Chapter 49: Chapter 47

Seeing the man approaching, Bill felt like not only his body but the whole world had slowed down, yet nothing helped him move.

When the big man swung...

BOOM

An explosion, coming from somewhere, struck the gorilla in the back, and its eyes rolled up. Bill immediately realized it was Fia, and felt a mixture of joy and worry.

He couldn't escape from Foxy, and now he thought Fia would also be captured.

With this thought, he began desperately scanning the rocks, hoping to find her before the pirates did, and tell her to run.

Looking up, Bill saw something familiar... not Fia, but...?

Bill: "ITOGIMIZU! CHUNCHUN!"

Seeing salvation, Bill understood he was safe. In front of him was that strange man with a head who rode the Super Sparrow, whom Miss Angie had introduced to his preschool class. He knew this man was friendly because if it weren't so, they wouldn't have met.

Making a strange noise: WAFFU???, the man with the unusual head shouted, "Kid?! Boss?!"

In his current state, Bill wasn't fully aware of everything, but when the man landed on Chunchun, he shouted, "ITOGIMIZU! TAKE SASHA AND RANCE AND RUN!"

Fyueh-fyueh-fyueh!

Foxy: "Did you hear that, guys?! This kid thinks Itogimizu is here to save him!"

Fyueh-fyueh-fyueh!

Grinning, Foxy continued, "This child doesn't even understand that with Itogimizu, he's completely lost the chance to escape!"

As soon as Foxy said this, his expression changed, and he added maliciously, "And we will find the one who struck our sweet Hamburg!"

Hearing these words, Bill nearly collapsed to the ground. He was exhausted, depleted, and now bald. The betrayal of Itogimizu shattered his hopes.

With these thoughts, Bill might have given up if he were alone.

But he wasn't alone. As soon as he stopped being slowed down, Bill approached Sasha, who had already halted her fight.

Just before Bill wanted to curse the man with the strange head, the man suddenly spoke, "Boss! We need to run! "Do you know who these kids are?!"

Fyueh-fyueh-fyueh! Foxy: "Of course, I know who these kids are! They're going to be part of our crew!"

Stunned and frightened, Itogimizu shook his head furiously, "No, boss! That's the son of Aramaki the Bull! The whole town knows these kids are missing, and the Marines are turning everything upside down searching for them! It's only a matter of time before..."

BOOM! Hearing the explosion from the sawmill, everyone except Foxy began to panic.

Glancing at the three children, Foxy, now truly angry, yelled, "You tricked us again! You freaks!"

As he ran past the children towards the barge, he continued, "Kid! I better never see you at sea again! You play dirty? Well, I can be even dirtier!"As everyone began to disperse, Bill looked at Itogimizu with disgust and said, "So you're a pirate. Does Chunchun even understand what you're making him do?"

Waving his arms and shaking his head nervously, Itogimizu replied, "Kid! Being a pirate means being free! Don't you understand that the whole world is pressing down on us, and only pirates can be free? I'm sorry it turned out this way! Really sorry! But it seems the Marines will be here soon, and I have to run!"

Sitting down on the ground next to Rance, while Sasha barely stood on her feet, Bill calmly said to the strange man, "You've chosen to be a criminal and a thief. You think the world is pressing down on you? Well, now you've chosen to press back on it."

Lowering his head, Bill added, "Itogimizu, don't show up in front of me again, because when I grow up, no pirate at Foxy's level will be able to stand against me."

Itogimizu looked at Bill for a long time before quietly flying away.

Bill didn't know what the man was thinking, but soon the Marines flooded into Smugglers' Cove.

He heard the loud shouts of the Marines and another loud "boom". Turning to the right, he saw the source of the noise.

Out of a cloud of dust emerged a huge man. Standing three meters tall, with dark hair and disheveled clothes, Bill watched as his father approached the trio.

With his long strides, it didn't take the Commodore much time to reach them. Instead of trying to meet his eyes, Bill avoided looking at his father and continued staring straight ahead—unaware of what the other two were doing.

"Stand up."

In a tone that brooked no questions, Bill slowly got up from one side while Sasha helped Rance stand from the other.

Once he was on his feet, his father began to inspect his arms, legs, and torso, then moved his hands to Bill's bald head and the scar above his left eye.

After this, the Commodore examined Rance's legs and seemed satisfied, then shouted:

"Midshipman Ponte!"

A mustached sailor came running at his call and saluted, saying, "Your orders, Commodore!"

Without glancing at him, focusing on Bill, the Commodore said, "Take the girl and the curly-haired boy home. Tomorrow all errand boys must clean the decks of every ship in the port."

Having said this, Aramaki glanced at the midshipman.

"They must not sleep until the work is done. Understood?Hearing this, Bill tried to protest: "Wait, this is..."
