened."
Garp strode toward the door, barely acknowledging Sengoku's warnings. "He was just protecting his people. If the Marines are sending scum like that officer to my village, then I'll clean up the mess myself!"
Sengoku stood from his chair, making one last attempt to reason with his old friend. "Garp! You're going to make things worse. If Luffy continues down this path, he'll never be able to join the Marines like you want. You know full well he might follow in Shanks' footsteps."
Garp paused, one hand on the door. "Sengoku, I love the Marines, but there are limits. No one touches my loved ones. I'm going there to settle this. If anyone has to face the consequences, it'll be me."
Sengoku let out a deep sigh, sitting back down in his chair, looking more worried than ever. "Be careful, Garp. This situation could go much further than you think."
Sengoku picked up the den den mushi on the table and called Hoop Slap. "Mr. Mayor, I'd like to know more about these strange creatures," he asked, curious, knowing that reasoning with Garp was futile.
East Blue, Excalibur's Deck
As we boarded the red and black boat that I had decided to name Excalibur, Luffy settled at the front, gazing at the horizon with a wide grin. The wind began to blow gently, slightly inflating the sails. I could feel the excitement building inside me as we prepared to leave Fuchsia and set out on our adventure.
Luffy suddenly turned to me, a curious smile on his face. "Jordan, why did you name the boat Excalibur?" he asked, tilting his head to the side, intrigued.
I smiled back, glancing at the mast for a moment before answering. "Let's just say it's a tribute to a friend," I replied, thoughtful. I was thinking of those who had shared their destiny with me. Three children, who had gone on radically different paths. Their memory would now accompany me on this new journey. It was my way of not forgetting.
"A friend, huh? He must have been cool!" Luffy said, laughing, his gaze already lost in the vastness of the sea. I chuckled softly. Luffy had this simple way of looking at things, and it was refreshing.
The wind picked up, gently pushing us offshore. As we left the shores of Fuchsia, I felt a strange sensation wash over my mind. A message, as if engraved in my subconscious, appeared before my eyes:

I froze for a moment, stunned by what I had just seen. Additional abilities... dungeons? This was beyond anything I had thought possible. My starter gift wasn't a limit—my growth could continue, and the possibilities seemed endless.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't immediately notice the sea swelling around us. It wasn't until the water began bubbling and swirling that I looked up, just in time to see a massive figure rising from the depths.
The Lord of the Coast, a monstrous eel thirty meters long, burst from the ocean with a powerful roar, its jaws wide open, ready to engulf us in a single bite.
I instinctively moved into a combat stance, ready to react, but Luffy, still sitting at the front of the boat, burst into laughter. "Ah, it's been a while, you!" he shouted, standing up with a grin on his face.
He pulled back his fist, stretching it in a smooth motion, his arm extending like elastic. "Gum-Gum Pistol!" he yelled, launching his fist with devastating force.
Luffy's fist slammed into the Lord of the Coast's head, the impact producing a dull thud. The massive creature was knocked backward, crashing into the ocean with a thunderous splash, completely knocked out in a single blow.
I stood there, stunned for a moment, before breaking into laughter. "You're really not afraid of anything, are you?"
Luffy looked back at me, grinning widely. "As long as I can eat, nothing stops me!"
I shook my head, amused by his response. "Alright, Luffy. Now that we're at sea, I've got an idea."
"Hmm?" Luffy turned to me, still curious.
"We're going to explore East Blue," I said, standing tall, my eyes fixed on the horizon. "We don't know where the adventure will take us, but one thing's for sure: we'll need companions. If we want to become strong and reach our dreams, we're going to need a crew worthy of the name."
I waited for the Lord of the Coast to sink slightly beneath the water before diving discreetly, making sure to stay out of sight of everyone, including Luffy. Under the surface, the enormous creature floated, motionless. I quickly approached and plunged my Keyblade into its body, immediately feeling the dark energy manifest. In an instant, aquatic Sans-cœur appeared: a massive Aquatank and three agile Torpilotes.
I didn't hesitate to send them back into my shadow before storing the body of the Lord of the Coast in my inventory. Satisfied, I quickly resurfaced, a smile on my face.
"Tonight, we'll have a feast," I said, bursting into laughter as I climbed back aboard.
Luffy, sitting at the front of the boat, turned his head toward me with a huge grin. "A feast? Awesome!" he exclaimed, excited by the idea of filling his stomach.
I took the helm and calmly steered Excalibur toward a portal of darkness I had opened just ahead of us. In a matter of moments, we crossed through the portal and arrived on the unnamed island I had already conquered. Creatures patrolled peacefully, their blue eyes faintly glowing in the fading light.
"Whoa! How did you do that?!" Luffy asked, bouncing around the deck, his eyes wide as he observed the island and its strange inhabitants.
I smiled, amused by his reaction. "It's just one of my abilities," I replied with a shrug, as I pulled out cooking utensils and released the massive body of the Lord of the Coast from my inventory.
"Hey, Luffy," I said while preparing the meat, "could you explore a bit and bring back some fruits and veggies? We're going to need some sides for this feast."
Luffy, still excited at the thought of eating, stood up. "No problem! I got this!" he shouted before disappearing into the forest, his laughter echoing behind him.
I couldn't help but smile as I watched him go. Luffy had that childlike energy that made everything feel lighter. Easygoing, always enthusiastic… It was going to be a joy traveling with him.
The Lord of the Coast was quickly transformed into cuts of meat, and I lit a large fire as I started preparing the midday meal.
Luffy returned with a ton of wild fruits and vegetables, most of which I stored before finishing up the meal preparation. It was basic but edible.
(Nda: From this chapter onward, I'll be adding the term inventory along with malle to keep things consistent. I hope you're enjoying this type of story ^^)
