Naruto :Uchiha's Reincarnation

Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Counterattack!

Two hours later, near the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Rain.

"Go! This way!"

The Inuzuka ninja twitched his nose, leading Haruto and Furukawa in a particular direction.

"Wait a moment!" Haruto paused, noticing several wounds on Furukawa's body. She had been injured earlier during their battle when one of the Amegakure ninjas managed to stab her multiple times with a kunai. Though Furukawa was powerful with her clan's secret techniques, her physical combat skills were only average.

"Let's stop the bleeding first," Haruto said, handing Furukawa a roll of gauze from his ninja pouch. "It'll help prevent any more blood loss, which could weaken you later, and it might also stop the enemy from tracking us through any blood traces."

Furukawa nodded as she took the gauze and began to bandage her wounds. They were now less than 40 kilometers from the stronghold near the border of the Land of Fire. The Amegakure ninjas might give up pursuit to avoid running into Konoha reinforcements, but Haruto wasn't willing to take that chance. If he gambled wrong, it could cost them all their lives.

"All right, but we need to move immediately if the enemy closes in," Furukawa replied.

Before she could finish, the expression on Inuzuka's face suddenly shifted.

"What is it? Are the enemies getting closer?" Haruto asked, startled, preparing to carry Furukawa and flee in another direction.

"No, not them!" A grin spread across the Inuzuka's face. "It's our team! I smell Iron Gate, and my clan sister, Inuzuka Claw!"

Furukawa paused, momentarily abandoning the bandaging to quicken her pace. Hyuga Tetsumon, or "Iron Gate," had been their comrade from the academy, and he'd never lagged behind them in skill. As a member of the Hyuga clan, his development must have been impressive. With him on their side, Inuzuka believed they'd have the strength to eliminate the Amegakure forces chasing them.

"Iron Gate... Hyuga Tetsumon and Claw. I remember Retsu is also in this squad," Haruto mused, raising an eyebrow.

After Furukawa finished tending to her injuries, the group followed Inuzuka, who tracked the scent towards where the Hyuga's team was.

At the same time, about a kilometer away, Inuzuka Claw was also rushing towards Haruto and his team, following the scent.

"Long time no see, Haruto!" Claw called out as soon as she spotted them.

"Haha! We meet again, Haruto!" Retsu added, greeting him warmly.

Haruto smiled at them in return. However, Hyuga Tetsumon, who had been quiet until now, stepped forward, cutting through their attempt at small talk.

"If I'm not mistaken, Furukawa's injuries came from the Amegakure team pursuing you, right? Save the reunion for later. For now, let's focus on handling this problem. What information do you have on the enemy?"

Tetsumon spoke with a calm yet commanding tone. His Byakugan had already scanned the area, monitoring movements within a kilometer.

"Tetsumon is right. We need to deal with those Amegakure ninjas first," Haruto replied, getting straight to the point. "Initially, we fought against a team of three chunin from Amegakure. We managed to kill their sensory ninja. After that, another team of one chunin and three genin arrived as reinforcements. We couldn't be sure we'd win without suffering casualties, so we pulled back since the stronghold isn't too far from here."

"You fought against three chunin and survived?" Retsu looked astonished, while Inuzuka Claw shared the same surprise.

Tetsumon regarded Haruto's team with a sharp look. He considered himself a competent genin, but in close combat, even with his Byakugan and Gentle Fist techniques, he could only hold his own against one chunin at best. He had thought Haruto, Inuzuka, and Furukawa were about on par with him in skill, but this revelation surprised him.

"You defeated one chunin and held off their reinforcements unscathed... It seems you've grown quite strong," Tetsumon remarked, his gaze lingering on Haruto.

Haruto nodded, but Tetsumon's thoughts went deeper. He couldn't help but reflect on his own clan, the Hyuga. Despite their noble status, the curse of the Caged Bird Seal would always limit their potential, unlike the Uchiha clan. In his heart, Tetsumon felt the Hyuga's so-called prestige was hollow.

Despite these thoughts, Tetsumon maintained a composed expression. "So, there are six of us now. What's the plan? Do we head straight to the stronghold, or do we fight back?"

Haruto's eyes hardened as he replied firmly, "If an Uchiha could swallow their pride, they wouldn't be an Uchiha."

In truth, even before Tetsumon's team arrived, Haruto believed they could manage a fight. But without reinforcements, it was likely someone would have been sacrificed, which was why he had opted for a retreat earlier. Now, with the added strength of Tetsumon's team, he was ready to turn the tables.

Meanwhile, about a kilometer away, the Amegakure team was still in pursuit.

"Hey, why don't we call it off?" one of the Rain ninjas muttered. He had been injured by Haruto during their previous encounter and felt uneasy about continuing. "Those kids are strong. Even if we beat them, we'll lose people."

He spoke quietly, not wanting the genin in their group to hear and think less of him.

"What are you scared of?" their captain, a middle-aged chunin wielding a large, unusual umbrella, interrupted. "They're just kids. Aside from the Uchiha, the other two aren't as strong as we are, and that Aburame girl is injured. Once we find them, we'll have the genin hold her off, and we'll finish the others quickly. We still outnumber them!"

He wasn't aware that the numbers had already doubled.

---

As the teams prepared for a final confrontation, Haruto's resolve only grew stronger. With their reinforcements in place, it was time for a counterattack that would remind their enemies why Konoha's name carried so much weight.
