Chapter 167: Omniscience in Marvel 161: Reveal and Birthright 1

161: Reveal and Birthright 1

"Darling?" Thena called as she pushed open the doors to Lucas' study and poked her head in. "You busy?"

Now that was rhetorical question.

Having known his wife for Millennia, Leucadius knew that since whatever she wanted to talk about was urgent enough for her not to exercise a bit of patience, there was no way replying with a Yes would be helpful.

"What's bothering you." Lucas said and put down his pen before pushing the files he was working on to the side. "Did Tony bring Aethon out of the mansion?"

Thena rolled her eyes as she walked into the office and sat down opposite him before she replied. "Like you wouldn't know if he did."

"I have no idea what you are talking about?" Lucas said with a straight face that caused Thena to chuckle. "So? What brings you here?"

"What? I can't visit your study, should I wish to?"

"C'mon. You know that's not what I mean." Lucas deflated and relaxed into his chair.

"Whatever." Thena said, her smile disappearing as she asked. "You sure keeping him in the dark all these years was okay?"

"C'mon. Let's not talk about this now." Lucas sighed. "Everything will be alright. He'll learn all he will need to learn from those capable of teaching him."

"He's a God. He's going to awaken his cosmic energy sooner or later. You've already sealed his Aether-"

"Repurposed."

"What?"

"I didn't seal it, but repurposed it."

"Giving his energy Sentience with ASPECT's source code isn't actually… REPURPOSING the way I see it."

"Hah. Just trust me on this one dear. Nothing dangerous will befall your jewel." Lucas said reassuringly and changed the topic. "How are your preparation for Arishem's return?"

Thena spread her hands and shrugged. "What preparation can be made that hasn't been made already? Unlike my brothers and sisters I know our true purpose here. Luckily I have you."

"Eh? You think I'd be able to save you from the big bad?"

"You won't?"

"Wha- of course I will, but-"

"Then I have no reason to worry." Thena said and stood up. "With you and Aethon, I only need to live this life, one day at a time." saying that, she turned and began walking out of the study. "Aethon will awaken on his 12th birthday which is a few months away. If proper care isn't taken, the entire galaxy will notice his awakening."

Stopping at the door, Thena voiced her earlier worry causing Lucas to smile wryly but keep silent as she left afterwards.

"He's my son too y'know." Lucas mumbled to himself before returning to his work.

Thena's worry, while understandable, was unnecessary since he had already predicted all possible scenarios and formulated a plan.

'She's right, though,' he thought, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. 'Our little Aethon is no ordinary child.'

As much as Lucas had prepared—repurposing his son's abundant Aether to create The Almighty inorder to provide a period of normal childhood without being overwhelmed by the amount of information he would have been made privy to—he knew that even those precautions might only buy time.

Aethon's true nature, his birthright, would break through eventually, and the awakening would be seismic.

It'll be no less than the scene created by the birth of Yeshua in Bethlehem all those years ago, and if care wasn't taken, it could even be more.

Leaning back, Lucas drummed his fingers on the desk, glancing at a holographic screen nearby displaying simulations he'd been running.

Each one showed various scenarios of Aethon's power emerging and the subtle cosmic ripples it would send across realms.

Some of the data suggested they'd be able to mask the energy; other projections showed catastrophic outcomes, depending on the exact circumstances on Earth.

He knew that, as Aethon grew, it would be impossible to shield him completely from who and what he was meant to become.

His son would have to face his cosmic heritage, just as Lucifer and Yeshua had faced theirs before him—only this time, Lucas would ensure Aethon had every advantage and preparation possible.

He would make certain of that.

With a renewed focus, Lucas turned back to his work.

(A/N: Incase you're wondering if he's showing Favouritism…Yeah, he is. Tee-hee.)

A few months later, The morning air was crisp as Lucas and Aethon stepped out of the mansion, Lucas dressed in sleek black three-piece suit that contrasted sharply with the soft mist lingering over the estate grounds and Thena wore a fitted white blouse tucked into high-waisted beige trousers while tan overcoat draped over her shoulders, adding a touch of effortless sophistication.

Her golden hair was pulled back into a sleek low ponytail, emphasizing her sharp, striking features. She looked every bit the warrior disguised as a refined aristocrat, commanding yet effortlessly graceful.

Aethon glanced up at his father, adjusting his cufflinks as he mirrored Lucas's composed stride, the subtle hint of pride flickering in his young eyes.

Outside, a vehicle waited, a peculiar creation with a sleek, angular design, sharp edges tapering toward the back.

The vehicle's doors lifted up like the wings of some mechanical bird, revealing an interior outfitted with dark leather and a control panel that seemed more suited to a spacecraft than a car.

"Did Tony design this one?" Aethon asked, unable to keep the curiosity from his tone as they approached.

Lucas smirked, hands tucked into his pockets as he eyed the vehicle with a mix of admiration and humor. "He had his hands on the blueprint, but the finishing touches… let's just say I added a few personal enhancements."

It was impossible for Tony to have made this car as specified by the Blueprint Lucas had provided him.

Lucas' humour came from remembering the haggard and helpless look on the young man's face as he brought the finished product which, in Lucas' eye, was just a tad bit different from thr cars of tje coming century.

Aethon's eyes lit up. "Personal enhancements?" he echoed, his excitement barely contained as they came to a stop before the open doors. "Like what?"

Lucas chuckled, guiding Aethon toward the passenger side. "Let's just say it's not entirely bound by… conventional methods of transportation," he said, a cryptic glint in his eye. "We might bend a few rules on physics. Just keep it between us."

Aethon's grin widened, his hand brushing over the cool metal of the vehicle as he settled into the passenger seat. "I can keep a secret, Dad," he replied, leaning back as Lucas joined him, the doors closing with a soft hiss.

As Lucas and Aethon settled into the vehicle, the doors closing with a soft hiss, Thena stood outside, arms crossed, watching them with an arched brow.

Her sharp eyes missed nothing, the slight hum of the vehicle, the unnatural smoothness of its movement, the way Lucas handled the console like he was communing with something beyond just technology.

She exhaled through her nose, stepping forward. "You two are enjoying yourselves, I see," she remarked dryly, tapping her fingers against the car's sleek exterior. "I assume this one's not just another 'enhanced' automobile?"

Lucas smirked, fingers still hovering over the holographic interface. "Come now, Thena, would I ever settle for just 'enhanced'?" He gestured for her to join them.

Thena hesitated for a moment before sighing and slipping into the backseat with the grace of a queen boarding a chariot. "If this thing launches into the stratosphere, I'm walking home."

Aethon chuckled. "No promises."

Lucas glanced at her in the rearview mirror, his smirk widening. "Hold on tight."

The vehicle lurched forward, not with the jolt of an engine, but with an eerily smooth acceleration, almost like it was slicing through space itself. The air around them seemed to ripple, and for the briefest second, Thena could swear she felt the faintest pull of something unnatural.

She narrowed her eyes at Lucas. "What exactly did you do to this thing?"

Lucas only chuckled, tapping the mysterious symbols on the console once more. "Nothing you wouldn't approve of, dear."

Thena leaned back, arms crossed, but there was no mistaking the small glint of intrigue in her eyes.

With a subtle touch, Lucas tapped into the controls, and the vehicle glided forward almost effortlessly, hovering slightly above the ground.

Lucas then reached over to the dashboard, brushing his fingers across an unmarked part of the console.

The surface responded to his touch, revealing a hidden panel that displayed a holographic interface only he could access.

With a smooth, practiced motion, Lucas tapped a sequence of icons that looked almost like ancient symbols, rather than the typical buttons of a standard interface.

The air around the vehicle shimmered, bending light in a way that rendered it invisible to both the naked eye and most forms of tracking technology.

The cloaking mechanism didn't just make the vehicle vanish; it altered the way sound waves bounced off it, making it eerily silent, as if it had become a ghost on the road.

Turning to Aethon, who watched in fascination, Lucas smirked. "This little feature comes in handy when you need to go… unseen," he said with a wink. "Just remember, though, it's not a toy."

Aethon nodded, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Noted. But maybe you'll let me try it... one day?"

Lucas chuckled, keeping his eyes on the road. "Maybe. Someday."

As they sped down the driveway, trees blurring by, Aethon glanced out the window before turning back to Lucas. "So where exactly are we headed?"

Lucas shot him a sidelong glance, the faintest hint of mischief in his expression. "Let's just say… it's a bit of a surprise. But I promise, it'll be worth the wait."

Aethon leaned back in his seat, eyes alight with anticipation. "So? What's the secret Mum said you'd let me in on during this trip?"

Thena, seated in the back with her arms crossed, smirked. "I only said he'd tell you. Didn't say when."

Lucas groaned, shaking his head. "And here I thought I'd have the pleasure of revealing it on my own terms."

Aethon gave him a pointed look. "C'mon. You both have been acting mysteriously these past few days. Isn't it about time you let me in on it?"

Lucas hummed, as if considering, then asked, "First off, do you remember what you were taught regarding the Cosmos?"

Aethon scoffed. "Like I'd ever forget." He mimicked his father, looking coolly into the distance as though he were pondering something profound. "The Cosmos is a Ball we all live in, guided by a set of rules made privy to a select few through the unique energy known as Cosmic Energy."

Lucas nodded. "And what is Cosmic Energy?"

"It is a form of energy that exists through the Cosmos," Aethon answered. "And the source from which all other energies are formed."

Thena, watching the exchange, rested her chin on her hand. "You've drilled this into him well."

Lucas chuckled. "Of course. He's my son." Then, after a brief pause, he added, "Which brings me to something else. You've always asked why you were named Theogon, right?"

Aethon's demeanor shifted, sensing the weight in his father's words. He nodded seriously.

Lucas smiled. "Because you are exactly what it means."

"Huh?"

"Generally, it means 'Birth of Gods.' But personally…" Lucas raised his right hand and pointed his index finger at Aethon. "Son of God."

Silence settled in the vehicle as Lucas let the words sink in.

Aethon blinked, his mind racing. "…You mean," he began, his voice cracking slightly, "I'm not you and Mum's son?"

Thena let out a sharp exhale, eyes narrowing. "Excuse me?"

Lucas, momentarily dumbfounded, facepalmed. "What led you to that conclusion?"

"You just said my name means 'Son of God.' And with how you and Mum have been acting all mysteriously, my real parents must have asked you to do something around this period, right? That's why we're taking this trip." Aethon's voice grew steadier as though he had already made peace with his new reality.

Thena pinched the bridge of her nose. "Aethon."

Lucas turned to look at his son, disbelief written all over his face. "What…the actual fuck are you on about?"

Aethon straightened in his seat, nodding solemnly. "For as long as I live, you and Mum will always remain my father and mother."

Lucas let out a slow breath, rubbing his temples. "It's my fault for not explaining it properly."

Thena, arms still crossed, sighed dramatically. "That's what you get for being cryptic, Lucas."

Lucas let out a dry chuckle. It took an enormous amount of willpower from Lucas not to smack the shit out of his son. "I assure you, Aethon, you have one father and one mother on Earth. And they are both sitting in this vehicle."

Aethon hesitated, glancing between them, then exhaled in relief. "Oh. Well… good."

Thena rolled her eyes. "We should've left him at home."

Lucas smirked. "Too late now."
