Naruto: The legend of Kiba

Chapter 16: Jonin selection

Chapter 16 Jonin's selection

"I'm going back," Kiba,

who walked out of the classroom, couldn't wait to go home and greeted Uchiha

Hirohiko and Hinata Yukina. After all, if they were to act together in the

future, they needed to get acquainted with each other. Besides, these two were

strong, making it safer to be with them. He had fought side by side with Yukina

Hyuga, and Yukina Hyuga had risked her life to save him. Kiba trusted Yukina

Hyuga greatly. Trust is vital among ninjas.

Moreover, neither seemed to care

about his identity as the son of a traitor, which reassured him. If a mission

or action faced a crisis in the future and someone had to be sacrificed, they

wouldn't abandon him because of his lineage.

Hirohiko Uchiha nodded and said

coldly, "I'll rely on you in the future."

Then he walked off to the side, as

if it wasn't the way home.

Hyuga Yukina also said, "I'm

heading back too. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow," Kiba

responded, eager to step out.

As Hirohiko Uchiha walked away, he

paused after hearing the two say "see you tomorrow," put on a poker

face, and added a delayed, "See you tomorrow."

Kiba walked away, Hyuga Yukina

turned to leave, and the two backs disappeared from view. Suddenly, a cold

sweat broke out on the back of Kiba's head.

At the gate of Konoha Village, two

figures in Konoha Ninja costumes stopped. A man with blond hair and a

reassuring smile looked at the village sign and smiled gently. Beside him, a

woman with striking red hair and beautiful features looked at the sign and

stretched, displaying a big, cheerful smile.

"We're back! Konoha

Village," the woman exclaimed.

Hearing her, the man said,

"Kushina, let's report the mission first."

"Okay." The woman

nodded.

These two were Minato Namikaze and

Kushina Uzumaki, returning from a mission.

"Lord Third, Minato Namikaze

and Kushina-sama have returned," the assistant ninja announced, opening

the door to the Hokage's office.

The Third Hokage, smoking a pipe

and frowning at three personal information sheets on the table, beamed with joy

upon hearing the report. "Let them in quickly."

"Lord Third, we're

back!" Before the assistant could finish, a red-haired beauty burst into

the room, a broad smile on her face.

"Oh! Kushina!" The Third

Hokage smiled, subconsciously stroking his hairline. Looks like my hair and

beard are safe.

"Lord Third, we are

back," Minato said, appearing from behind the door with his blond hair and

blue eyes.

"Thank you," Minato

nodded slightly to the ninja assistant.

"You worked hard,

Minato," the assistant said.

"How's the situation over

there?" The Third Hokage asked.

The assistant ninja tactfully

closed the door and left.

Minato stepped forward, serious.

"Iwagakure has started making moves, based on the information I gathered.

I estimate it will be soon."

The Third Hokage's expression

turned serious. "Is there no other possibility?"

Kushina's smile faded, and she

looked at Minato.

"I don't know the exact time,

but soon. We need to take precautions," Minato said, frowning slightly.

The Third Hokage nodded and

sighed. "It's going to be rough again."

The room fell silent. The Third

Hokage murmured quietly, Minato frowned in thought, and Kushina looked around,

noticing the personal information forms on the table.

"What's this?" Kushina

stepped forward, picking up the data sheets and seeing photos of three ninja

school students: Taki Kiba, Uchiha Hirohiko, and Hyuga Yukina.

"These are three students who

were approved to graduate early," the Third Hokage explained.

"They're very promising."

"Let me see," Kushina

said, examining the forms. "High-speed taijutsu, Shadow Clone, Eight

Trigrams Palm—only seven years old. Impressive kids!"

"Lord Third, have you chosen

a Jonin teacher for them?" Minato asked, surprised.

"I planned to assign Tsunade,

Orochimaru, or Jiraiya, but they're on missions and haven't returned. Minato,

are you interested?" The Third Hokage asked.

Minato shook his head. "I

already have Kakashi, Obito, and Rin under my command."

The Third Hokage sighed. "I

see. Let's see if there's a Jonin in the village who can train these three

geniuses."

"Three geniuses in one team.

That'll put a lot of pressure on their Jonin sensei," Minato said,

smiling.

"Yes, given enough time,

they'll become great ninjas," the Third Hokage said, tapping his pipe.

"Give them to me,"

Kushina suddenly said.

"Kushina?" The Third

Hokage was taken aback.

Minato smiled. "Kushina,

you're still a Chunin. You can't take apprentices yet."

"It doesn't matter. I have

the strength of a Jonin. You haven't given me the tasks to be promoted,"

Kushina retorted.

Indeed, with her sealing

techniques and the massive chakra of the Uzumaki clan, except for being the

Kyuubi's Jinchuriki and unable to leave the village, few ninjas could match

her.

And these three children were very

talented. Taki Kiba had Minato-level aptitude. If they were with Kushina, it

would also protect her.

However, their current strength

was still lacking. Without excellent teaching, they wouldn't reach their

potential.

The Third Hokage thought about it,

glancing at Kushina, who was arguing with Minato. Minato smiled, but Kushina's

red hair flared up, and she was getting out of breath.

"Lord Third, I'll be their

teacher!" Kushina declared, staring at him with almond eyes and red hair

fluttering.

"I'll train them to be the

greatest ninjas! You don't plan to let me out again anyway," Kushina

insisted.

The Third Hokage smiled

helplessly. Indeed, he couldn't let her out again. He was already under

pressure for letting her go on this mission.

Sigh... Fine, Minato can keep an eye on them.

The Third Hokage looked at Minato,

who nodded understandingly.

"Alright, you can meet them

tomorrow," the Third Hokage agreed.

Kushina smiled brightly.

"Thank you, Lord Third."

The Third Hokage could only smile

bitterly in return.
