Chapter 31- The Test
---
Me, Tsunade, and Jiraya arrived together at the training ground. After all, 30 minutes was a lot of time; there was no need to rush. On the other hand, it was better to talk on the way, planning what to do next. Well, I could not say much since it would definitely be suspicious, but I just told them, "Well, this might be a test of our teamwork, I guess. Since we were already assessed individually during the graduation exam, we should make a plan and work together when the test starts." Now, this would not only avoid raising suspicions but also make them admire me more when it succeeds. Sigh, how good it would be if I had Momonga's attributes of making everyone be in awe by doing absolutely nothing.
"So you are all here. Good. Now," Sarutobi-sensei said as he took out two bells from his pocket. "Look at these two bells. You have to snatch them from me before three hours. Give your all and come at me with the intention of killing. If you fail to get them, you are going back to the academy. And there are only two bells here, which means that only two of you can pass. If you have any questions, you can ask, but your time has already started," he finished with a somewhat provocative smile. Though the talk about only two people passing only managed to fool Jiraya.
"What!!! Only two of us can pass?? Isn't this pure nonsense? And what about taking a bell from you? Me, Lord Jiraya, can easily do such things. Humph! Both of those bells are mine!!" the fool started shouting. Although Jiraya is a good friend, such obnoxiously loud guys truly are annoying. Frankly, I kind of understand Sakura now. With Naruto shouting around her all day, I guess her behavior was understandable. Though she wasn't quite the role model herself, I guess that is why she was hated... besides being useless... and having low EQ.
Anyways, the idiot has already run off and is attacking. So much for my continuous instruction for planning and teamwork... Never mind, he's out cold already and hanging upside down from a tree. Well, that was quick. No wonder he died single. At least he is quiet now.
Now that he's out there hanging on the tree, me and Tsunade can take action. Of course, we have to rescue him too, as it was probably more important than getting the bells itself. "Tsuna, I will distract him. You go and rescue Jiraya," I told Tsunade and made hand signs. Fire Style: Flame Wave Jutsu. I started off with a simple jutsu since I wanted to create some space, and Flame Wave's large area coverage was perfectly suitable for that. Well, I thought he would dodge, but, Water Style: Waterfall Jutsu, Sarutobi-sensei used a B-rank jutsu, completely destroying the Flame Wave.
Fuck. I needed to stop the waterfall. Earth Style: Earth Wall Jutsu. I created a big wall, which stopped the wave but also blocked my view. I don't know what he is planning right now. I will probably be attacked as soon as I step out, that's for sure... Well, my combat skills really aren't that good anyways. Let's just use my strongest jutsu to clear the way. I started making hand signs and, after about four seconds and twenty hand signs, Water Style: Hard Water Vortex Jutsu.
Yeah, my solution to stop whatever sensei was doing was simply casting an S-rank jutsu towards him. Now he probably wouldn't be able to counter this because, well, this was a surprise S-rank ninjutsu, and he probably wasn't expecting me to have such a jutsu.
Last birthday, Uncle Tobirama told me that, as my gift, I could learn any ninjutsu of his, and he would personally guide me. Me, as any sensible person would, asked for the Flying Thunder God. However, he didn't teach me that, saying it was dangerous and that I was too young to learn it. But I got this neat S-rank water ninjutsu, which was cool, and I haven't even traded it yet. I would do it soon... after Sarutobi-sensei starts teaching us nature transformation. After all, I can't just randomly come up with an S-rank ninjutsu of nature transformation without even studying it.

Sarutobi Hiruzen POV
I have been assigned as a jonin leader for the first time in my life. To be honest, I was quite nervous at the beginning. After all, I have been assigned a team consisting of geniuses. Both Akira Watanabe and Tsunade Senju are famous throughout the village as young geniuses, and they can even be considered as the grandchildren of my sensei, the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju. So, although it was basically confirmed that I would be taking them in, I still had to give them a test like others, just for appearances' sake. So, I just recreated the bell test, which sensei did with us when we graduated.
At the Forest of Death, I announced the start of the test. Of course, I gave them the threat of failure to encourage them to do their best, saying only two of them would pass. It was easy to notice; after all, Konoha operates in teams of four. How could only two pass? Only an idiot would fall for that... Yeah, my team does have an idiot, I guess... He actually fell for it.
And now he's rushing towards me, going straight for an attack with a kunai in his hand, giving up all defenses. And that too alone... It seems I underestimated him—his idiocy, I mean. Does he really think that charging up straight is the best solution? I just used taijutsu, knocked him out, tied his legs, and hung him upside down from a tree nearby. Even his two teammates looked baffled by his actions.
Well, the best genius of the team, Akira, took action now. He instructed Tsunade to rescue Jiraya. Good, that alone is enough for him to pass the test. But let's check his capabilities. He launched a low-level fire jutsu, which should be his personal creation, towards me. Well, let's toy with him for a bit. After all, he is up against the best ninjutsu genius of the village. Even sensei says my talent for ninjutsu is second to none. I sent a B-level water jutsu towards him, which approached him, extinguishing his jutsu. He somewhat panicked and raised an earth wall.
Well, now we wait. The moment he emerges, it will be game over for him. Cutting off your vision isn't always the best move. I, as his sensei, need to teach him that. A few seconds later, he emerged—or so I thought.
It was a massive water blade. I recognized it at a glance—my sensei's signature water jutsu. How did he get his hands on that??? Oh, he can be considered his adopted grandson? Understandable... NO!!! Was an S-rank jutsu something a 10-year-old could pull off???
Well... FUCK!!
