Naruto: Tobirama Reborn, Invincible in the Ninja World

Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Heart-to-Heart

When Tobirama finally finished recounting the lengthy tale, he dissipated the watery screen shielding Madara's face.

Madara, who had been silent for an extended period, regained his composure enough to speak.

"Hahahahaha! Tobirama, I never realized you had such a knack for spinning stories. Perhaps you missed your calling as a storyteller? Hahaha!"

Madara's laughter echoed through the space, his armored body trembling with every chuckle, the metallic plates clinking noisily. However, Tobirama noticed something subtle—despite the laughter, Madara's gaze was unsteady, avoiding direct eye contact.

'Doubt has taken root, yet he's too proud to fully believe it,' Tobirama thought, a faint smile crossing his lips as he saw through Madara's current state.

It was only natural. Anyone would react this way. Being told that the truths they had held sacred for decades were nothing more than lies, an elaborate trap... Most people would crumble under the weight of such a revelation.

"What I just told you is no story. It is the true history of the Shinobi World."

Tobirama grabbed Madara's head firmly, forcing their eyes to meet. His intense gaze sent a shiver down Madara's spine.

"And why should I believe you?" Madara growled, clearly uncomfortable with the proximity and demanding answers.

"You believe White Zetsu is a creation of my brother's cells and the Gedo Statue's life force, correct?" Tobirama stared deeply into Madara's eyes.

"Of course! The White Zetsu were created from Hashirama's cells and the Gedo Statue's vitality. They couldn't possibly be anything else!" Madara retorted without hesitation, his conviction unwavering.

Tobirama shook his head slowly.

'He's been completely deceived by Black Zetsu,' Tobirama thought grimly.

"What if I can prove otherwise?"

"What proof?!" Madara cut him off, his tone sharp and eager, betraying his desperation.

"These eyes," Tobirama declared.

In an instant, his crimson Sharingan morphed. His blue irises rippled with black rings as the deep, resonant light of the Rinnegan illuminated the room.

"This... How do you possess the Rinnegan?!" Madara's composed demeanor cracked. Even he, after years of research and enlightenment from the Sage of Six Paths' stone tablet, had only awakened it in the twilight of his life.

"Wait! Does this mean... Hashirama and I are reincarnations of the Sage's sons?!" Madara gasped, his mind racing.

Tobirama lifted his head slightly, savoring the powerful sensation of the Rinnegan's ocular prowess. Then, with a swift motion, he slammed his hand onto the ground.

"Summoning Jutsu: Gedo Statue!"

The earth trembled violently as a massive, grotesque figure erupted from below, its sinister visage towering over them.

It was the Gedo Statue, though its body still bore the scars from Tobirama's earlier battle.

"As for how I got these eyes, that's a secret," Tobirama said with a sly grin, stepping forward to manipulate the Gedo Statue in front of Madara.

From the statue's body, a withered spike emerged, dripping chakra imbued with its life force. Tobirama retrieved a vial containing Hashirama's cells and combined it with the chakra.

Madara, watching from the ground, was utterly transfixed.

When the chakra and Hashirama's cells merged, nothing happened. No White Zetsu appeared as Madara had once believed.

In truth, the White Zetsu Madara thought he had created were merely entities that Black Zetsu had hidden within the statue beforehand.

"This... This can't be..." Madara murmured, his disbelief overwhelming him as he began to struggle to his feet. He muttered to himself, completely ignoring Tobirama's Rinnegan.

Seeing Madara's turmoil, Tobirama relinquished control, allowing Madara to conduct his own experiment.

Madara repeated Tobirama's actions, again and again, each attempt yielding the same result: nothing.

He was relentless, frantically trying to replicate what he once thought he had achieved. His actions bordered on madness.

After countless attempts, Madara finally slumped to the ground, his soul seemingly drained.

"Perhaps this alone isn't enough to convince you," Tobirama said, tilting his head slightly. "But I have other ways to prove it."

"No... No need..." Madara interrupted, his voice hollow.

His expression shifted rapidly—shock, regret, fury—each emotion taking its turn in his storming mind.

"Hahahaha... So this is how it ends. I, the man who sought to dominate the world, reduced to a pawn in the schemes of something not even human..." Madara laughed bitterly, his anger rising.

"The Infinite Tsukuyomi I devoted my life to... What is it now but a hollow illusion?"

Madara's fury reached its peak as he thought of Black Zetsu, the orchestrator behind his lifetime of toil.

Tobirama silently resealed the Gedo Statue and stepped behind Madara, his Rinnegan fading back into its Sharingan state.

"Tobirama," Madara said, staring into the distant mountains. "Isn't it laughable? My Moon's Eye Plan, which I gambled my life on, was nothing more than a tool for beings from beyond the heavens..."

"Just a little," Tobirama replied flatly.

"What, then, is the true future of the Shinobi World?" Madara mused aloud, a rare trace of vulnerability in his voice.

"The future you pursued in life," Tobirama answered.

"Of course, you would say that. Even Hashirama said the same just now." Madara chuckled softly.

"It's almost amusing that you managed to shift your brother's naive ideals."

"To unify the Shinobi World and enact reform," Tobirama declared firmly.

"To suppress the source of all chaos."

"To maintain peace, we need a perpetual deterrent. As long as powerful figures exist, no one will dare disrupt order."

"Our true enemies... are the ones from the heavens."

"Shinobi are nothing more than livestock bred by beings from beyond this world. The White Zetsu prove that clearly enough."

"When the time comes, the Shinobi World will need us once more," Tobirama finished coldly.

Madara smirked.

"If you had been like this in life, Tobirama, perhaps we could have been friends."

"It's not too late," Tobirama replied, stepping beside Madara to stand shoulder to shoulder.
