Night of the Apocalypse

Chapter 15 - Tang Kexin

Shen Qiu walked a bit further before stopping to look ahead, quickly spotting the cordoned-off entrance.

The entrance to the entire filming site was packed with a crowd of people. Security guards were trying their best to maintain order, shouting at the top of their lungs.

“Everyone, please step aside! Don’t block the entrance!”

Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain, as the fans were extremely excited and paid no attention, causing a complete blockage at the entrance.

Shen Qiu frowned slightly—it was going to be tough to get in.

Buzz, buzz—

At that moment, Shen Qiu’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen to see it was an unfamiliar number.

After a few seconds of thought, he answered the call.

“Hello! Is this Mr. Shen?”

“Yes, who’s this?”

“Mr. Shen, I’m Sun Shu, the assistant for this ad campaign. How much longer until you can reach the site? We’re almost ready here,” Sun Shu asked with a bit of urgency.

“I’m just outside, but it seems difficult to get in. It’s crowded with people,” Shen Qiu replied.

“Mr. Shen, don’t enter through the main gate. Walk along the riverside; there’s a dedicated staff entrance. I’ll be waiting for you there.”

“Got it.”

Shen Qiu hung up the phone and turned to look at the distant Tianqing Canal.

The large canal, spanning nearly a kilometer in width, stretched out towards the horizon. This canal, which leads to the bay, not only supplies drinking water for Sky City but also serves as a major transportation route.

Next to the Tianqing Canal is a straight embankment road known as Tianqing Road. On the side of Tianqing Road is a fenced-off bridge-tunnel, which serves as an entry point. Shen Qiu headed toward it.

Shen Qiu quickly arrived at the entrance, where a young man wearing glasses and a white shirt was waiting anxiously. Upon seeing Shen Qiu, the man asked tentatively, “Are you Mr. Shen?”

“Yes,” Shen Qiu replied.

“Great, you’re finally here! Come with me, I’ll take you to the changing room,” Sun Shu said, immediately guiding Shen Qiu inside.

Following Sun Shu, Shen Qiu soon passed through a thick gate within the bridge-tunnel. They emerged onto a grassy area over a hundred meters wide, with the Tianqing Canal at the far end. Behind them was a sloped embankment, and above it, the road.

As Shen Qiu glanced around, he was a bit surprised. The organizers seemed quite capable, having cordoned off the entire riverside area of the Tianqing Canal and a 5-kilometer stretch of the adjacent road.

Looking more closely, Shen Qiu noticed a large number of staff gathered in the filming area, along with some supportive fans.

The supportive fans were gathered together by designated personnel, with professional photographers continuously taking photos of them for promotional purposes in the background.

Meanwhile, the on-site staff were busy setting up the runway for the shoot, and below the stage, three black motorcycles were neatly lined up.

“Mr. Shen, we’ve arrived at the changing room. You can leave your personal belongings inside,” Sun Shu said, leading Shen Qiu to a tent.

“Alright,” Shen Qiu replied as he walked into the tent. He quickly took off his jacket and started changing into the Black Knight outfit.

A few minutes later, Shen Qiu emerged from the tent, holding his helmet.

“Mr. Shen, please follow me. Today’s shooting is divided into two parts: a posed photoshoot and a distant riding sequence,” Sun Shu explained as he led Shen Qiu toward the runway that was being set up.

Shen Qiu nodded coolly in response.

Before long, Sun Shu brought Shen Qiu to the area near the stage and instructed, “Mr. Shen, please wait here. Someone will call for you when we’re ready to start shooting. I’ll be busy, but if you need anything, you can call me.”

“Mm,” Shen Qiu responded calmly.

Sun Shu then left, and Shen Qiu stood there, with nothing to do, watching the staff set up the lighting and backdrops on the stage.

While he was lost in thought, a light sound of footsteps approached. Soon, a soft voice greeted him, “Senior!”

Surprised, Shen Qiu turned his head to look.

Standing beside him was a graceful young woman. She wore a light blue floral dress, her white hair flowing down her shoulders, which were as pale as snow. She had delicate earrings, and her bright eyes radiated a gentle warmth.

“Who are you?” Shen Qiu asked, looking at her. She seemed familiar, as though he had seen her somewhere before.

“I’m Tang Kexin! Have you forgotten? We went to the same school,” she replied.

Tang Kexin’s fair face revealed a gentle smile as she slowly replied.

When Shen Qiu heard her words, something seemed to click in his mind, and his body instinctively tensed for a moment before quickly relaxing.

“I remember now, you’re my junior. We’ve met a few times before,” Shen Qiu said.

“Great, you didn’t forget me. I’m really happy to be shooting with you,” Tang Kexin said softly, clearly delighted.

“It’s been so many years. I didn’t expect you’d become a celebrity,” Shen Qiu remarked.

“It was just a coincidence. But because I became a celebrity, we got the chance to meet again,” Tang Kexin replied.

“Meeting here wasn’t purely by chance, was it? I think the reason I got this commercial might have something to do with you, right?” Shen Qiu’s tone carried a hint of distance.

Tang Kexin smiled brightly and said slowly, “I only gave the brand a suggestion. The main reason is that you’re outstanding on your own.”

After hearing Tang Kexin’s words, Shen Qiu glanced at his adorable junior with a subtle shift in his gaze.

As Shen Qiu and Tang Kexin were chatting, Sun Shu hurriedly ran over.

“Miss Tang, so you’re here!” Sun Shu said, slightly out of breath.

Tang Kexin turned her head towards him and responded warmly, “What’s the matter?”

“Well, the preparations are done, and we’re ready to start shooting!” Sun Shu quickly explained.

“Thank you for your hard work. We’ll start right away,” Tang Kexin said before turning to Shen Qiu.

“Shall we go?”

Shen Qiu, remaining indifferent, put on his helmet and responded coldly, “Let’s go.”

Sun Shu couldn’t help but take another look at Shen Qiu, thinking to himself, ‘Motorcycle riders really are a strange bunch.’ Seeing Kexin, most people would be thrilled, but this guy was completely indifferent.

Of course, Sun Shu didn’t say much more and immediately led the two of them onto the stage.

As soon as Shen Qiu and Tang Kexin stepped onto the platform, the staff quickly approached them.

“Miss Tang, are we ready to start?” the lead photographer, a middle-aged man, asked with a broad smile.

“Yes, we can start now, Director Anke,” Tang Kexin responded kindly, without the slightest hint of arrogance.

“Great! Miss Tang, Mr. Shen, please stand next to the motorcycles and strike a cool pose! We’ll take a few test shots first.”

“Lighting team, turn on the fill lights!”

“Everyone, get in position!” Director Anke continued to give instructions to the crew.
