Naruto: Tobirama Reborn, Invincible in the Ninja World

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Brainwashing the Entire Akatsuki? And Look, It's Deidara!

"Orochimaru, move all your experimental materials and equipment to Konohagakure. Bring your subordinates along as well, but make sure to keep them in line."

"Here, take my Flying Thunder God kunai and give it to Nara Shikaku—he'll understand."

"As for the Root lab left behind by Shimura Danzō, you'll take charge of it from now on. I won't interfere with your future experiments, but you're forbidden from using the villagers as test subjects."

Tobirama handed Orochimaru a kunai. Orochimaru repeatedly nodded before vanishing in a blur.

Tobirama then turned to Itachi Uchiha. Since being persuaded to change his allegiance, Itachi had been nothing short of a workhorse, participating in nearly every mission Tobirama undertook. Even with the boost from Hashirama's cells, the overwork was taking a toll.

"Itachi, you've worked hard. Take a break and spend some time with Sasuke."

Itachi rubbed his tired eyes and replied, "Understood," before disappearing with a few quick Shunshin steps.

"That kid's not bad," remarked Madara Uchiha, his eyes following Itachi's retreating figure until he was out of sight.

Madara's sensitivity to Hashirama's chakra made him instantly aware of Itachi's condition.

"Of course, he's the one who exterminated the Uchiha clan," Tobirama commented.

"Wait, what did you just say?"

Madara's initial calm gave way to alarm as his head snapped toward Tobirama, his Sharingan glaring. Though he had disowned the clan for betraying him, it didn't mean he lacked feelings for them. If Tobirama didn't offer a proper explanation, things were about to get ugly.

Tobirama sighed deeply. The inevitable had come. Even if he stayed silent now, Madara would eventually figure it out upon returning to the Uchiha district. It was better to explain everything upfront.

Taking a deep breath, Tobirama began recounting the long and bitter tale.

The seeds of the Uchiha clan's destruction had been sown since Konoha's founding.

Every Uchiha who awakened the Sharingan could be considered somewhat unstable—unlocking the Sharingan required intense emotional trauma. Even the most rational individual could become unhinged after such an ordeal.

Proud and self-assured, the Uchiha were a difficult group to unify. Even Madara himself found no willing followers when he left the village.

Madara's defection also stained the clan's reputation further. Despite this, the original Tobirama still entrusted the Uchiha with the Konoha Police Force and even took Kagami Uchiha as his disciple—proving he sought to guard against the clan, not annihilate them.

However, his other students—Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzō Shimura—failed to grasp this nuance. They only saw Tobirama's wariness of the Uchiha and not his fairness toward them, and their actions led to relentless suppression of the clan.

The situation worsened when the Nine-Tails was manipulated by the Sharingan. The Uchiha couldn't clear their name, and mistrust deepened.

Then, Shisui Uchiha, the clan's strongest at the time, fell victim to Danzō's schemes, while Itachi, influenced by Hiruzen's "Will of Fire," carried out the massacre. The Uchiha clan was doomed.

Tobirama finished his explanation and cast a solemn look at Madara.

"You've trained some fine disciples, haven't you?" Madara finally said after a long silence.

"I've already killed Danzō and placed Hiruzen under lifetime imprisonment," Tobirama replied, exhaling deeply.

"You're capable of reviving the dead, aren't you? Bring Danzō back. I want to make him understand the price of messing with the Uchiha!" Madara roared, though his anger wasn't directed at Tobirama—he knew Tobirama's ire had always been focused solely on him, not the entire clan.

"And as for Hiruzen, once we return to Konoha, I'll deal with him personally!"

Tobirama nodded. "That's fine, but I suggest sparing his life."

"Of course. Only the living can truly experience suffering..." Madara sneered coldly, a dark plan brewing in his mind.

"I take back what I said about Itachi. What a fool—letting himself be used by such scum. He's a disgrace to the Uchiha!"

Tobirama suppressed the urge to remind Madara of his own manipulation by Black Zetsu.

Afterward, Tobirama and Madara searched for Nagato's corpse. As expected, though they sensed residual chakra, his body was gone—likely recovered by Black Zetsu along with Madara's Rinnegan.

Northern Border of the Land of Fire

The once-raging battlefield had fallen silent.

Sasori of the Red Sand's true body had been shattered into pieces by Tsunade, who had activated the Strength of a Hundred Seal. Per Tobirama's earlier orders, his regenerating core was sealed rather than destroyed.

Deidara, meanwhile, was fuming. His explosive clay had been countered by Kakashi's Lightning Release at every turn. Even his attempt to self-destruct was thwarted out of concern for Sasori. With one arm mangled by Kamui, he lay on the ground, cursing loudly.

"You masked jerk! Is Lightning Release all you've got? Fight me with something else! And you, old hag—release Sasori already!"

Kakashi chuckled. Thanks to Tobirama's intel on the Akatsuki's weaknesses, taking down this "explosive artist" hadn't been too difficult.

"Tsunade-sama, what should we do with them?" Kakashi asked, glancing at Tsunade, who was guarding Sasori's restrained form.

"Granduncle Tobirama said to keep them alive. Let's take them back to Konoha."

"No need—I'm already here."

Tobirama and Madara appeared together, thanks to the Flying Thunder God technique.
