Chapter 3: Chapter 2: The Advantages of an Orphan Start

[ First-time A-Rank Tutorial Completion: Reward Received: Fire Chakra Nature Transformation Mastery ]
Receiving three rewards at once left Muyue pleasantly surprised. He felt a surge of new memories flood his mind, especially those concerning the mastery of Fire Chakra Nature Transformation training.
The memories were so vivid that Muyue had the illusion he had spent a lifetime specializing in Fire Release techniques as a seasoned ninja.
"Teacher Hoshino, may I ask you a question?" Shisui inquired respectfully.
Hearing this, Muyue, who was about to review his performance evaluation, paused. Leading Shisui to an empty hallway in the school building, he used Perception Ninjutsu to ensure no strong chakra presences were nearby.
Feeling reassured, he smiled and asked, "Is it about something you didn't understand in the lesson? Feel free to ask."
Shisui shook his head. "It's not about the lesson content. I have a different question."
"Teacher, you know that the Senju and Uchiha clans co-founded the Hidden Leaf Village. But why does everyone only remember the contributions of the Senju, while the Uchiha's role is rarely mentioned?"
Though still a child, Shisui was particularly mature and perceptive. When walking in the village with his elders, he could sense the odd looks people gave their clan's emblem.
Despite being co-founders of the village, why were the Uchiha not only unacknowledged but seemingly disliked? Shisui couldn't understand.
Looking at Shisui's puzzled expression, Mu Yue silently complained, "Senju Hashirama's reputation in the village versus Uchiha Madara's… is that even a contest?"
"You've probably only read the history recorded within your clan, haven't you?" Mu Yue asked.
Shisui nodded. He only had access to the Uchiha clan's version of history.
"A lot happened to make things the way they are now. It's complicated, and not something I can explain in a short time," Mu Yue replied with a troubled expression.
Noticing Muyue's hesitation, Shisui felt guilty, realizing the issue was more complex than he'd imagined. He was about to suggest dropping the matter when Muyue spoke again.
"Never mind. If you have free time after class in the future, come find me. I'll explain the history to you bit by bit," Muyue sighed.
"After all, I suppose I owe the Uchiha clan a debt of gratitude. Consider it repayment."
Shisui was confused. How could Mu Yue owe the Uchiha anything? So, he asked directly.
"My parents were once surrounded by enemies during a war and were saved by an Uchiha ninja named Kagami. Although they ultimately died later in the war, I've never forgotten that life-saving kindness," Muyue said, feigning gratitude.
He was thankful that his original body's identity as an orphan gave him room to improvise such stories.
One had to admit, sometimes, the dead were more useful than the living.
Shisui's eyes widened in astonishment, his expression one of disbelief. Uchiha Kagami was his grandfather. Learning about this unexpected connection with Muyue gave him a strange sense of wonder.
However, Shisui wasn't the type to exploit gratitude. He merely expressed his thanks to Muyue before leaving.
As Shisui walked away, Muyue used the Appraisal Jutsu on him.
Name: Uchiha Shisui
Chakra: 500
Potential: SS-
Evaluation: Possesses Six Paths lineage, highly suited for Fire Release and Genjutsu. Tremendous potential. Recommended for apprenticeship.
Walking back to his office, Mu Yue couldn't help but marvel at Shisui. No wonder he could activate Susano'o with just one Sharingan. Two golden "S" grades—it's dazzling. Even the system recommends taking him as a student.
Once at his desk, Mu Yue opened his status panel to check for any updates.
Name: Hoshino Muyue
Age: 18
Chakra: 4300
Evaluation: Master of Fire Chakra Nature Transformation. Limited by low chakra reserves. If this deficiency is addressed, your abilities would qualify you as an elite among Jonin.
"Looks like this Fire Nature Mastery is even more potent than I expected," Mu Yue thought. He realized he might have underestimated the weight of the word "mastery."
Initially, he thought it equated to the knowledge of an average Jonin. But now, it seemed his understanding of Fire Chakra Nature Transformation was likely on par with the Third Hokage.
After all, aside from two basic Fire Release techniques, Muyue's skillset only included Body Flicker, standard substitution techniques, and some basic taijutsu. Yet with these rewards and increased chakra reserves, he could potentially reach elite Jonin status—equivalent to Kakashi or Asuma when the main storyline began.
Despite his rapid power-up, Muyue's excitement was dampened by his position in Root.
Firstly, the curse mark placed on Root members made him feel unsafe. Secondly, Danzo's tendency to treat his subordinates as disposable only added to his unease.
"I need to start taking disciples and growing stronger quickly. Even if I can't reach the level where I can kill Danzo and leave with style, I need enough strength to protect myself," Muyue decided.
As he entered the office, he saw three other teachers—two men and one woman—complaining about their students.
"Ugh, I can't believe I got stuck with Class 2 of Year 4. I already have a Year 3 class to teach!" one of them, Iketani Isamu, lamented.
"How am I supposed to teach? Both Might Guy and Uchiha Obito—the two biggest underachievers—are in that class."
The female teacher, Ayano Ueda, noticed Muyue and greeted him warmly. "Teacher Hoshino, how was your first class? Did the tips I gave you help?"
Muyue recalled her advice about imagining vegetables like radishes during lectures to ease nerves.
"Thank you. Your tip worked well, though the students later advised me not to be a picky eater," he replied humorously.
Ayano laughed heartily, interpreting his lighthearted remark as a sign of a successful first lesson.
Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage observed Mu Yue through his crystal ball. Watching Muyue lecture passionately about the Will of Fire, the Third Hokage stroked his beard in approval.
"This young Root member seems promising," he mused. "Let's monitor his progress. If he continues to excel, we can consider releasing him from Root."
