In the quiet, pitch-black underground cell, Rinjin slowly got up and walked to the door.

He clasped his hands together.

"Ox-Ram-Snake! Secret Technique: Slippery Yokai Jutsu!"

With a faint hum, Rinjin's body was instantly shrouded in a strange gray energy.

The gray mist dispersed, blending into the darkness. In that moment, it was as if his very existence had been forcibly erased from this world.

This was a secret technique from Amegakure, capable of greatly reducing one's presence.

Of course, it had its drawbacks. This technique only worked against ordinary sight, causing regular people to subconsciously overlook the user's presence.

However, it was completely ineffective against sensory-type shinobi.

Whether the ANBU had Byakugan users or not, Rinjin had no idea.

But!

At this point, there was no time to worry about such things. Every plan carried a risk of failure, and all Rinjin could do was minimize that risk.

His ears twitched slightly, picking up on the faintest of sounds.

Just now, he had heard an almost imperceptible footstep pass by his cell.

Rinjin knew this was an ANBU patrol.

Although he couldn't determine the exact patrol intervals or any discernible pattern, for him, knowing the shortest interval was enough.

For ANBU operatives, the shortest interval between patrols was about thirty seconds.

This meant that after one ANBU passed by, the next patrol wouldn't come for at least thirty seconds.

He began counting silently in his mind.

Ten... Eleven... Twelve... Thirteen... Fourteen...

Now!

Rinjin clasped his hands together, forming the "Horse" seal at lightning speed. He pointed his right index finger at the lock on the door.

"Unlocking Technique: Alohomora!"

In an instant, tiny iron particles hidden in the cracks of the walls outside the cell combined to form a key. The key crossed through space and inserted itself into the lock.

"Click!" The crisp sound echoed through the empty corridor.

Damn it! I accounted for everything but forgot about the damn door!

Suppressing the tremor in his hands, Rinjin slowly pushed the cell door open, carefully slipped out, and closed it behind him. Then, he formed another seal.

"Substitution Jutsu!"

"Poof!" With a soft sound, the pillow on Rinjin's bed transformed into his likeness, lying there as if nothing had happened.

"Come here!"

Using his Magnet Release to sense steel, Rinjin controlled the kunai hidden inside the pillow, quickly drawing it to the door.

Just two or three seconds later, Tsuchiguma came sprinting down the corridor.

When Rinjin saw the familiar dog-headed mask, he couldn't help but smile.

Although he didn't know what Tsuchiguma looked like, Rinjin was certain this guy wasn't from the Hyūga or Uchiha clans.

Why? Because the traits of those clans were too obvious.

One had straight black hair and a cold demeanor, while the other was a proud tsundere with a hint of social awkwardness.

Tsuchiguma, on the other hand, was just your average repressed pervert!

Tsuchiguma stopped in his tracks and began inspecting the cells one by one, following the direction of the sound.

"Click!" The small window on one of the cell doors slid open.

Inside, a prisoner lay on the bed, rolled over, and muttered something in their sleep.

...

Soon, Tsuchiguma arrived at Rinjin's cell. He hesitated for a second before sliding open the small window.

Inside the cell, Rinjin was standing stiffly by the door, wearing a creepy smile. His pitch-black eyes, hidden in the shadows, were wide open and staring straight at him.

Tsuchiguma felt a chill run down his spine and instinctively took several steps back.

"Y-you... What... What are you doing?!"

"Heehee~ Let's play hide-and-seek together!" Rinjin's innocent voice echoed in his ears.

"!"

In an instant, a cold sweat broke out from the base of Tsuchiguma's spine, running all the way up to his scalp. The short hairs on his head stood on end.

"G-go back to sleep!" he stammered, hastily shutting the window. He didn't even notice that the voice had come from right beside him, not from inside the cell.

Shivering, Tsuchiguma glanced around nervously before steeling himself and heading toward the guardroom. He failed to notice the dark shadow silently trailing behind him.

With a mischievous grin, Rinjin lightly touched the window of his cell door, leaving behind an iron filament tripwire.

Then, moving stealthily, he followed Tsuchiguma, retrieving the nearly invisible iron particles along the corridor walls as he went.

Trailing Tsuchiguma, Rinjin eventually arrived at a guardroom at the end of the corridor.

Unlike other rooms, this guardroom wasn't situated along the side of the hallway.

Instead, it blocked the corridor entirely, with one door leading to the prisoner cells and another door connecting to the outside world.

Rinjin followed Tsuchiguma into the brightly lit guardroom.

Instantly, the gray mist around him shifted, mimicking the colors of the light like a chameleon.

Tsuchiguma stepped into the light, shivering again as he complained to his colleagues in the room.

"Damn Rinjin! That brat was standing by the window pretending to be a ghost—I nearly died of fright!"

The other ANBU burst into laughter.

"Serves you right! Who told you to lend him *The Tales of Genji*? The blood's all gone to his little head—no wonder he can't sleep!"

Tsuchiguma didn't argue, just shivered again.

"You guys keep patrolling. I need to hit the restroom!"

"Don't tell me you got scared into wetting yourself!"

His companions erupted into laughter again.

Rinjin grinned along with them, quietly following Tsuchiguma.

After passing through four or five doors, climbing seventy or eighty steps, and encountering several patrols, Tsuchiguma finally emerged above ground, clutching his stomach.

Rinjin followed closely behind, eventually finding himself on the surface as well.

Looking around, Rinjin chuckled to himself.

He was now inside the Hokage Building, at the foot of the main staircase.

Relying on his memory from previous visits, Rinjin parted ways with his "good buddy" Tsuchiguma and made his way to a double wooden door in a corner of the first floor.

The ornate flames carved into the wood filled Rinjin with excitement. He clenched his fists tightly.

Finally!

After all the effort, he had reached this door!

To infiltrate Konoha, he had killed Amegakure shinobi and brought Rie with him.

To secure his freedom, he had racked his brain, inching closer to the Will of Fire.

To make Konoha wary, he had killed Amagawa, exposing his abilities.

To enter the Hokage Building, he had even provoked Tobirama Senju with bold words and actions.

Every step had been cautious, like walking on thin ice.

Thinking about it, Rinjin couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration.

Why is it that other transmigrators get cheat abilities like Mangekyō Sharingan, Rinnegan, or Tenseigan?

And me? I get immortality... the kind where I'm dissected and dried like jerky!

Finally, after countless struggles, Rinjin suppressed his complaints. The prize was within reach.

Excitedly rubbing his hands together, Rinjin extended his right hand. Tiny iron particles seeped out from his skin, slowly forming a key.

"Click!" The lock opened with a soft sound.

Rinjin's heart leapt with joy. Ignoring the need for stealth, he slipped into the archive room in a flash.

Closing the door behind him, he took a deep breath. The rich scent of ink and parchment filled his nostrils.

"This... This is the smell of knowledge. Sublime!"

Standing on tiptoe, he rubbed his hands together, his eyes gleaming as he scanned the archive.

The room was vast and cylindrical, with a high dome reaching seven or eight meters overhead.

Around the walls stood tall, ancient bookshelves, each filled with scrolls of various sizes.

Rinjin knew these scrolls contained countless ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, and secret techniques from Konoha.

But his ultimate goal was singular.

In the center of the room lay a massive scroll, half as tall as a person, resting quietly on a circular stone pedestal.

The pedestal was engraved with intricate patterns and complex characters, surrounded by six evenly spaced candle holders. The flickering flames illuminated the entire room.

Damn it! Who lights candles in a library full of scrolls? Are they trying to burn the place down?

Rinjin shook his head but quickly refocused. Time was of the essence.

Rushing to the pedestal, he examined the engravings on the ground.

Beautiful, intricate... and utterly incomprehensible.

The words twisted and turned like English sentences in a third-grade textbook.

They knew him, but he didn't know them.

Even so, Rinjin understood these patterns weren't just decorative. Like English grammar, they had a purpose beyond tormenting him.

Clasping his hands together, Rinjin formed another seal.

In the next moment, he pulled a rod of iron particles from beneath his cloak.

"Well then, let's give it a try!"

He extended the rod toward the pedestal.

Suddenly, a silver-white flash of light sliced through the air. Rinjin's right hand, still gripping the rod, was severed at the wrist.

What the hell?! You cut me instead of the rod?!

And not just my hand—you cut through my iron-hard wrist bone! That's insane!

Blood mixed with black iron particles gushed from the wound. Rinjin quickly formed a one-handed seal.

The iron particles gathered at the wound, forming a membrane to staunch the bleeding.

"Magnet Release: Iron Man Technique!" he muttered.

The fallen rod disintegrated, reshaping itself into a tiny figure of Rinjin, no larger than a palm.

This was the same technique Rinjin had used to escape his reinforced cell earlier.

The tiny Rinjin stood up, bouncing twice to adjust to his miniature body. He picked up Rinjin's severed hand and tossed it out of the barrier.

Rinjin caught his hand and reattached it to his wrist.

The iron particles in his body formed needles, quickly stitching the wound together.

There was no time for slow healing now.

Once reattached, Rinjin formed another seal, directing the tiny figure to approach the massive Scroll of Seals.

The miniature Rinjin leapt up, prying open the clasp holding the scroll shut.

"Whoosh!" The scroll unfurled, and Rinjin hurried to the edge of the pedestal.

Seven bold characters stood out on the scroll:

*Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!*

Holy crap! The ultimate cheat technique?!

Without wasting a second, Rinjin entered a state of total focus. Holding his breath, his eyes gleamed as he absorbed the scroll's contents.

Line by line, he memorized the technique's formula, not bothering to comprehend it just yet.

"Next page!"

At his command, the miniature Rinjin rolled the scroll further, stopping just before the flames of a nearby candle.

"Stop!"

Rinjin quickly halted the scroll, narrowly avoiding disaster.

Looking at the next section, his eyes widened.

"Huh? This isn't the Eight Gates Technique! What is this?"

A new section of text appeared, written in an incredibly complex script.

"This... The Flying Raijin Jutsu! But where's the formula? Where are the seals?"

There was no formula—just a lengthy, convoluted passage of text.

Damn it!

Gritting his teeth, Rinjin forced himself to memorize the passage.

Thankfully, he had trained his memory for this day. Otherwise, he might not have managed it.

Still, the text was incomprehensible. He recognized every individual word, but together, they made no sense.

Just as he prepared to continue, his senses tingled.

"Not good! Someone's coming!" Rinjin whispered urgently.
