Chapter 48: Chapter 46
Chapter 46
At that moment, amid the shouts of the crowd, people began to yell things like "What ruffians!" and "Teach them a lesson, boss!"
Foxy: "No more games now! Clear the area! Porche, Capote, and... HAMBURG! Go and catch those runts!"
*Pupupupupu!**Guhguhguhgu!*Hehehehehe! As the crowd stepped back, three stepped forward.
Looking at these three, Bill shouted to Foxy: "Empty barrels make the most noise; did you know that? You'll regret this!"
When Foxy shouted back, "Yeah, sure, kid," Bill said to the others: "Sasha, take care of the girl with blue hair. Rance, handle the Fishman—don't let him hit you!"
Bill, moving forward, said one last time: "Sasha, if you defeat her, immediately help Rance. I'll handle the big one."
The area at the smuggler's dock was large, but not so vast as to take long to cross.
Taking their positions, the three children prepared for battle: Bill stood in the center in front of the man who resembled a gorilla, Sasha on the right, and Rance on the left.
Assessing his opponent, Bill noted that this man was twice his height and many times wider. He had long arms, and Bill immediately noticed his obvious weakness—"those scrawny legs."
Step by step, Bill let his hair down to his back.
Pupupupupupu! Hamburg: "Now he has girl hair."
Ignoring this, Bill charged into the attack, feinting with a kick.
Jumping back when the big man responded, Bill continued to keep his gaze high with a series of leaps and acrobatic tricks.
He heard the heavy blows and groans from the sides, but in his opinion, this "gorilla" was much stronger than the overwhelmed Fishman or the girl with blue hair. He knew he had to finish the fight quickly and couldn't afford any distractions.
After several minutes of fighting, Bill was still fresh, but a keen eye could notice he looked slimmer than before.
As the fight continued, Bill moved faster and faster, but never showed his full speed.
By delaying the big movements of his opponent, Bill set up a trap he was ready to execute.
When at last the large "gorilla" shouted, "GORILLA GRAB!" and overextended his arms, Bill quickly ducked low to the ground.
Running under the "gorilla's" arm, Bill used his hair to entangle the opponent's scrawny legs. With one swift motion, as the "gorilla" fell forward, Bill cut his hair, performed a backflip, and shouted:
"GIANT STOMP!"
As Bill's foot slammed into Hamburg's face, embedding it into the stone, he wasted no time listening to the screams of Foxy and his pirates and dashed toward the last place he heard the groans.
Sprinting at full speed, Bill inadvertently chose the direction where Rance was fighting Capote. Seeing Rance lying on the ground, looking up while Capote said, "Not so fast now, huh? Let's see how you feel when I break your legs!"
Before Capote could strike, Bill was there, shouting, "FIVE-PUNCH COMBO!"
Catching Capote by surprise, Bill quickly hit him with a left punch, followed by a combination of right and left blows. Grabbing the Fishman's shoulder, Bill delivered a powerful headbutt to his chin and then finished the attack with an elbow to the side of the head.
As Capote fell, Bill felt blood streaming from his forehead. Despite being dazed, he extended his hand to Rance and yelled, "Come on!"
Grasping Bill's hand firmly, Rance quickly got to his feet, and together they ran towards Sasha.
Bill was no longer as fast as he had been, but he remained focused on the battle before him and on trying to close the wound above his left eye.
Had he been in his right mind, he would have been surprised at how well Sasha was holding her own against the older girl. Although Sasha was already out of breath, she continued to defend using the stances of the Bull and the Plow, while the two boys, stumbling, approached.
Bill did not check the condition of the men he had struck. Now his mind was focused on one thing: he needed to take someone down to make the fight three against two.
And then he would find a way to win.
Rance, for his part, showed cleverness: while Bill was heading straight for the girl with blue hair, Rance ran to circle around from behind.
When the girl was almost within reach, Bill picked up speed, and then the world slowed down again.
Bill: "!"
He wanted to look around, wanted to do something, anything, but Bill was once more trapped in the "slow photons" just as he felt he was close to victory.
Fyueh-fyueh-fyueh! Foxy: "Using hair in battle is outright cheating! So this levels the playing field! But if you win, you can leave!"
Fyueh-fyueh-fyueh! To Bill's horror, as Foxy laughed and said this, the man resembling a gorilla appeared before him, holding a massive metal club.
Also bleeding from his head, this big man looked at Bill and said, "I suppose this will teach you well."
Pupupupupupu! Laughing like a madman, the gorilla swung the club experimentally a few times, like a baseball player getting ready to hit, and headed straight for Bill.
