Chapter 276: Chapter 275 : Battle!!

For some reason, looking at Adam's back, Susie felt an inexplicable sense of trust in him. "We can hold out for a maximum of five minutes," she said.

"That's enough," Adam replied.

He took off his glasses and casually placed them aside. "They're expensive, so don't break them."

"Are you sure you can do it?" Freya looked doubtful, her gaze shifting back and forth between Susie and Adam before finally settling on Chu Zihang. She swallowed nervously. "This isn't a joke. King's Blaze... one mistake, and we might end up roasted like suckling pigs!"

"Unless you have another way."

Susie took a deep breath. "If we decide to retreat, that guy will definitely kill Chu Zihang."

Now, Chu Zihang had become a hostage. Freya's face twisted with concern, but she quickly made up her mind. Staring at Adam, she said, "Hey, it's just five minutes. Don't let us down!"

"Mm."

Adam nodded slightly, his expression still calm.

George, who had been completely ignored by the three, suddenly darkened. "Looks like you're all looking for death."

"Move out!"

With a sudden low shout, Adam rushed forward.

"Kill them!"

George hastily pulled back, giving orders to Chu Zihang.

Word Soul: King's Blaze!

The temperature in the hallway spiked instantly, igniting intense, scorching flames.

The raging flames poured out like a torrent, resembling a fire demon that consumed everything in its path. The extreme heat was so intense that the ground and walls were melting.

The red firelight reflected off his face, but Adam didn't retreat an inch.

Just as he was about to collide with the flames, the fierce blaze suddenly slammed into an invisible wall.

Word Soul: Pure City!

Freya appeared beside Adam, her eyes glowing with golden light. Gritting her teeth, she urged, "Go! Leave this to me!"

Surrounding her, within a one-meter radius, the flames seemed to be stopped by an invisible force field. No matter how violently they roared and surged, they couldn't advance even a step.

"Move!"

With a sharp command, Susie grabbed a metal bed frame and threw it forcefully.

Whoosh!

The large iron sheet whistled through the air, flying over the heads of the two in front of her.

Though Chu Zihang was under control, his combat instincts remained sharp. His battle-hardened skills allowed him to swiftly draw his sword and slice upward, cleaving the flying bed frame in two. Without missing a beat, his blade shifted, executing a Kesa Cut.

The sharp alchemical sword sliced through the air, accompanied by a terrifying momentum, unleashing a flow of sword light like water.

Clang!

A cold flash of sword light reflected in Adam's eyes.

"Be careful!"

Susie shouted from behind, but it was too late.

Freya's face changed drastically, clearly shocked. She hadn't expected that even under control, Chu Zihang's movements could still be so precise. For a moment, she was stunned.

"Sorry. If you wake up, don't blame me," Adam murmured, watching the blade coming toward him. His eyes flickered slightly as he sighed, then suddenly clapped his hands together.

Using exquisite skill, he trapped the descending blade between his palms, executing a flawless move to catch the blade with his bare hands.

This scene immediately left Freya and Susie stunned.

Catching a blade with bare hands may seem simple, but it's incredibly difficult. It requires perfect timing, quick reflexes, and precise movements. Any small mistake could be fatal.

It seemed like Chu Zihang hadn't expected his sword to be blocked. He paused for a half second in surprise.

Adam clasped his hands around the sword's blade, twisting it to the side and forcefully pressing down.

The movement made Chu Zihang stagger, and before he could regain his balance, Adam punched his fist back, stepping half a step away.

His arms coiled like a bow, and then he unleashed a powerful punch to Chu Zihang's jaw, sending him flying into a nearby hospital room.

"Leave the rest to you," Adam said briefly, ignoring Chu Zihang as he flew across the room. He then pursued the escaping George.

"Isn't he a psychologist?" Freya said, stunned, staring at Chu Zihang, who had just been sent into the adjacent room. It all felt a bit absurd.

"I don't know," Susie replied, concerned. That punch was no small matter.

She could even hear the sound of Chu Zihang's jaw dislocating. If he weren't so physically strong, he might've died on the spot from that blow.

But then, a question came to the two women's minds.

"Are psychologists really this strong?"

Unfortunately, Adam wasn't around to answer that question. Chu Zihang, who had been sent into the room, was dazed for a moment before quickly snapping back to his senses.

Feeling the temperature rising again in the hallway, Freya grimaced. "Here it comes, Chu Zihang's 'King's Blaze'... I hate King's Blaze!"

In the next instant, a roaring flame dragon, accompanied by explosions, shattered the thick cement wall.

It was like a king of fire, with golden eyes burning with intense light. Among the smoke and dust, his overwhelming presence and the dangerous aura he gave off were clear.

Freya and Susie both tensed, their muscles instinctively tightening in response to the pressure.

"Five minutes."

Susie gritted her teeth. "We have to hold out for five more minutes!"

"I swear, I'm never teaming up with Chu Zihang again!" Freya muttered angrily, her own golden light flickering in her eyes as she activated her 'Word Soul: Pure City'.

On the other side, George, who had been chased, suddenly stopped.

Adam, who was following behind, also stopped and looked at the Black man in front of him, saying, "What's the matter? Aren't you running anymore?"

George snapped out of it, giving a cold laugh. "Heh, there's no need to run anymore."

At that moment, several patients who had been controlled stepped out from the nearby rooms. Some were disfigured, others were weak, and their eyes were blank, blocking the hallway.

"Are you seriously thinking of using these people to stop me?" Adam glanced at them casually, then said lightly.

"Heh, why not?" George raised his hand, showing a confident smile. "If you're brave enough, kill them all. But can you really do it?"

Adam's expression remained calm, as if unaffected, and he walked forward without hesitation.

"Stop!" George shouted fiercely. "If you take one more step, I'll make these people kill themselves!"

As if to prove his words, the people in front, who were blocking the way, all pulled out sharp objects and pointed them at their own necks.

"Oh."

But surprisingly, Adam didn't stop. Instead, he continued to walk toward George, unhurried.

"I order you to stop!" George shouted louder, his eyes filled with malice and cruelty. "If you don't, dozens of lives will be lost because of you. Aren't you here to capture me? If so many people die, you'll be the murderer too!"

Adam looked at him with a faint smile and raised his hand slightly, motioning for him to continue. "Do whatever you want."

"You!"

George seemed to be enraged, veins bulging on his forehead. "Good, very good. Remember, you'll be the one responsible for all their deaths!"

He planned to make a few people kill themselves to intimidate Adam.

Cling, clang...

The people who were under control all lowered the weapons in their hands.

"What are you doing?!" George suddenly panicked and shouted angrily, "I command you all to kill yourselves! Kill yourselves now!"

However, his orders lost all power. It was as if an invisible force took control over them, and they obediently returned to their rooms. The crowded hallway was instantly emptied.

"It's you!"

George's pupils shrank, and he locked his gaze on Adam. "You did this!"

"That's right."

Adam advanced step by step, staring calmly at the frantic George. "I already told you, your Word Soul ability and mine are the same type."

"No wonder... I couldn't control you!"

George clenched his teeth, glaring at him fiercely. "You think that without these puppets, you can do anything to me?!"

"I advise you to surrender."

Adam attempted to push up his glasses but then remembered he had left them behind. He decided against it.

"Die!"

Ignoring Adam's words, George used his physical strength and stomped hard on the ground.

Boom!

The marble floor shattered.

George charged at him like a raging beast, wild and violent. His punch cut through the air with a loud crack.

However, what awaited him was Adam's calm response—just a light slap.

Bang!!!

A shockwave, as if caused by a sonic boom, exploded.

George's left cheek was nearly caved in. He was sent flying through the air like a bullet, crashing hard into the cement wall. His head was ringing, and his eyes were blank with confusion.

What just happened?

George, embedded in the wall, was filled with nothing but questions in his mind.

How could this guy's strength be so terrifying? Just one slap, and it felt like his skull was about to shatter.

"If you're not going to be reasonable..."

Adam swung his hand and slowly walked toward him. He spoke calmly, "I do know a little about fighting. Don't think just because I'm a psychologist, I can't throw a punch."
