Chapter 46: Traitor of Aburame
"It'll be better if you leave early." Shibi said, but Kakeru placed a hand on his shoulder before walking towards the kid whom he considered his own grandson.
"If you're done taking your items, let's go. I found a house for us to live together."
"Huh?" Kira asked, blinking twice before staring at the old man in front of him.
"What? They disowned you but there are no rules stopping me from moving out, you know? Heck, almost half of our clan members live outside the aburame compound, so I don't really understand why you're so surprised about it. Anyways, are you coming or not?"
Hearing his words, Kira nodded multiple times before hugging Kakeru tightly. As for why he did it, no one would have have to know.
Unfortunately, his secret was found out the moment he hugged the old man.
"Heh, did I just see tears?"
"Grandpa, you're growing too old and looks like you're eyes are degrading." Kira replied as he rubbed his face on Kakeru's clothes, wiping off the few tears that were produced without his will.
Shibi sighed and shook his head, "This was not what I expected, elder Kakeru. Are you really moving out?"
Kakeru turned his head sideways and said, "Yeah, and I'm getting too old for this so it'll be better for me to retire. Take care of the clan well, Shibi."
"I will, uncle Kakeru. I will."
"That's good then." Kakeru said and patted Kira's head, "Are you done wiping your tears? It'll be better if we leave soon."
"Tch." Kira clicked his tongue and pulled away from Kakeru before walking towards the exit, "Let's go."
The two of them walked out and after a few minutes of silence, Kira looked up at him, "You didn't really have a house ready, did you?"
Kakeru coughed awkwardly, "Well, I have enough money saved up but until we find a good house, we should probably rent one instead."
Kira nodded, but he had other questions that he wanted answers for, "Grandpa, how did this happen?"
"Sigh... well, the first thing was the fact that you worked with someone else to achieve your bug mutations. To them, this is nothing but leaking our clan's secrets.
Second point is that you went to meet the hokage after you were done with your experiments instead of coming here and right after that, you disappeared for almost half a year. You tell me, if you were in their place, wouldn't you feel displeased?" Kakeru asked as he glanced at Kira.
"Honestly, there are a few differences to this and what actually happened, but yeah, I'd be displeased. But I still wouldn't just disown a literal once in a hundred years genius, you know? Are they mad?" Kira asked with a frustrated tone.
"Hahahahahahaha oh god, you're a narcissist aren't you?"
Kira shook his head, "Nah, I'm just stating facts. I'm someone who managed to learn the flying raijin, created my own jutsu and as for the five months of absence you talked about? I was outside the village, searching for Lady Tsunade and guess what? She taught me her hidden technique and I easily learned it too.
If I was a clan leader, there is no way that I'd ever disown someone who has the same talent as me. It just doesn't make sense to me."
"Well, let's go grab something to eat and I'll tell you where you're wrong." Kakeru said as he pointed at a hot pot restaurant.
Seeing that Kira didn't reject the idea, he headed inside and ordered a bunch of meat before finding a nice place to sit at.
"So, you're saying you're a genius." Kakeru said before continuing, "Well, you are a genius but you're from the Aburame clan, a clan that places a lot of importance on bugs. The ninjutsu that you know doesn't matter to them. The only thing in their minds is that you were only compatible with Kikaichi, the most basic bug in our clan.
There's another thing that you didn't consider. Did they really know that you created a jutsu of your own and learned two S rank jutsu? The answer to that is a resounding no. Well, some people knew about the flying raijin, but when fifty percent of the clan is adamant on kicking you out, do you think their thoughts would matter?
This is exactly what happened a month ago actually. I told them that you knew the flying raijin, but they simply laughed at me and told me not to spout nonsensical reasons to keep my grandson in the clan.
As for Princess Tsunade's Hundred healing's jutsu, even I didn't know about it until you told me a minute ago."
Kira silently stared at the table in front of him as he finally understood what had happened.
When almost 50% of the population strongly rallied against something from the start, then from the remaining 50% of the neutral population, at least half of them would go to their side. Making the odds 3 to 1.

A few hours later:
Kira stood in front of a familiar looking house and turned to look at his grandpa, "So... at the end of the day, we won't be living together."
"Hey, that's not in my hands. I didn't expect lord hokage to give me a simple mission such as this while telling you to fight in the war... But now that we're talking about war, do whatever you want, but always prioritise your own safety."
"I will." Kira replied as he knocked on the door and just as he had expected a red haired woman opened the door.
