Chapter 17: Chapter:17
Eh!
Ishisaki glanced at Gekkō Hayate with a look of disdain.
He hadn't expected this from Hayate—stooping to such a level despite being so well-regarded and having a girlfriend.
"Brother Hayate," Ishisaki began with a sly grin, "you do remember you have a girlfriend, don't you?"
Hayate froze for a moment. "Ah, yes. What's your point?"
"Oh, nothing much. Just that if she were to find out about your activities, it might not go over well."
Sweat began to bead on Hayate's forehead. "Now, wait just a second! What are you implying?!"
Ishisaki's grin widened. "Oh, nothing. But… if Brother Hayate were to teach me the Shadow Clone Technique, I'm sure I might have misheard something earlier."
"You… you're blackmailing me?!"
Hayate stumbled back, raising his hands defensively.
"Come on, Brother Hayate. A little trade—Shadow Clone for my silence. Seems fair, doesn't it?"
But Hayate, despite his earlier embarrassment, quickly regained his composure. "Nice try, kid. Learn Shadow Clone after you graduate!"
With that, Hayate vanished using his Body Flicker Technique, leaving Ishisaki standing there, muttering to himself.
"Guess that didn't work." Ishisaki sighed.
But he wasn't too discouraged. Both the Shadow Clone and Body Flicker Techniques would come to him eventually. For now, there were more pressing matters at hand: the full potential of the Transparency Technique.
Ishisaki looked at his arm, watching it slowly fade out of sight as he activated the technique. The sensation was surreal—his body disappearing but still feeling solid to the touch.
"This bloodline limit is good, but it has an obvious weakness."
The Transparency Technique was brilliant for invisibility and hiding his breath. However, it was completely useless against Byakugan users, who could see chakra flows.
Even with his body and breath hidden, his chakra network would still be visible to the Hyūga.
"If I ever have to face a Hyūga…" Ishisaki mused, "this ability will be useless."
His gaze shifted to the wooden sword at his side, now also invisible thanks to the transparency chakra cloaking it.
"Wait, if objects can be cloaked… can I extend this to ninjutsu?"
His curiosity piqued, Ishisaki decided to experiment.
Standing near a small clearing, Ishisaki formed hand seals for his sole Water Style ninjutsu: Water Style: Water Chaos Wave.
As he prepared the technique, he attempted to blend transparency chakra into the forming water jutsu.
The result was disastrous.
The water stopped forming entirely, and chakra within his body went haywire, nearly injuring him.
"So close!" Ishisaki gasped, his chest heaving.
It was a critical lesson—combining two different nature transformations, even with a bloodline limit like transparency, wasn't something he could manage yet.
"Looks like transparency can only work with non-elemental techniques for now," Ishisaki concluded.
He ran through his limited repertoire. Clone Technique? Possible, but its practical applications were limited. Shadow Clone Technique? Perfect, but he didn't know it yet.
And then, an idea struck him.
"Non-elemental attacks don't necessarily mean ninjutsu…"
Ishisaki reached into his ninja pouch and pulled out a kunai. Infusing the weapon with transparency chakra, he watched as the kunai disappeared from sight, vanishing completely into thin air.
"Now this… this has potential."
Ishisaki held the invisible kunai in his hand, feeling its weight and testing its balance.
An invisible weapon had endless uses. Thrown at an enemy, it would be almost impossible to dodge without enhanced senses or exceptional reflexes.
To test it, he flung the kunai at a nearby tree. The invisible weapon sailed through the air, embedding itself deep into the bark.
It took three seconds for the kunai to reappear.
"Perfect." Ishisaki grinned.
The delay in visibility was just enough to create confusion in combat, giving him the upper hand against unsuspecting opponents.
"An invisible kunai combined with my speed… this could be a game-changer."
He retrieved the kunai and began practicing his throwing technique. Precision and speed were key. If his accuracy wasn't perfect, the surprise element of the invisible kunai would be wasted.
"This could work for now," Ishisaki thought, wiping sweat from his brow. "But I'll need more than just invisible weapons."
His mind wandered back to the possibilities of ninjutsu. If he could ever master Rasengan or similar techniques, combining them with transparency could create devastating effects.
"Of course, the sound of techniques like Rasengan would give me away. But that's a problem for another time."
For now, the combination of transparency and hidden weapons would suffice. And with his rapid progress in chakra control, it was only a matter of time before he developed something even more lethal.
"Once I learn Shadow Clone, combined with the Transparency Technique…" Ishisaki's grin widened. "It'll be impossible for anyone to keep up with me."
