Naruto: Tobirama Reborn, Invincible in the Ninja World

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Naruto and Sasuke’s Growth

The Land of Rain, nestled at the intersection of the Lands of Earth, Wind, and Fire, had long been marred by endless conflicts.

In its earlier days, a man known as "Hanzō the Salamander" led Amegakure to declare war against the three great nations during the Second Shinobi World War. Though his efforts were ultimately in vain, they ensured that this small country would not be entirely trampled underfoot.

Later, Pain and Angel brought new life to Amegakure—a fact every villager there acknowledged.

Today, however, the village, perpetually shrouded in rain and gloom, was bathed in an unusual brightness. Rays of sunlight illuminated the faces of every Ame villager, casting their expressions in a rare moment of hope.

High atop the central tower—hallowed ground for the "god" and "angel" of Amegakure—sunlight pierced through, filling the chamber with light.

On the bed, Konan stirred, her eyes fluttering open. Her sharp sensory abilities immediately picked up the presence of an intruder.

"This is Nagato's body. He was killed by Tobirama Senju."

From the Kamui dimension, Obito retrieved a gaunt, lifeless corpse and placed it on the ground.

Konan, who had been alert and wary of him, froze the moment her eyes fell upon the familiar body.

"Nagato!"

Her body trembled violently as she collapsed beside Nagato, clutching at his corpse. Her worst fears had come true.

"Nagato's eyes…"

She stared at his hollowed eye sockets, a glint of cold determination flashing in her gaze.

"They were taken by Tobirama Senju, weren't they?"

Obito touched the mask on his face, his single exposed eye meeting Konan's glare without hesitation.

His gaze betrayed nothing—calm and composed, as though everything he claimed was undeniable fact.

"I'm going to Konoha!"

"Wait—"

Konan paid no heed to Obito's attempt to stop her. She wrapped Nagato's body in a shroud of countless paper strips, and with wings of paper unfurling behind her, she shot into the sky, leaving Amegakure at once.

Obito's hand lingered mid-air as he watched her departure, a wry smile tugging at his lips.

"What a foolish woman, wouldn't you agree?"

From behind him, Black Zetsu emerged, its dark form slipping into view.

"Let's hope Konan buys us some time," Obito muttered, his gaze following her vanishing silhouette.

For a fleeting moment, guilt flickered in his eye, but it was quickly erased. He removed the swirling-patterned mask, revealing a Rinnegan in his other eye socket.

As for why he didn't replace both, it was because Kamui's abilities were Obito's greatest trump card. Without them, he felt uneasy. Besides, even one Rinnegan placed a significant strain on his body—enough to remind him of Nagato's plight.

"Next, while Konan stalls Konoha, we'll move to seize the Eight-Tails and Two-Tails from Kumogakure."

"Even though Tobirama doesn't possess the Rinnegan to unify the Tailed Beasts, with Madara under his control, he may find another way. If he gathers all the beasts, reclaiming them from Konoha will be almost impossible."

Black Zetsu nodded, its tone calm and assured.

"Relax. Without the Rinnegan, summoning the Gedo Statue is impossible. Without the statue, the Tailed Beasts are useless."

"Good."

A ripple of black swirled through the air, and both Obito and Black Zetsu vanished without a trace.

"Nagato, Yahiko, Konan…I'll reunite you in the world of illusion. That, I promise!"

Konoha Training Grounds

"Wow, Sasuke, you've gotten so strong! Ack—"

Naruto spat out a mouthful of sand as he clambered back to his feet, having been knocked flat by a single blow from Sasuke.

"Sasuke really has improved a lot," Gaara observed quietly, standing to the side and watching intently.

Uchiha Sasuke, unbothered by the praise, remained silent. With the Mangekyō Sharingan now awakened, he understood his own strength clearly. Even without using his eye techniques, he could hold his own against most jonin-level shinobi.

However, the immense power of the Mangekyō came at a steep price—it drained his eyesight with every use. Guided by his mentors, including his brother, Itachi, Sasuke had resolved to use those abilities sparingly.

"Hokage-sama! Captain Kakashi!"

Naruto's sharp eyes spotted Tobirama Senju, Kakashi Hatake, and Madara Uchiha standing at the edge of the training field.

While Naruto was still bitter about this mysterious "uncle" stealing the Hokage title, Tobirama's consistent kindness and support had earned Naruto's grudging respect.

Gaara hesitated briefly before bowing politely. "Hokage-sama."

Tobirama nodded in acknowledgment.

Sasuke, meanwhile, greeted Madara with visible admiration before turning to Tobirama.

"Sensei."

Madara smirked, his tone cutting. "Taking this long to deal with a brat like him? I'll be doubling your training load."

"Yes, sir!"

"What? Long-hair uncle is your teacher?!" Naruto gawked, shocked that someone as headstrong as Sasuke would defer to anyone.

"Madara Uchiha!"

The moment Kurama sensed Madara's presence, he stirred awake inside Naruto's mind.

Madara, meeting Kurama's fiery gaze, smirked.

"It's been a while, my little pet."
