Chapter 8: Ninja duel
Chapter 8: Ninja Duel
Seeing male voices from all grades frantically flocking to the door and pushing away the girls who had lined up to welcome Hirohiko Uchiha, Kiba was a little stunned and forgot to bite his steamed bun.
"What's going on? What a commotion! Have the boys gone crazy?" he thought.
The girls were being pushed around, some even falling to the floor. One girl's friend immediately got angry, hands on her hips, and yelled, "What are you doing! Are you in such a hurry to reincarnate? Didn't you see you knocked someone over?"
Other girls voiced their dissatisfaction too, but the boys, seemingly in a frenzy, ignored them and crowded at the door.
"I'm sorry, please let me through," a polite and distant voice sounded from within the crowd.
"She talked to me! She talked to me!" a boy cheered, triggering a series of reactions.
"Miss, let me carry your bag for you!" someone offered.
"Miss, please accept this," another bowed, handing over a letter.
"Miss..."
The boys showed their courtesy in various ways, some even handing over love letters.
Kiba slowly took a bite of his steamed bun, his eyes filled with surprise. "Who is this person, with such a big background, being called 'Miss'? Is this really the Naruto world? It feels like a romantic comedy!"
"I'm sorry, please step aside," the 'Miss' said, her voice turning cold. "I will not accept any form of love. Please take back your love letters. If you have so much energy to please girls, it would be better spent practicing ninjutsu. I despise men who do not seek to make progress."
Her words pierced through the boys' defenses, breaking their fragile hearts like a sharp sword.
In Kiba's eyes, the boys seemed petrified, turning into white statues with black lines on the backs of their heads.
Then, a young girl emerged from the crowd. Her hair, smooth as satin, flowed down to her waist, slightly fluttering as she walked. Her pretty face was cold as frost, delicate like a porcelain doll, with a pair of white eyes that stood out.
Kiba's eyes widened slightly. "Isn't this Yukina? She's in the same grade as me?"
He suddenly remembered. "Of course, she's from our grade. Yukina is the second genius ninja in the grade, second only to Hirohiko Uchiha, and a candidate the academy has high hopes for. No wonder she looks so familiar!"
Kiba blinked and realized how obsessed he had been with developing the Eight-Gate mode. He didn't even know the top students in his grade. He had no impression of any classmates. Did he really come to the academy?
However, judging by her appearance, her injury should be fine. Kiba breathed a sigh of relief and took another bite of his steamed bun.
As Kiba looked at Hyuga Yukina, she also noticed him. She paused before finding a place to sit down and glanced at Kiba. At that moment, Kiba was biting into his steamed bun. Yukina smiled faintly, then turned her head and found a central seat.
From others' perspectives, it looked like a random glance in that direction.
Hyuga Yukina took her seat, leaving a group of boys still petrified. Kiba was startled. Yukina's smile seemed to say, "Great, you're okay."
Turning his head, Kiba tried to hide a smirk. He scolded himself for being so easily affected by a seven-year-old girl. "It's outrageous!" he thought.
In his previous life, he was bullied and lonely, seeking solace in anime. After time travel, he was still alone, often ignored by others. Even as a time traveler, he still needed care from others. Finally, a warm current rose from his heart.
However, Kiba quickly composed himself as the teacher entered the classroom. Seeing the boys petrified at the door, the teacher felt strange but didn't think much about it. "Hurry up! Go back to your seats; class is starting!" he announced.
The boys snapped out of their daze, found seats in frustration, and wisely distanced themselves from Hyuga Yukina, who remained serious and unbothered by the empty seats around her.
With everyone seated, the teacher placed the textbooks on the podium and announced, "Today, we will practice ninja sparring."
Ninja sparring? Kiba, who was about to bury his head in sleep, suddenly raised his head. "Practicing ninja sparring today? No sleeping then. What about evening training? I didn't sleep all night."
His first thought was dismay. However, he quickly realized that since he wanted to become a key training target for the village, this was a good opportunity to demonstrate his abilities.
Having opened three gates, Kiba was confident in his taijutsu skills. In the Ninja Academy, who could match him? Ninja sparring was his chance to shine.
The teacher continued, "Everyone, follow me to the playground."
The students stood up and walked out in an orderly manner.
"Ninja sparring... My parents will ask about it again when I go home!" a boy complained.
"Yeah, Hirohiko and Missy will dominate this time too," another said.
"There's no point fighting; Hirohiko will be number one again," another agreed.
The girls were excited, chattering about seeing the handsome and victorious Hirohiko again.
Kiba, walking at the end, frowned. "This is the first time we're practicing ninja sparring. Why did they say 'this time'? Has it been done before?"
He tried to recall but realized he had no memory of ninja sparring practice. Except for the class where he learned the Three Basic Jutsus, he had been asleep most of the time.
Kiba thought of a possibility. Maybe there was a ninja sparring practice during one of his naps, and no one noticed he was absent. He could only smile wryly at the thought.
Hyuga Yukina took a peek at Kiba, her Byakugan slowly fading as she deactivated it. The amount of chakra is average, but that big pit...
Yukina looked ahead, frowning slightly.
