NOVEL NEXT Chapter 65: Lightning Boost
Theoretically, the lightning cloak was an easy jutsu to perform as it followed the same concept of coating a weapon with chakra. Unfortunately, this was not practically as easy as it sounded as there were a lot of requirements to be able to pull it off without harming oneself.
First and the most obvious one was the body. If a person's body wasn't strong enough to endure the lightning chakra passing through the body, then the only outcome was self shock.
Kira fulfilled this requirement, but then came the other two which were the chakra control and pain tolerance. Chakra control wasn't any problem to him, and he was confident with pain tolerance too at this point.
Once saw how the chakra moved in the third Raikage's hand, he imitated the same and smirked when he saw a coat of lighting on his arm, dancing violently.
"Hmm... interesting. I suddenly got an idea so I'm gonna leave." he declared and looked up at A, who had an expression of pure shock.
"Give me your hands, I want to give you a present for this." Kira said and saw the fully grown adult give him his hands expectantly.
He silently placed his palms on A's hands and sent out his chakra, forming a thin layer of wood that coated his hands. Along with that, a pair of thick bracelets were also formed. This was the same with his legs and once he was done, he gave A a satisfied nod before explaining.
"This thing will work as a chakra battery for you. You're currently like a mini version of a jinchuriki and have a lot of chakra to use." Kira said as he took a few steps back and lifted his hand to his face level before snapping his fingers.
All of his clones instantly vanished along with him, leaving A alone in the crowd.
Kira appeared in his small room that was inside the tree root and sat silently as he recalled the way lightning cloak worked. The reaction speed and physical speed increase was something that only the lighting attribute could do, but the defensive cloak that was released outside the body could be replaced.
This would require an extremely high level of chakra control and Kira didn't lack that in any sense.
'I could replace lightning with something else, but which would work best?' he asked himself as he thought about every element one by one.
'Fire can work, but it's not exactly defensive. It might burn people who come in contact with it, but I'd rather use fire ball jutsu for that.
Water cloak, I already have and it's really effective against physical attacks but there's a huge limit to it's defensive capabilities. It can handle low level jutsu's pretty well, but is absolute trash when it comes to jutsu's with strong fire power or have concentrated attacks like the chidori.
Wind... mostly relates to sharpness so I don't think it'll help me with defence.
Earth would have worked great when it comes to defence, but it'll restrict my movement due to the stiffness.
Lightning... well... it's the same as raikage's so it'll work pretty amazing.
But what about wood release or pure chakra? I could literally make a mini susano using the same concept and since pure chakra has no "weaknesses" like the other elements, it can work as a perfect defense.
As for wood release, it has the ability to supress chakra... but not too useful as a defensive measure as wood is pretty fragile in small quantities. Though, if I made a huge wood golem, things would be different but that'll work as offence and not defence as I'll be standing on the golem to control it and wouldn't be able to go inside. After all, who would be able to see through wood?'
Once he was done sorting through his thoughts, he silently used pure chakra to coat his hands. A thin layer formed and unlike lighting cloak, this wasn't violent and shaky. Instead, it was slightly smoky instead, like some kind of vapour was slowly going up from the chakra layer.
Kira saw this and compressed the chakra layer as he added more and more chakra, seeing it take on a solid shape. He didn't stop and continued inserting more and more chakra until he couldn't anymore.
At this point, it really did look like a mini susanoo but it had a blue hue to it, like a rasengan. Unfortunately, as soon as he shifted his attention away from his chakra armor, the chakra began to leak out at an extremely fast rate.
Seeing this phenomenon, he only had one thing in his mind, 'Physics actually exists here? Damn.'
After a few more tries, he found out that the more chakra he used and compressed to make the armor, the faster the chakra would leak out due to the pressure in the layer of armor. Unless he always kept a part of his attention on the chakra armor and kept it compressed, then it would be almost useless in actual fights.
'For now, I've gotten a hang of the internal part of the lightning release. I can develop the chakra cloak and make some modifications in the future, but for now... let's just wait.'
Once he made up his mind, he focused on increasing his proficiency with the internal lightning cloak, which he also planned on changing the name as he couldn't always call it "Internal lighting cloak."
"Hmm... lighting boost should work. There's no need to think too much about it." he muttered as he began to practice.
He got out of the cabin and began to run around in the forest with the new boost. He not only got a boost to his reaction speed and physical speed, but also his cognitive capabilities. The speed at which he could think and process information had drastically improved, which would synergise extremely well with the information he could collect using dynamic vision.
