Naruto: Tobirama Reborn, Invincible in the Ninja World

Chapter 118: Chapter 118: “Izuna”

Once everything was settled, Tobirama gathered the crowd behind him and activated the Flying Thunder God Jutsu.

A flash of intense blue light later, the group disappeared without a trace.

Moments after their departure, whispers emerged from beneath the ground.

"Did you see that?"

"Yeah, I saw it."

"Saw what exactly?"

"I saw Senju Tobirama, Lord Madara, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kakashi, Sasori, Deidara, Kisame, and Kakuzu."

"Are you reading a menu or something?"

"Uh... Should we report this to Obito?"

"Black Zetsu said there's no need."

"Why listen to him?"

"Because he's Lord Madara's will incarnate."

"But didn't Lord Madara just leave with Senju Tobirama?"

Two White Zetsus emerged from the ground, bickering as they wandered off.

...

Konohagakure – Hokage's Office

Although it was already nighttime, the Hokage building remained brightly lit, with silhouettes of busy staff darting past the windows.

"Shikaku-sama, Kirigakure has sent an urgent message!"

An Anbu operative burst through the door, clutching an envelope sealed under multiple layers of protection.

Nara Shikaku sat in the Hokage's chair, his desk piled high with documents that nearly reached his chest.

Hearing the mention of Kirigakure, he pushed past his exhaustion, standing to take the letter.

The sharp terms Tobirama had dictated to Kirigakure during the meeting a few days ago were still fresh in his mind.

Would they comply? Or refuse?

With a mix of anticipation and unease, Shikaku opened the envelope and scanned the contents at lightning speed.

Moments later, a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

Kirigakure had accepted! They had yielded to Konoha's demands!

This, however, was not entirely unexpected.

After all, their Hokage was practically superhuman.

But the Anbu operative didn't leave after delivering the message. Instead, he continued:

"Shikaku-sama, Kumogakure has mobilized their forces. Earlier today, the Fourth Raikage, A, publicly declared war on Konoha."

"The Daimyō of the Land of Lightning fully supports this decision, calling it a righteous war of national defense. Several small neighboring countries have also pledged their allegiance to Kumogakure."

Shikaku showed little reaction, as if this development had been within his expectations.

After all, Tobirama's demand that the Raikage personally deliver his own head and surrender their Jinchūriki was an insult no village could tolerate—least of all the hot-tempered Raikage.

"I understand. Dismissed."

Waving the Anbu operative away, Shikaku waited until the room was empty before beginning to pace anxiously.

The Hokage had ventured off to face none other than the Rinnegan—the legendary eyes of the Sage of Six Paths. Who wouldn't be worried?

To make matters worse, there was Orochimaru's Edo Tensei, and the very real possibility of Uchiha Madara being resurrected.

While Shikaku trusted Tobirama and the First Hokage's abilities, the village was vulnerable. With all of Konoha's top-tier combatants gone, any attack could spell disaster.

As if summoned by his thoughts, a hum of chakra rippled through the office. In a flash, Tobirama and his entourage materialized in the room.

"Hokage-sama, you're finally back!" Shikaku exhaled in relief.

His relief was short-lived, however, as he caught sight of the group behind Tobirama. Several of them clearly weren't the heroic type.

"Nara clan members?" Uchiha Madara arched a brow, recognition flickering in his crimson eyes as he took in Shikaku's spiky hair.

"He's Uchiha Madara. I..." Tobirama leaned in to whisper, recounting the day's events.

As Shikaku's expression shifted between disbelief, concern, and resignation, he eventually processed the monumental information dump.

Casting another wary glance at the motley crew, he sighed. By now, he was used to Tobirama's tendency to drag rogue elements back to the village.

"Tobirama, this is Kakuzu, your new Minister of Finance." Tobirama introduced the visibly uncomfortable Kakuzu with a firm grip on the man's shoulder.

Kakuzu had initially resisted the idea, but with a blade to his throat and the promise of overseeing Konoha's entire treasury, his greed ultimately won out.

"Minister of Finance? Since when do we have one?" Shikaku muttered, skeptical.

"Since today. And this is Deidara, head of the Explosives Department," Tobirama continued, dragging over the blond artist.

"And here's Sasori, head of the Mechanization Department..."

"These two are Madara and his... er, associate, Kisame. They don't have departments yet."

After exhausting introductions, Tobirama tasked Shikaku with arranging accommodations and work assignments for the newcomers.

Deidara, however, pestered Tobirama endlessly to teach him new explosive techniques. Fed up, Tobirama handed him the technique with a stern warning never to use it in the village.

...

Uchiha Compound

The expansive grounds of the Uchiha clan were silent, save for the glow from one home.

"Sasuke, was today's mission difficult?" Itachi asked gently, placing a slice of char siu pork into his younger brother's bowl.

Gone was the cold, ruthless warrior; in his place was a kind and caring older brother.

"It was... okay." Sasuke's gaze flickered over the meal, his expression distant.

After Itachi had returned to the village and revealed the truth behind his actions, Sasuke had nearly broken under the weight of the revelations.

Hatred and sorrow had been all-consuming, but so had the love and sacrifice that Itachi had shown.

At just 12 years old, the shock of learning the truth had awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan.

Were it not for Naruto and Gaara's support, and the fact that the Hokage had already dealt with Danzō and Hiruzen, Sasuke might have sought revenge against Konoha itself.

Though their relationship was still strained, Sasuke had begun to accept Itachi again.

Looking at his younger brother's uneasy expression, Itachi lowered his head, guilt welling up inside him. It was his fault that Sasuke had to endure so much.

"Here..." Sasuke silently handed him a tissue.

Turning, Itachi saw Sasuke's teary eyes.

"Forgive me, Sasuke..."

Before long, the two brothers were embracing, their emotions spilling over.

The heartwarming moment didn't last.

"Uh, Madara, I think we're interrupting something," Tobirama muttered, stopping in his tracks as he pushed open the door.

"What could we possibly be interrupting?" Madara brushed past, fully opening the door.

"Izuna?!" Madara froze, his gaze locked on Sasuke's face.
